Did a little searching, could not find an answer.
Is there a way to enable tethering over 5 Ghz N?

Hotspot on my cell. Is it possible to remove hotspot and launch wireless tether when it's connected via Bluetooth on a custom rom? Any thoughts?
Thanks

Ipad (Gen3Wifi-only) and BAMF Rezound ICS v1.1 Official Rom, I wanted to be able to use the gps from my cell on my Ipadl. The only way to use it is through Bluetooth. Thanks for your reply.
Want to use your phone's 3/4G data connection with the TouchPad? Having come over from the Nook Color tablet forum, I've tested the Nook Color Bluetooth Tether app on the TouchPad with 20120712 CM9 nightly, and it works. This app, available for free in Google Playstore, allows you to share your phone's data connection by pairing your TP with your phone. Nice when you don't have free wifi. Get it here:

youre likely gonna miss out on some speed using bluetooth tethering for anything above 3g. For the bandwidth and latency, it all depends which version of Bluetooth both your phone and your tablet support, and what kind of network connection you're tethering. Your connection speed will only be as fast as the fastest standard supprted by both devices. more than likely that'll be bluetooth 2.0, and if you're lucky both will support EDR profile. that will max out at 3mbps. Sticking with wifi would be your best bet for 3.5g and up for sure.
thanks for the info
Hi all,
I need to thether my 3G connection with my satellite linux-based receiver but I have some problems with the built-in wifi module (n standard).
Probably the drivers are not well developed but I experience some random lags (for example I ping it 2ms then 650ms the 45ms etc...) also with my linksys router.
I had to switch to 802.11g only in the router's option to have the receiver working properly.
But now I have the same problem with my S3: the receiver connects @ 150Mbps (so 802.11n) during the tether with the same random lags...
Can I select a lower max speed (a different standard, 802.11g in this case) in the Galaxy S3 (also with external tethering software, the phone is rooted)?
Can I set it for the whole wifi section (I think that also the tethering will go at that speed)?
Thank you very much for the support!
Same problem here
I have this very same problem with my SGS3. My older laptop can't use SGS3 tethering because it lacks 802.11.n. I would really love to know of a way to force 802.11.g tethering on my S3. I'm not capable to root my phone, so it has to be some setting or app.
Is there anyone that knows how to do this?
Trying to get one for my wifi, we stream HD videos so we will need 5G wifi. Does it support 5G wifi?
Yes it is both 2.4 and 5 ghz compatible
Hi there,
I would like to try something out.
I have a 2.4GHz modem/router and a 5GHz usb wireless card.
Is it possible to use my phone to connect to the network at 2.4GHz and resend/extend it at 5GHz so I can connect my pc with the 5GHz usb?
My phone is capable of 2.4GHz and 5GHz (it is the GT-I9505 and it is rooted, check setup of my phone in signature)
