Hello
yesterday i have tried to install cyangen mod on my cellphone but i did a mistake. I well loaded clockworkmod on the phone but i have used a wrong rom so after rebooting the smartphone want turn on.
No download mode, no recovery mode, no battery charging.
What do you think about that? Could a Jig be usefull? Could i do Jig with low battery level?
A USB jig won't be of much help when you can't enter download mode manually. But you can give it a try.

What about the battery. It ought to be recharged before the Jig?

Ya. Recharge it. The battery level doesn't matter.

Oh no I think it's in the Paper-Weight mode so nothing will work (I tried all from USB Jig To throwing it through my room) You only could send it back if you have Guarantee and tell them some lies...sorry
I'm going to use a recharge battery from a Samsung GT-E1080W that have the same pins and volt but is smaller than the original one. I'll fix it in the slot with a piece of paper.
Could it work?
I'm not sure because the "Error" is in the Motherboard. Not sure but you can try IT: you have now nothing to lose...
Built a jig but no response from smartphone. The Jig is good cause i've tried it on Galaxy Nexsus and it work.
So the last hope: Samsung Technical support.

Hi guys,
I had my S3 on the charger overnight, as I usually do, with the phone turned on.
This morning I woke up and as usual the LED shows a green light, but the phone appears to be off..
No matter what I try, I can't get it to turn on now.. Also if I plug it back in, I don't get any LED showing..
Any ideas? Thanks in advance
Dan

can you go to recovery mode? (col up+home button+power button) if so, you can try wiping caches/dalvik cache.. better yet do a factory reset.. and if it still does not boot. IF you can go to download mode (col down+home button+power button), you can flash a stock firmware from sammobile.com but you have to have an account there first to download the fw.
I hope this helps
Hey guys,
I've had the battery out for around 2 hours now, and it still won't turn on. None of the key combos work (recovery, download modes etc..)
Any other ideas?
Dan
So anyone have any other ideas? I've ordered a jig, but that will take a few days to come, and I don't even know if that's the problem..
Really like to get this sorted today.. Just seems like it came out of nowhere!
Dan
Very strange situation if you have tried all above method. I don't know what else to tell you apart from take it to service centre. The Sorry mate...

lol.. I've had the battery out for half a day now. Not one method I try gets the phone to boot into anything at all.
Anyone? Still no luck :/
Logic says first step is to try a new battery .
Then try USB Jig .
jje
Yeah. I actually tried someone else's battery tonight. Still no dice. Waiting for the USB jig to arrive. :/ if that fails I have no ideas..

I'm guessing that if they got the phone going, even though my binary count is 0, they might void my warranty due to using a custom ROM?
Dan
So, I had a go at making my own USB jig using a single 300k ohm resistor.. and either I didn't do it right, or the jig won't fix it

Good news man.
I noticed my s3 (JB - rooted for a long time) was on 5% battery but i didnt care so i kept on doing my stuff
ofc it had turned off, so when i plugged in the charger nothing happened, no battery logo, no charging LED. after 5-10-15 min still nothing.
so i tried
- booting it up
- recovery mode
- download mode
- took out battery and put it back in
- tested charger with different phone, not broken
no response to all of this!
my s3 was full of apps and running rly rly slow lately, maybe it bricked itself? im panicking right now and dont know what to do, pls help!

no, just now i tried with another battery from my friends s3 and it doesnt work aswell i think the s3 totally bricked on me.
no response to any action i take, could that be in my benefit? like with my official warranty, if they cant even turn it on they wont know that it was rooted right?
Nah if they can't turn it on then they will just wipe and flash bud, I think the service centre is your only option buddy.

i couldnt exactly figure out what the problem is with my phone, but i also do not care anymore, tuesday im getting a new one, warranty and stuff
ps: callservice told me the problem might have been due to too many apps that run automatically, they had similar issues like that
So my phone ran out of my battery today and when i tried plugging it in again it wont charge and it loops through the battery symbol every 2 sec. I flashed the AKOP jellybean 4.1 rom last week and it worked fine. Any ideas?
It could be a Sod? Just flash another rom through recovery.

