Hi,
I already have a network unlock code from my operator, but neither they or myself can work out where to enter it!
I have googled and sent LG an email but I haven't heard anything.
Does anyone know where I should enter the unlock code?
Thanks
Try this:
How to insert the Unlock CODE into your LG P500 Optimus One
Insert a not accepted SIM Card and turn ON your LG P500 Optimus One.
Your LG P500 Optimus One will display "phone restricted".
Select Cancel
Your LG P500 Optimus One will display "phone restriction code".
Enter the Unlock CODE you received from UnlockallCellular.com
Select OK
Your LG P500 Optimus One is now unlocked!
Cheers
Hi,
thanks I forgot to mention I tried that. When I have another SIM in it it doesn't say restricted, only says Handset Network Locked. It doesn't give me the option to enter anything
I think there is a *# combination.
I allready saw it here on the forum.
But can't find it anywhere...
Try this code:
2945#*500#
Cheers
Thank you ever so much!
Score one for XDA!
Really appreciated
If it worked please change the topic name to "[REF] Enter in P500 unlock menu", for further searches.
Cheers
hey op, where did you get the unlock code? i've been trying to find a site that can do it but none of them have it yet.

I guess that this codes are for unblock phone in other operators net, aren't? If so, then it haven't sence for me. Our operators have to sell already unlocket mobiles.
2945#*500# doesn't work on my phone. i am using CM7 Rom by Mik
I came across a site which is selling LG unlock code for €8.00 but i don't know how to enter the code.
And also when i insert a sim from different network, it doesn't ask for unlock code or doesn't even show that my phone is restricted. Only says no network. Is that because i am no using LG branded rom?
I took the phone to a unlocking shop and they said they could unlock the phone by connecting it to a computer. By changing some firmware details. But i am not too sure about this. I am using Mik's rom and i don't want them to change anything around. I have custom recovery installed and i little afraid about this. And i am also afraid that after they change the firmware will i be able to flash new ROM? and if i flash new ROM will that lock my phone again?
So if you guys have any idea, please share
ı using 2945#*500# ' Your Phone is not personalized. ' ????
i can confirm, dialing 2945#*509# does not work on Mik's CM7 rom. It's worthwhile to note that the last three digits should change to whatever the model number of phone is (for me, I have an LG P509-T). It's my assumption that you must be on the stock firmware, or at least a firmware that is based on the stock ROM in order for this to work. I remember several months ago I tried this on MegatronV1 and I was able to get the unlock screen to come up, but I had no idea how to get an unlock code at the time.
I suppose that for those of us who are running Gingerbread, the only solutions for this are to roll back to a froyo rom based on the original firmware, roll back to the original firmware itself (hope you made a nandroid backup before you got all flash happy!) or if you're intent on sticking with gingerbread, wait a couple months until the Gingerbread firmware has been officially pushed to the Optimus and the devs can start cooking roms based on the new firmware.
Just a thought; if you unlock your phone on a custom firmware when you flash another rom, do you have to unlock it again? I'd be interested to find out.

I am in the same boat, so no solution is it?
Thanks, tried all 5. None worked here. KOODO in canada in case anyone comes across the thread in a search
I too have a Koodo phone. Th # sequence stated does in fact bring me to the unlock screen. Unfortunately it says I only get 10 chances. I believe there are different unlock codes as per your IMEI. What gets me is, the people in the malls who sit in their kiosks and unlock phones at $40 to $50 bucks a piece are just typing the IMEI into a program and popping out an unlock code. I would really like to get my hands on that software, and then I would start doing the unlocking on the side for far less than what they charge.
Thanks!

Hi,
Bought a Samsung Galaxy SII (SGH S959G) and flashed it, unlocked it (before January 26th (which was legal back then(and I am using Ultra Mobile as my carrier and rooted it.
The thing is that now it's an SGH S959G (Straight Talk phone) that has an OTA update and when the download starts it says it's downloading the new version for this phone, but, when I browse to the "About Phone" section of the settings, it says that the Model Number is Samsung SGH - I777 with a baseband version I777UCKH7, Kernel version 2.6.35.7, Build number GINGERBREAD.UCKH7, AND, when I power on the phone, the splash screen shows that it's an GT - I9100.
Today I connected my phone to Kies and (obviously) showed that an update was available for I777 (Android Version: 4.1.2 / Baseband Version: I777UCMD8)
My hands are itching to upgrade my phone because when I bought it and rooted it I had JellyBean in there, and now I have Gingerbread, but:
Should I upgrade my phone?
I want to keep root on my phone, will it be possible?
Will my phone still be flashed?
Will I loose the unlocking that I did to the phone?, I really just don't like the service at Straight Talk, besides, Ultra Mobile is much cheaper.
Now, one more thing, this phone was not activated on any network when I purchased it (got it at craig list (for those who know what that is)), checked the IMEI number and was not reported either stolen or lost, but couldn't register it with Straight Talk since I didn't have the original purchase ticket from WalMart, so I had to change the IMEI number on it too ... will I loose this if I update it?
Thanks, in advanced, for your help, sorry it's such a long explanation, but just wanted to let you know the whole story so you could get all the facts you need for helping me, and if you need more, please just let me know.
Again, thanks.

