Dude, when you formatted System, you removed the Android OS as well.. I suggest you flash a Stock FTF from here, then maybe install a custom rom of your choice if you like.. Wiping data and cache is equivalent to a Factory Reset. Wiping system is like deleting the C: partition from your Windows pc. You lose the os
If you need instructions on how to flash ftf, let me know

Might not work as most roms here work under assumtion that you run a Stock ROM first. Hence, lib folder isnt included. On a wiped system, it might not work

Something strange is happening to me. I always have installed 2.2 roms on my X10 mini pro with the same precedure: formating cache, wipe status and fotmating Dalvik cache and never had a problem; but now, with Gingerbread based roms, even doing the same, always appear my old installed apps and the roms don't work properly. I can't avoid this and I've installed roms even from the original stock rom and I can't solve it, i also tried to format the SD Card, and same...
Strange? Any solutions?
Thanks in advance!!
Weird.. never experienced that issue before. I've noticed gingerbread gives you a list of apps when you set up your google account. You can tick boxes and it will install the apps without having to bother with market - however, the 'modern' version of market doesn't like it and is sllllooooooowww.
If the phone/sd card is wiped I don't know how it keeps them. I can only think you could try to move the apps to sd and then format it, then reinstall the rom.

I've tried to move the apps to the SDcard, and still the same. Maybe if I don't tick the Google option about Security Copy it won't happen?
Even if I'm not logged in Google, when I've just installed the rom and the android symbol appears (Touch the android to continue), appears my previous installed app IMO+ and Advance task killer; and when I get the apps list, several of them still there, but withot data, only the apps.
Agree: New market sucks...
Thanks for the help bro!
Here it is what I do always I stall a new rom:
1º.- Recovery mode (Clockwork recovery)
2º.- Wipe data/factory reset.
3º.- Wipe Cache partition.
4º.- Wipe Dalvik Cache.
5º.- Install the rom from the SD card..
6º.- Wipe Data/Factory reset.
7º.- Wipe Cache partition.
8º.- Wipe Dalvik Cache.
And... tachaaaaaaaaaaaaan!! The previous installed apps still there, but no their DATA...
I experienced your same issue. Maybe CWR wipe does not wipe porperly.
I solved this way: extracted SD from mini and formated from PC.
Thanks, i'll try wiping with Xrecovery and if it doesn't work i'll format the sd in PC.
Thanks a lot!

Still using Xrec? Most ROM's now use CWM, D4rKn3sSyS recently released a dual recovery (xrec and cwm, depending on which button you press), it somewhere on page 1 at the time of writing. (sorry, im too lazy to go copy its link =P)

Yes, I know and I always use CWM, but when I wipe the apps don't dissappear, so I tried Xrecovery and a different version of CWM, but still the same.
My SD Card has a EXT partition for Link2SD from 2.1 Stock rom; maybe...?!
My SD had EXT partition too. When I formatted it from PC I deleted that partition. New custom ROMs don't need any more to have a different partition to install applications on SD.

Could well be that. Probably worth repartitioning the sd card on the pc.

Yes, I know, but I kept it just in case I got back to Stock Roms.
Thanks!! I'll try, but I'm sure that's the problem.
my S2 hangs on boot. I only see animation of omega cfw. I have searched different forums here on xda but no solution.
I can flash it but I have birthday pictures of my daughter when she was 1 year and can find it on my computer. I want to make a backup before install another rom. I have cwm but it can't make backup for my pictures I have read,
there is no external microsd installed, all pictures are saved on internal memory.
I have tried to install Siyah kernel with Odin. Now I see Siyah Logo on boot but it flashes continuously.
I am on vacation now, Lucky I have my mini notebook and have internet. I have buy a microsd to backup pictures or flash another rom.
Can anybody tell me with a friendly guide to fix the startup problem or make a backup of my pictures before I flash with a rom?

