I'm about to buy a Rezound. I have a Inc2 rooted S-off and everything. I'm familiar with rooting. My question is will hasoon all in one tool work on any firmware?
Sent from my Incredible 2 using xda app-developers app
yes it should because s-off on the rezound uses pins that firmwares cant patch
So all I have to do is run his tool and it roots and loads a custom recovery and I can flash away?
Sent from my Incredible 2 using xda app-developers app
No no you have some directions to follow I advise you reading up on the rezound soff process first it requires shorting out pins on the back of the phone ... Its easy but you need to know how first
Sent from my Dinc... I mean Rezound
So pretty much I go to HTCdev to unlock bootlader and root then I use Hansoon tool of "wire jumper thing" to S-off then I'm all set? Lol

wow you must have did your research because that's pretty much it
and i advise being on a custom rom when you start the s-off process and use a sd card you dont mind losing data on if it screws up

You are probably using SuperSu as the superuser app. You can go into settings of that app and select permanent unroot.
You can then lock up you bootloader by opening a command prompt and going to your adb and using fast boot commands you can type fastboot OEM lock you can then proceed to download the latest ruu 2.13 just search the on here for it and run that with your phone still connected to your computer.
If your soff you can just run the ruu or install a stock ROM via recovery.
Multiple ways to do it just depends on a lot of variables like what ROM your on, s-off or s-on, what hboot your on 1.12 or 1.15, if you just want root gone or you also what to dump custom recovery as well and if you want it completely stock like it just came out of the box.
Let us know some more info and someone will help out

It depends how you rooted it.
Its different each way.

Theres no need to undo the superuser app. Any unroot method is going to install the unrooted ROM

True, but still a way to unroot.
If he just wants to unroot that's the quickest way to do it and probably the easiest.

You are right. That's not what most people want when they go to unroot though. H-boot will still be unlocked/S-OFF and the phone will probably still have a custom recovery (depending on root method)
So get back to us OP

I too would like to know about this, fresh out of the box.
In that case, relock bootloader as per the instructions above, and then run the appropriate RUU for your firmware version.

If S-OFF it requires you to run the S-ON tool as well.
Its really a different process for each root method available

You'll need to re-lock the phone and then run the RUU then.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5yS7yy4XVA4
RUU:
http://stockroms.net/file/HTCEvo4GLTE/RUU
For h-boot 1.15 you'll need the 1.22 RUU
You run it from your computer.
So I've finally taken the plunge and rooted and s-off my ltevo this evening and I have been trying to flash cm10 and I keep getting stuck in a bootloop I'm trying to flash the new stable cm10 and yup bootloop, and I've done full wipes I'm thinking it was a bad download so I redownloaded and yup bootloop

Your not s-off, and judging from the fact you can't boot cm, your not on hboot 1.12. Check out http://unlimited.io/dirtyracun.htm this will allow you to s-off and not have to worry about flashing the boot.img through fastboot.
I used regaw method of achieving root and it does s-off also, and like I said cm10 goes into bootloop

regaw_leinad's tool only unlocks your bootloader, through the method provided by HTC. You do not achieve s-off though that. If you boot into your bootloader, you will see s-on, the next line below where it says unlocked.

Personally, your much better off actually going with dirtyracun. If your s-off all you have to do is flash the rom.zip. If you dont wanna go that route, you need adb set up. After you have adb set up, just cd to what ever directory you extracted the boot.img out of the rom to, and type fastboot flash boot boot.img
sorry, I'm not gunna spoon feed ya through the process, but atleast it sends you in the right direction

You need a computer to unlock bootloader. Go to htcdev.com and you follow the guide there then continue with the link i posted. You are CDMA by the way. Also look at the guide this other guy posted by ramjet.

You don't need s-off to install roms from 4ext recovery tool. You only need s-off for updating radios and such. If you do want to try the wire trick make sure you have contact with metal by scraping away any white dot sticker that on some phones is under the holes.

Depends If you have other brand of amaze such as tmobile wind tellus or something EXCEPT Asian Version, if you have Asian Version which is CID_044 you need s off cuz we don't have ics.
Sent from my HTC_Amaze_4G using xda premium
Yup..
If you have Asian version of amaze and if you want to update your android version to Ics than you must perform s-off ,
Than flash RUU which is provided by aj and than hboot .
And after that you can flash supersu.zip to gain root access..
And if you don't want update ics and want only simple root with GB stock Rom
1) unlock bootloader
2) perform s-off (to be safe to perform further steps )
3) flash superSU.zip
Hit thanks if I helped you !!!

If your phone is T-Mobile branded and so is the rom (most are T-Mobile based anyway, like speed rom and android Revolution), just enable smart flash in 4ext settings and it should flash without s off. They both have to be T-Mobile branded though.
But s off is worth it you can flash any amaze rom after s off and super cid. Insulated wire works best but tape covered paperclips work too.

If it's unbranded, then he would have to S-OFF. Which is the international or "asian" amaze. I think I have a TELUS amaze but it's unbranded (it came unlocked). So basically my amaze is the wedlock orphan amaze, until I check the original CID. "Aint nobody got time fo dat!"
To the OP, if you're Amaze says T-mobile on it just turn on smartflash and you should be good! You won't be able to flash every thing like CM, or Dark Glass Mod, AOSP based roms, and other non T-mobile roms for now until you S-OFF, and supercid.
Once you do that your amaze is freeeeeee!
So one more noob question, which recovery should I have used? 4ext or twrp? From what I read originally twrp was the way to go, but upon further reading it sounds like I should have used 4ext instead. Is there really that much difference between the two?

Definitely choose 4ext. It has smartflash so you can flash ROMS without being S-OFF. This only applied to T-mobile amazes on T-mobile ROMS. But people who have the amaze are mostly non-T-mobile so it hasn't been of too much use, but it can be for you if you have a T-mobile branded Amaze. Do you have a T-mobile branded amaze? (Amaze with T-mobile stamped on the front). If you do, you can avoid the S-OFF process (it's highly recommended anyway) and flash T-mobile based Roms here. :good:
yup .
but i suggest you to perform s-off bcoz after performing s-off every thing going to be good,
, you
and if you haven't t-mobile or other , i mean if you have to asian than there is no way you must have to perform s-off.
and ya use 4ext recovey.
:good: Hit thanks if I helped you !!! :good: :good: :good:
My phone was a telus phone that I had to get unlocked. So I'm guessing that getting s-off is the only way to go. Should I use the All-in-one program to flash 4ext, or could I use Goo manager? Is there any issue flashing over twrp?
