I first installed CM 10 nightly, didn't really like it, so I thought about restoring my old backup and going back to stock ROM, but, when I booted the phone, the logo came up then it rebooted.
Then I flashed Xperia Ultimate HD 2.0.3, Installation went fine, but the logo stayed for like 5 seconds then it went into a black screen, kinda abit blue'er than black.
The LED light went light blue.
What should I do now?
Thanks.
Fixed!
Finally, I managed to fix it.
I did this:
Locked bootloader: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1134335
Unroot with Flashtool.
Flashed boot.img from CM10.
Flashed 562 Android build. (or something :s)
And then the phone booted up.

Just for your information:
If you want to flash a new rom, you have to flash a kernel that's compatible. So you do it like this:
1. Push rom zip (and gapps if needed) to sdcard
2. Boot in cwm and do a backup
3. Flash the new kernel (in the zip or if you can choose one, watch out: there are kernels for GINGERBREAD or ICECREAMSANDWICH and use the right one )
4. Boot in cwm
5. Wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache, advanced -> wipe dalvik cache
6. Install zip from sd card -> choose the zip
Reboot and you've got it

I recently rooted my s3 i9300 and was planning to flash CM10 to it.
In the install instruction it states the following: "Make sure you run stock ICS rom. We won't care if you didn't and your Wi-Fi isn't working."
I am currently running 4.1.1 JB, so my question if I should go back to ics and how. Or can i just flash CM10 over my stock 4.1.1?

No, don't worry about that. You don't need to go back to ICS.. Just download the latest version of CM10 from here. And flash it via CWM.
But first
Take a backup of your current rom using cwm (Just in case you don't like CM 10 and wanna go back to how your phone was)

Yes, that is always advisable when installing roms.
PS: Download Google Apps for CM 10
Wipe data/factory reset
Wipe Cache Partition
Advanced > Wipe Dalvik Cache
Install CM10 Zip
Install Google Apps via CWM right after flashing CM10
In that order
Hi, all!
I have that annoying problem with all the 4.3 ROM I've tried with no exception. Everything is fine until the first reboot. Then it's stuck on the first Galaxy SIII boot logo. I'm using TWRP - the latest version if it matters.
I always wipe everything first.
Please give more details on how you flash it.

If you did all required wipes and followed the instructions did you try a different recovery? I read in the SB thread for example of people having issues with TWRP

I am sorry for the wrong section. May I ask some to move it to Q&A?
I always wipe data, cash, dalvik cash, system. Then install the ROM and gapps...
After the restart I set up the google account and etc. And after the first restart the phone freezes. That's all.
I'll try with different recovery.
PS. I've just tried CWM recovery 6.0.3.3. and Omega AOSP v9. Still the same.
Try cwm 6.0.3.6 and after you install the rom and after its set up go to recovery and factory reset

That's strange, I run Philz recovery and every 4.3 flash till now went through without issue.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
I tried all the recoveries I could find. Including Philz. Still the same.
And something else strange. I installed CWM, CWM, touch and Philz and with them I made backups. After restoration of the backup the phone freezes. I also tried to install Omega 49 and the installation goes OK, but freezes before the first start-up.
The only solution was to install manually TWRP (Odin) to restore some of my old backups. I'm beginning to think that there is something wrong with my phone. It's black if it is important.
Suggest total wipe of phone install your stock rom and test
Hi,
I just want to say I'm also having the same problem.
Started using TWRP with full wipe, same issue on 4.3 and no issues on 4.2.
On latest CWM same problem and 4.2 wont even pass the first boot on Samsung logo.
Also had to use Odin to get back on TWRP and flash a 4.2 rom again.
Anyway there is one more thing I would like to try but haven't had the chance to do so, is installing the latest modem and ril. But I'm kind skeptic about that currently because there is also some risks and my S3 is my daily driver.
Don't change the ril on any custom as you stand a big chance of breaking the calls and Tex's. Modem yes but not ril. Do change to cwm and retry.

You are doing a full wipe?. System and data is the main thing to wipe not just factory reset. So go into mounts and storage and format data, system and cache there then flash the rom /gapps.

Back up you're device to a PC...
Odin the ICS boot loader from droid basement or Odin the stock 4.0.4 ICS ROM...Root it...( if you have the p7510 WiFi only And you have went to ics 4.0.4..check my FAQ thread..all you need is there..) After the root...stay stock or jump back in...Lol The more the merrier...
You jumped to far ahead...you're boot loader is the problem..I think. Maybe somebody more experienced than me can shed a little light on the problem...but I think its a boot loader issue..read the op of the ROM you flashed and see what they say..you said nightly..so I'm assuming its cm.
Also...always read the change log...important stuff....
Let me know how it goes..

