I'm on CM10 Nightly, and I just have one question. Is it possible to somehow raise the height of the AOSP keyboard in landscape mode? I feel like its way too flat. Thanks.

third party keyboard apps can do that. I have perfect keyboard pro and you can adjust height of keys, spacing in between, font size etc.. stock, you're stuck with what you have.

Been running the 2.1 alpha and I'm quite happy with it. So thanks to the dev's for the awesome work.
But my fat fingers have trouble using the tiny softbuttons for the home, back etc keys.
Can the size of these buttons be increased? It doesn't seem that ADW themes affect the soft keys at all and I cant find any setting for there size.
I realize alot of people dont want big buttons taking up screen space but I have grown to appreciate the nice big Webos style buttons.
thanks!

Agreed.
I'd also like to see an option to move around to one of the other three sides. Like I'd like to have it positioned on the top rather than bottom.

U can move your status bar(inclusing soft button) to the top using adw ex

There is an option in the tablet tweaks that have where you can move it to the top.

Do you know if ADW EX can also modify the size?
All I've found so far is resizing of the launcher dock, and when I've tried a few setting it did not affect the soft buttons.
I do see in the setting under cyanogenmod settings you can move the soft buttons to the top.

I have install ADW ex, the soft button and dock are show abnormal !
Anyone got same problem?
The status bar isn't part of a launcher; it's part of the OS/UI. As someone above mentioned, the bottom status bar is actually part of a set of tablet-oriented UI changes called Tablet Tweaks that were implemented in particular for the Nook Color, though obviously we're reaping the benefits now on the TouchPad as well! Perhaps the confusion about ADW comes from the fact that ADW's menu provides quick access to system settings as well as ADW settings?
Anyway, you can move the entire status bar back to the top of the screen in the Settings>CynanogenMod settings>Tablet tweaks screen. Just uncheck "Bottom status bar" and it'll be on the top. If you'd prefer the buttons on the right side, uncheck "Soft-buttons left". You can also select exactly which set of soft buttons you want.
There are two ways to change the size of the buttons: 1) I believe different CM7 themes can provide different size images; 2) You can change the LCD density to something higher than 160 (the default for the TouchPad's screen). The latter will scale everything, though, and might affect the usability of some apps, so be careful!
If you want to change the size of the buttons, you will need to choose a theme that works with the CM7 Theme Chooser.
I recommend this. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1311339
joenathane has a couple good ones.
I installed a couple of his nook themes.
They are very nice on the touchpad....but the softbutton is still the same size.
I'll have to wait for a theme...but at least I know what to look for.

They are definitely not the same size at all.

Worked like a charm. +1 Thanks!
I use LCD Resolution (free in the Market) and change the value from 160 to 200 (the max on the TP). Don't forget to check the "Set on Boot" option. This actually makes everything bigger by 25% (noticable but not to terribly huge).
I love it.
An other option is to use button savior, it's an additional softkey toolbar with bigger buttons. A free version is available here on xda. Look at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=865525

the max lcd density is 280. you can manually edit or use any editor for build.prop. I use rom toolbox myself. but you can find it within build.prop as ro.sf.lcd_density. I've used it at 240 for hdpi themes. if the hdpi theme doesn't seem to fit right then just adjust the lcd density. you can use adw launcher pro to reduce the overall size of the icons.
Hi all,
I'm sure all of you are flashing CM7 stable builds on your Atrix rite now and ADW Launcher is default in the ROMs.
I know our Atrix has a larger resolution (960x540) than most phones, so ADW's AB icons (the 5 icons in the dock bar) looks pretty small on screen, even though I set the size of AB icons to maximum 10. Anyone knows how to set it bigger than 10 in settings so that it would look nicer on our Atrix??? thanks in advance
Just adjust the DPI settings in build.prop. It will make Market act a little funny with some programs not being able to be downloaded or paid for, but you can adjust everything as big or small as you want. If you need Market, just reset the settings to 240 and yer good to go. I'm sure there are other alternatives but that's what I do cause i have 99% of my programs backed up with Anttek Appmanager, which is free AND turns anything you download and install into an installable .apk for a later date. I know, smexy. Kinda like TiBu except free.
Wouldnt that compromise the screen resolution and would make it all blurry since i basically fatten every thing up???