For loosing SIM unlock. ...I need to know if you did your unlock by unlock code or you did some other way
.....updating to 4.1.2 ....look in I777 thread for cooked Rom that is already rooted deodexed ...debloated....and TW rom you looking
If you did unlock by code that is permanent. ..other ways that you need post
For showing update on kies...
If you did modified IMIE that is going to be problem. ...be cause your motherboard will still have factory IMIE. ...and from your statement I'm assuming you modified IMIE from some I777 device...
So your best thing is to use. ..cooked rom...
For statement that SGH-S959G is jb stock. ...no it is not...

Thanks samprocat, to unlock the phone, first, I downloaded an app from gogle play store that actually stated that it unlocked the phone for me, then I sent the phone to someone to change the IMEI number (I looked my IMEI up on the IMEI black list on the internet but it wasn't black listed but a message kept popping up stating that the phone's IMEI was not registered) so I don't know how they did the IMEI change, except, that they did change the IMEI while the phone had the sgh s959g image on, but could not put on the modems, that's why they used the I777 image.
I know that if the phone gets back it's original IMEI, it's not going to work anymore, plus, I don't know if it's going to stay unlocked either. To tell you the truth, I don't want it to go back to it's original state. If there's a chance for me to loose the phone's unlocked feature, or get back my original IMEI number, then, I'll just stay with the phone this way.
I was told by Verizon that in general, I can use another carrier's software update to update my phone as long as the software date is not too long after the phone "roll-out" date. Is this generally true ? I want to confirm before I use a USCellular Android 2.3.4 update (Software Number 3.20.573.2) on my Verizon HTC Merge (Android 2.2). (I checked - the software date and phone date are around 2011) [Verizon never supported this phone but it is branded as such] The update requires HTC Sync and to be done via a PC.
(I'm a newbie, so trying to find the simplest solution to update the software without rooting and etc...). Thanks

Whoever told you that from Verizon was an idiot. That is absolutely not how it works, especially with carrier locked devices like that. If there are no official updates available from VZW, then the only way would be via a custom rom. If you try to run that RUU, it will fail before it even starts because it will recognize that the CID (Carrier ID) is different.
Update needed for Verizon HTC Merge ?

Is it safe to use Android 2.2 on the HTC Merge or should it be updated ? If update, some say Google Play Services may be a 'back-end' solution.
Or getting a custom rom is the best way ? If so, where is safest place to get it and what is best way to do this for a newbie ?
Thanks for your help !
I bought my phone and they told me that it was the d855 international 32GB 3GB RAM version, it came and it's currently on Stock 4.4.2 and was already rooted for some reason, I figured that out because there is no Update Software option and because of that I then ran Root Checker and it is indeed rooted.
I bought it planning on installing LineageOS, but I'm unsure if it really is the D855 model, it has 32GB of Storage, it DOES NOT have the antena of the Korean version, in Hardware Settings it says Model LG-D855 and in Software Settings it says Software Version D85510m.
The thing is that when I'm following this guide while I'm running LG UP the program says that my Phone is currently in version ls990zvb, why is that? should i trust LG UP? or should I trust the retailer?, I read that LS990 is a Sprint version and that ls990zvb is Lollipop for those devices, but my phone right now is running 4.4.2 Kitkat, not Lollipop.
I don't want to brick my phone just by installing the wrong KDZ from the incorrect model, and I really don't know which version it truly is, because I read somewhere that they can just edit the name and version that it shows in the Settings but it also doesn't make any sense that LG UP says that I'm running Lollipop while I'm not. I just want to use LineageOS and that's it.
If it actually is from Sprint, can I use Lineage OS or another Custom ROM with my GSM SIM Card? If not, can I at least update my Android version with other Stock ROM and make it unlocked like the one that I currently have?
I want Android Vanilla in my phone and that's the reason that I bought the International version, but the LineageOS page also says that there are releases for Sprint, so I'm unsure.
I'm at my wit's end on this. Calls stopped working the other day due to 3G disablement as far as I can tell. AT&T model unlocked and using with Simple Mobile on T-Mobile network. Calls would just say "Calling" for a long time and then eventually disconnect. I could switch to GSM and make calls again, but slow data. Simple told me to get a new SIM and when trying to activate, it shows ineligible IMEI due to no Volte it seems.
I'm trying to get that fixed, but running into various issues.
LM-G850UM
I tried to crossflash (https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/tutorial-crossflash-bypass-opid-mismatched-error.4345963/)
I flashed G850QM30c_00_NAO_US_OP_0224.kdz but it didn't ask me to change the model, so it still shows LM-G850UM software G850UM30c. IMEI is the same.
Since this didn't get calls back or Volte, I tried updating the MBN (https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...ther-qualcomm-powered-lg-devices-too.4343655/)
Data shows 4G. Calls don't even try to connect.
I don't know what to do next and don't have much time to try to figure it out. I like the G8X, so I'm hoping there's a way to save it.
Any thoughts from the experts?

