Why does the Nexus 10 not have a Reboot option when I long press the power button?
My N10 is rooted but stock. Other than flashing a custom ROM is there a way to add a reboot option?

Unless somone makes a flashable zip, currently no. Until I flashed a custom rom I used terminal emulator for 'su' then 'reboot'.
A lot more work but it gets the job done.

There's an app called QuickBoot in the PlayStore that works well if you're rooted.

+1 for this. I use it and it works great. You can add an application shortcut on one of your homescreens to reboot, reboot to bootloader or reboot to recovery.
Have u tried to hold the power button when u are on lockscreen until the display is off ?

This ROM can be flashed over the top of your current, and has the options you're looking for: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2043633
Edit: Sorry, my first post is a link... but I just installed it myself and noticed you were asking.
Appreciate all the suggestions. Thanks guys.

Stock Nexus ROMs never had a reboot option. You can only get it via a ROM or some mod.
There is a reboot option on stock. You need to press and hold power button for about 6 seconds.

I meant in the power menu. Is that method a safe method? I feel like it's the same as holding the power button for 10 seconds on a PC. It turns off but it doesn't save anything.
It is the same only without a widget or something else xd

do i need to downgrade my phone?
no...you don't have to...
if manage to put custom rom on my phone, can i still buy apps from market?
no ur version is 2.2.1 u cant root it using z4root
use gingerbreak instead it'll root ur cell phone and flash a custom recovery and choose a rom which ever u like and u r good to go..
and when ever u need to un root ur device just flash another froyo rom and use z4root to unroot it
simple.!!!
to make it more easy make a nand backup of an unrooted froyo app if u need it so hard....
but again to change ur rom from unrooted froyo rom u need to root again ur phone

Yes you can. The market is linked with your google account and it is not dependant on the ROM or phone.

The error message is perfectly fine and I get it all the time. To scroll the options in the recovery menu, use the volume up and down button. To select an option, press the 'Menu' button and the 'back' button is to go to previous screen/cancel a task.
Hope this helps.
thank you everyone. just rooted and install custom recovery

Use any rom that doesn't have darktremor's a2sd, for example, openOptimus, devoid, void #forever, CM7 etc.
I have an Samsung Galaxy 5 (Europa, GT-I5500) that i have installed Cyanogen mod in, and it says this in the description:
Reboot into ClockworkMod. You can do this via adb reboot recovery, or by choosing the Reboot -> Recovery menu if you are already using CyanogenMod.
How do i do that? The only way i manage to do it in is to install Clockworkmod again and it automatically starts in reboot mode...
Download ROM manager from the market and open it then select reboot into recovery.

Or since you're on a custom ROM with the power menu... Just hold Power until the reboot menu pops up > choose Restart > choose Recovery.

Can you pull out the OTA file and upload it?

You need to be on the original unrooted ROM and stock recovery. Flash an RUU to go back to stock and then you can update to 4.3

Im having problems... my phone was reset to .11 and then i started the install. It was going ok, but stopped. I have a Red Triangle and exclamation mark. The phone will NOT reset though. Tried ADB, Fastboot commands, and holding down power button. Its stuck and wont reset. Any other way to reset it? I HATE not having a removable battery!

Did you try pressing and holding down the power button and volume down for a while, you should see the home and back button flash a couple of times then keep holding on to them and it should go to recovery.

Yeah, I had that problem if I did "adb reboot recovery" or went to recovery directly. When I go through Fastboot it's fine.