All ur Picture's taken on ur phone will be stored in the InternalSdcard (the 11.5gb partition) so installing a rom in no way will delete them
So u can flash the rom without any issue

Yes, for a clean install of the rom, A 'wipe Data/factory reset' and 'wipe cache partition' is a must

No, im not wipe sd card.
Well your data has obviously gone somewhere, and it wasn't flashing a standard 1 part stock rom that deleted it. If you didn't back it up beforehand, you probably won't be recovering it.

Hey guys,
I have been having problems with some CyanogenMod roms lately. My I9300 was working perfectly using one of the nightly CM 11 ROM's released in early March, until I installed the latest M Snapshot. From there on in my phone has gone insane.
From time to time, during the day the phone gets blocked without any apparent reason. My first thought was that has something to do with the RAM, maybe its getting low somehow, but no, that wasn't the case. Most of the time I have at least 160-180 free ram, usually more than that.
Anyway, then I thought maybe the problem was the installed ROM, so I did a re-install but still, with no effect. Then I downloaded 17th of march nightly ROM, wiped clean the cache and reset the phone. Still with no effect.
My next solution is: Download the newest nightly, currently 18th of March, install the latest Clockworkmod Recovery, which is 6.0.4.6., reset and wipe the phone again (backing of course) and install the latest ROM. What do you guys think?
Also, does anyone else has this problem after installing the latest M-Snapshot from the CM download page.
I would much appreciate your help. Thanks a lot.
Gent
Yes. You definitely should install the latest CWM. And when you wipe, make sure that you (from the CWM menu ofc):
wipe data/factory reset
mounts and storage -> fromat system
mounts and storage -> format /data and /data/media (/sdcard)
advanced -> wipe dalvik cache
then flash the rom etc
If you didn't do this in the first place when you tried flashing the ROMs the flashes were dirty and that may be the reason why they didn't work.
Doing the above will give you a real fresh start with your ROM and problems should not appear.
So, I don't think the problem is in any of the ROMs you tried.. I'm just guessing, so correct me if you did all the above
I have been doing just fine with CM 11 M3 and M4 builds and now I'm on the latest nightly and everything is working perfectly! :highfive:
Hey Man,
I did that, but now the problem is that I cannot install the rom because it has wiped all the data that were there. Now I cannot transfer the rom into the phone. I transfered it into the external sd card but it does not let me to install it, it shows an error.
What to do now???

You should always put roms on ext sd card before you are ready to flash not internal for situations like this! Flash back to stock with odin and start again.
Connect the phone via USB cable, go to recovery, Mounts and Storage, and then click Mount USB Storage. Then, transfer the ROM. Have you thought about having the Cm instaler?

Sorry I think my reply might have confused you..I was suggesting that he should have transferred his rom to ext sd card before he started to flash and wipe system..It looks like he wiped the system in recovery and could not transfer rom to internal sd so he managed to transfer the rom to external sd where it would not let him install please correct me if I am wrong ..
I know there are other options he can try but in this situation I recommend flash to stock to give him a clean system and minimize any errors he might have and then he can try again the correct way.

Are you sure you installed it correctly? Are you using the correct firmware? And what I mean was install via odin again and repeat the wipe process and see what happens!

I installed it 100% correctly man. But I forgot to mention, that somehow I messed up my memory before that. Before Installing it, phone was completely usable, but i couldn't open internal sd card on file manager. When i was trying to do something on recovery mode with INTERNAL sd card it was saying "could not mount /emmc/..." something like this. external sd card worked fine. I messed it up, because i didn't knew that s2 needs to install micro gapps package, so i tried to extend those 2gb. I used some files to that, but i forgot what i used to...

Oh, you mean you extended the system partition to 2gb right? You used the pit files right? Stock rom requires the system partition to be reverted to normal size (about 500mb or .5gb). So flash the .5gb system pit in odin and see how it goes! Stock rom doesn't need gapps, should be included already.