Yes, so I'd avoid that. If adw lets you use custom icons, you could always manually resize them on your computer. I use irfanview to edit custom icons that I use with launcherpro. 96x96 pixels is the average size. Try something larger.
unfortunately, i don't think ADW support custom icons, unless you install like a whole new theme with preinstall icon set in theme.....

*cough* launcher pro *cough*
ADW does support custom icons, just hold down on the icon and then hit edit.
also, you can get an app called OldMarket that allows you to swap between the old market which allows you to download any app, despite of your LCD Density (i have mine set to 180, high resolution FTW - phone has never looked any better)

Is there a way to make the landscape keyboard a bit smaller on CM9? I love it so far, but this is my one gripe, it's HUGE.
Thanks for the help.
sorry not sure how to change the size other than messing around with the DPI, but um if you're not using thumb keyboard i feel bad for you son...
Never heard of it, is that the 2.29 one in the market?
Yes it is that one. I recommend the purchase if you plan on having a tablet. I bought it when I had the Nook Color and it worked well for that as well. It has mutiple keyboard configurations.
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.beansoft.keyboardplus&hl=en
I like the size, the tiny size of CM7 made typing such a pain. I actually wish it was a little bigger and had the number row on top, like the webOS version. Because I like it I haven't tried, but do other free keyboards from the market show up the same size?
Sent from my Galaxy S II (i777)
Number row is configurable for height on the stock keyboard. I don't. Remember if the others are as well. Check in keyboard settings. I'm using Hackers keyboard, its free and has number row and arrow keys. It's the one that makes me wish webOS had it.
After using Nova Launcher forever, I decided to run the 9+ stock for a while and recreated my screens. However, the icons are gigantic. Is there a setting I am missing to change the icon size? It seems there is a limit as to what I can modify on the stock home.
Search it bro there setting for it :good:

Are you sure there's a setting for smaller icons? You can adjust screen resolution and grid spacing. Neither of those options impact actual icon size. I don't think I've stumbled across a setting for icon sizes aside from maybe assistive super sizing.

Yup. I've yet to find a setting that will change the icon size on the native "TouchWiz" launcher. Maybe they get a little smaller when you have the screen grid at the highest setting (5x6), but this has no impact on the home screen dock, which is where my icons and folder live.

Dont mind the other guy. I know what u r talking about and is fair question to ask for most noob new to touchwiz.
Unlike nova which u can minimize icon size. U cant do this in touchwiz. There are other way but are limited
Changin grid to 5x6 home screen or/and change ur dpi. If u go to developer mode. The highest dpi for touchwiz 456 before it breaks. asuming you have wqhd+ resolution. If u go any higher touchwiz icon just minimize to small. Also the samsung keyboard breaks.
Try using 5x6, dpi to 456 and see if that small enough for u, if not then u would have to use another launcher.

Giving it a try. Not horrible. Guess I am just spoiled with Nova, Lol. Thanks for the guidance.

This actually worked for me. Thank you.
I noticed Samsung keyboard has like a black space under it when you use gestures for navigation and remove the navigation bar.
This is useful because on other keyboards it's not there and everytime you do a gesture you end up typing something.
Anyway to create a black space under other keyboards? Like Gboard.

Yes, sorry I forgot I was using the beta. The latest should be 7.2.6.24.
Agreed, I would like to have this option too since my accuracy dropped from the keyboard relocation. I also sometimes type accidentally, as you say.
Use Fluid NG Gestures. Far better than Samsung Gestures and use Nova to remove nav bar. Perfection