I cant enter recovery mode or download because it says battery is too low.
I've had something a little similar happen to me recently. Mine was reporting a constant charge when unplugged. The fix was cleaning the USB port with alcohol and a toothbrush, and then using a toothpick to push the inside of the USB board up just barely. Apparently USB port issues are common with this model. Maybe that's the issue with your phone?

Okay so I tried that and I'm getting the same thing. Is it possible the battery is just dead? It doesnt seem likely cause yesterday it was working fine.
Replace the battery, or turn it on without the battery.

I'm able to get to download mode without the battery in. I've tried flashing the stock samsung rom but same problem. I'm unable to do anything else without the battery. With the battery in I cant even get to download mode or anything else. I'm just gonna try another battery from the att store. Otherwise if anybody else knows anything plz let me know.
I'm having this exact same issue. I can't get into download mode though. How were you able to?
I have tried leaving it on the charger for over an hour now, and no luck. I think the battery has literally died on me.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2013766
**Update** I can get into download mode as well without the battery in. But I haven't flashed anything yet as I'm guessing we both have the same issue. Its got to be the battery. Let me know how the test at ATT turns out. If good, I'll just buy one off ebay for like $7
Try this: Once you are in download mode without the battery, put the battery in and see if it charges (give it a hour or so). Someone did this when they had the problem you are having and it worked for them.

I'm unsure, but maybe you're right and it is your battery. I'm not an expert with this kind of stuff so I can't offer too much help beyond the basics. From what I understand our phone's battery has a gauge built in to monitor battery level and report it to the OS, instead of relying on Android's built in monitoring. Maybe that got messed up when the battery was completely discharged? Hope a new battery gets it working for you, those are relatively cheap.

The same thing happened to my boss's phone. Since we have the same phone, I put my battery in his phone and it worked fine. So he ordered a new battery and it worked. You may have to get a new battery.

I went ahead and bought a new battery from Ebay. Only like $4 so I'm not too worried if it doesn't fix it. I'll update everyone when I get it!
I met this problem before. The phone shew charging and then reboot, again and again. The phone was overheated, in the night before.
I bought new battery and external battery charger from eBay. The new battery works well, and the old battery works well after charged by the external charger once. It seems that the cellphone need some minimal battery to work. I guess the phone use too much battery in the night, for some unknown reason, so the phone does not able to get enough power to get into charging circle.
I'ts my guess. If someone can test the voltage of battery, it may show the reason.
Replaced the battery and it is fixed. Just had a battery completely drain on me.
my gnone won't charge with the phone on i have to turn it off before it will charge

Did it get wet ?
Or get the charger cable pulled out of the port quickly or on an off angle ??
Just throwing a few ideas out there.
The charging flex cable being weak is a known issue for us...
Are you under warranty ??
Being stock, they should fix that...g

In a nut shell ...yes
Charging issues are difficult to diagnose, as you are working with multiple components to begin with.
But if different cables and chargers are tested, and fail to improve the conditions, then you are left with the device as the cause.
Additionally, if the device is unmodified, either by software or hardware that generally affects it's function, then hardware is the remainder.
Charging port is the probable cause ...IMHO ....g

Its not to difficult to change it out I bought mine from cellphonerepairshop.com got the OEM flex cable took about 20 minutes to open it up and change it theres tutorial videos on youtube if you are off contract I would suggest that.
Before you switch out any hardware, get a can of air, alcohol, and cotton swab.
Give the port a good cleaning.

If you dont want to replace the port you can get another battery and a wall charger, works like a charm
I agree. I like my 2700ma batteries and charger. For long days I bring the extra battery. The rig was super cheap too, but good quality.
I've had charging troubles as well
About a month after I first received my note I went to charge it (wall outlet, original adapter/cable, as well as stock ROM no root) and it refused
to charge. Restarting twice solved the problem, but still, every so often, my note will refuse to charge and I am unsure why. When it refuses to charge, it wont accept any charging cable (I check to make sure each is clean) although the phone works normally. Is this a known issue on some devices?
Sounds like a battery problem.
after some more searching around, it seems it was the battery causing my troubles, thanks for the tip! ordered a new one, it'll be good to have a backup battery

Remove the charging cable, remove the battery. Give the power button several long presses, insert the battery, the charging cable, and leave it for an hour or so.
Give it time to charge, then you should be able to power it on. If not, then you might want to look at sending it off for repair.