I crossflashed to general firmware. Where's the best place for the TMobile firmware? Just off their website? Will that lock the phone again, or will I still be able to use the Simple Mobile Service?

It shouldn't lock the device if it's already unlocked. You can also use G8 firmware as well.(same device)Look here, this should get you the firmware you need.

That's where I got my KDZ before. I used the one here: https://lg-firmwares.com/lg-lmg850qm-firmwares/ and used the 3/24/22 version for Android 11. When I flashed it with LG UP, it didn't ask me to change models, which I'm not sure if that's why it didn't trigger it to start working again.

Most are using the international firmware for the G8 and G8x models.Which is what the qm firmware is.If you're carrier is T-Mobile or any T-Mobile MVNO,I would solely use T-Mobile firmware. My G8x is AT&T branded and factory unlocked, and I tried using Tmobile service about 2 months ago and was having issues sending text messages.I could place and receive calls and get text but couldn't send them period.
Yeah, so my G8X is AT&T unlocked. AT&T didn't activate VOLTE on this model, so when T-Mobile shut down their 3G network, Simple Mobile calls won't work and the current IMEI shows it's not eligible (because of the model.) At least that's my understanding so far.
So for the G8, is this the firmware I should crossflash? https://lg-firmwares.com/lg-lmg820tm-firmwares/ or I could try the QM which may or may not work. Is that correct? Basically going to the 820 firmwares instead of the 850?

I would go with the T-Mobile firmware since you're on their network. It wouldn't make a difference with VoLTE enabled with an AT&T sim.Once you pull the sim,and swap it it defaults back and turns the IMS settings off until it receives the configuration from their servers.Yes,820 firmware. It at least has the higher android builds, and better security patches.Once you put T-Mobile firmware on the device it should all work regardless of IMEI.
Edit:Make a back-up.Don't forget to do that first!
OK Surge....you've been helpful and seem to know what you're doing. What did I mess up?
I followed the cross flash instructions. I flashed the 820QM firmware first, and System loaded but the touchscreen wouldn't respond. I could only use the hard phone buttons. Decided to go to what you recommended with 820TM and it wouldn't boot at all - black screen - but I could still get to QFIL and LGUP.
I reflashed 850QM and touchscreen works again and I'm back to where I started.
When I flashed 820s, It did ask me if I wanted to change model numbers this time and I said Yes. And it asked it said it was changing some partitions on the 820 loads.
I may have been working on this too late. I appreciate your help so far.

I think someone else encountered this once before, and it was caused by certain manufacturering dates of the device. Some models can use 820 firmware, and some can only use 850.Looks as if yours is kind of stuck with 850 firmware only.I think the AT&T version I have I could go either way it worked with no problems.I still have my G8x but never really used it.I bought it because it came with the dual screen attachement, and $125 I took it.Here's my Sprint copy if you want to give it a try. It's a LUNS copy minus LUNS 5 for IMEI information etc.I was in the same boat as you on certain features not working with AT&T at one point myself and had to crossflash the Sprint version of the device. With that being said, try this one from LG Fans first. If that doesn't work, try my LUNS Sprint copy and let me know which ones works the best.

So interesting news....I obviously didn't try making calls last night at 2AM, but apparently reflashing with the same exact 850QM software I used before seems to have fixed the issue. Maybe changing the model to 820 and then changing back to 850? Who knows? That's like the 3rd thing that happened with this process that I have no idea why it started working differently, but hey I'm happy and back up and rolling.
Thanks for all of your help, Surge! I was truly at wits end, and had already ordered a new phone, even though I'm happy with the G8X overall. Now I can return that and keep rolling with the G8X.
Thanks again, you were a huge help and its much appreciated!

Glad you got it working!I run in to a same similar issue with a Note 8 I have, and it being an international unlocked AT&T phone. No calls would work period, and swapped firmware over and over and finally started to give up and flashed the stock firmware back and it worked. It's something that hangs in Android with the changed IMS settings that are sent to the device. It's all odd at the moment with carriers, but nothing surprises me anymore..lol..
"G850QM30c_00_NAO_US_OP_0224.kdz" Is a BPT kdz and is not truly open even though it says, "NAO US OP".
I got the phone working by using "G850QM30b_00_NAO_US_OP_0902.kdz", the "real" open kdz. Everything worked fine after that.

"G850QM30c_00_NAO_US_OP_0224.kdz" Is a BPT kdz and is not truly open even though it says, "NAO US OP".

Yes,the firehose will always work regardless of the Android version. Also from what I have read, yes the same procedures work for A12 for root and unlocking the bootloader. As always, backup your firmware before rooting and attempting to unlock the bootloader just in case something goes wrong!

Do you think there is any point to crossflash
USA G850QM40b_00_NAO_US_OP_0805.kdz
on ATT G8X to be used on Tmobile network? I can do the VOLTE patch after rooting it . is it worth the headache?

QM versions are international unlocked versions of the firmware. My branded AT&T G8x had issues sending text messages with T-Mobile service I do remember.I crossflahed my variant with the QM version and it worked flawless after that. But,I do have a full backup copy of the AT&T firmware if I ever decide to put it back.