OK... I would have odin'd the boot loader first...but if it took and you have cwm..OK.
I tell everybody to get infamous twrp recovery...but that's just me. I had problems on cwm...never had any on twrp..and in the infamous aokp ROM thread kasper has an infamous themed twrp zip..
boot recovery...wipe cache..
wipe dalvik cache( under advanced )
flash infamous twrp recovery zip...
wait.........
when its done...
go to advanced and pick reboot recovery...
Now that you're on a super solid recovery...
wipe data
wipe cache
wipe dalvik
format system
( In twrp...all these wipe settings can be found by picking wipe/advanced...and you can do them all at once...Yes..TWRP rules..
Now install the cm zip...
when its done...
install gapps...
reboot...enjoy...

Can you explain more thoroughly? I don't understand. SD card total or free is 2.8 GB? My guessing is that you didn't read the cm10.1 thread enough. Your whole SD partition is jacked up. Copy your files to PC and format your SD card, then Odin flash stock ICS and start over.
Sent from my GT-P7500 using Tapatalk HD
The simple explanation is that I only have 2.8 of usable space on the tab.
The rest is taken

Good catch eushaun...man I must have been half asleep when I read this...
To OP..eushaun is right on the money...but if you don't want to flash stock with Odin..you can back up to a PC..Then format sdcard in recovery..It might work...if it doesn't..then the Odin flash will be necessary..
Hello.
I want to instal parandroid on z ultra and i have some questions:
1) where can i found aospa/cm11 ZIP (from step 2 of instalation guid)
2) witch 4+ version is stable (nonbeta)
3) on z ultra have i the lateral bar with the home buton?
4) on this rom can move the app to sd, because on stock rom i can't(phone is rooted)
5) can i instal it on a full stock phone(only bootloader is unlocked, no recovery,no root), because i guess that the boot.img (from step 2 of instalation guid) is a kernel with recovery.
Thanck you.
Ps i tried to ask Beerbong or in his thread but i coudn't because i don't have 10 post.
1) In the CM11 thread
2) the boot.img is inside the CM zip
3) I don't understand
4) I don't know
5) Yes. You're right. That's why you have to flash the boot.img first, so you get Recovery

I instal parandroid especialy for that option.

The boot.img in the Paranoid Android zip is fine. Extract that and flash it using fastboot/FlashTool. You'll now have a recovery with which you can install the Paranoid Android system. Access the recovery by powering on the device, then holding Volume Up as soon as the LED turns green.

As above for thr boot.img
Carbon has PIE as well, but build 18 seems a little unstable
One more question.
I read în s4 and nexus 5 parandroid threads and i saw the instructions in the next format:
Samsung
update to the last custom recovery
wipe data/factory reset
flash rom and gapps
wipe cache and dalvik
Nexus
1. UPDATE RECOVERY
2. FACTORY RESET (If coming from another rom or stock)
3. INSTALL ROM
4. INSTALL GAPPS
4. REBOOT
5. CUSTOM KERNELS MAY BREAK ROOT, SIMPLY RE-FLASH SUPERSU
At the z ultra they said that we need to instal rom and then to factory reset and then wipe data and dalvik.
Anyway. What make me suspicious is that factory reset after instal rom. I talk with somebody and he told me that i will brick my Phone if i will do that. So i want to do next instalation Guid:
1) flash a New ftf file(the last)
2) flash that boot.img( what i find in parandroid.ZIP)
3) factory reset.
4) wipe data(i saw that i can do it At the same time when info factory reset, because în twrp, At wipe option i can check all data(inclusive dalvik)
5) instal rom
6) instal gapps
7) do a again Point 4
8) flash su
9)it's done

Yes it should work.
Most custom ROMs only include cwm recovery.
It froze at the boot logo as the kernel and system were incompatible, if you had of rebooted (vol. up and power button) and entered cwm again you could have made a nandroid and then installed the ROM

Hi.
I hope that I can get solution.
These are what I did:
1. I used CyanogenMod13 and I flashed GApps. After I booted it, I unrooted my phone and I removed busybox.
2. After that, I updated my phone to recently builds.
3. But after 09/09 build, I didn't updated it. So I just tried to update 10.01 build today.
4. I thought TWRP would be more better to control, so I flashed it on my phone and I flashed new cm update by TWRP.
5. After I flashed it, I formatted Dalvik(ART) Cache and Cache. (I didn't do it sometimes but i remember that it didn't make any problem.)
6. I got my phone keep bootanimaion forever so I flashed 09/09 build.
7. But it didn't works, so I flashed CyanogenMod13 recovery image and I flashed CyanogenMod13 10/01 build by CyanogenMod recovery.
8. Now it doesn't works (it keeps bootanimation), so I'm here to ask you.
I don't wanna lose my all DATA which involves my app data.
Thanks for reading.
