Hi I replacement my screen on my galaxy S2 I9100 however when I switched it on a bit of red on places such as when u drag the task bar at the top of the screen to bottom of the screen the background has a bit of red with the black background. Also I noticed that when I switched my phone off and let it charge then it shows the battery icon the contrast isn't good such as the battery icon isn't transparent enough and it suppose to look.
So Im wondering that it must be something to do with the values/setting in the graphic drivers is there anyway which I change them so i can get it looking properly. Also I tired using different custom ROM currently using Resurrection Remix 3.1.2 but same thing.
Any help ?

I bought the phone about 2 hours ago (I had the last version too). However, just before I did that I came here to read a little bit about the gps (to see if it was working or not) and then I saw many threads about screen problems and others... so I started to get a bit worried about getting the phone but I did it anyway
Well... during a quick test of the phone I saw that in my contacts and in the task manager screens appears to be a problem (I think)... the left top icon (contacts) has a small color degradation in its border from dark blue to light blue. The Task manager has the same thing but on its right side icon. Its pretty small but I am not sure if its decoration or just a problem of the phone in those 2 "screens" cause I dont see any more color problems elsewhere.
Does anyone else knows what else should I check (most common problems)? To check them out and see if got them too so like that I could go to the store and get a replacement.
Thanks a lot guys!!!!!!

Hi mate,
Don't worry..it's not a screen fault but a feature..
when you see the little colour degradation on "Contacts" and "task manager" means that you can slide left or right to see other features.
Just test it your self, open the contacts application and slide where you see the colour degradation.
Your screen is good, you don't need to go get a replacement.
Is there any way to get more themes, I have the white version of the phone and it would be great if I could have color matching theme.
The themes included are all dark, and they dont actually change the colour of notification bar, and the menus only show the wallpaper through them.
This is my first post so sorry if Ive done something wrong.

you should try going back to the subforum where it's title themes. your best bet is there enjoy!!!
And a white theme means more white, brightly lit pixels that would consume more of your battery, just like reading e-books on the mobile: black letters on white drains battery visibly faster compared to night mode: white letters on dark background... is white theme that important?
thanks
Thanks for your replies, didnt know whether there was some sort of Sony store where I could download themes for this specific device.
1 quick question, how do I completely disable the auto backlight feature, its annoying sometimes becuase I keep putting my finger over the light sensor and it dims it so I cant see the screen .
thanks again

I think that reasoning is only valid for AMOLED screens; for all other types, afaik, the backlight is on for all of the screen, and 'black' just blocks the backlighting from going through (which is why real black is quite hard to get in an LCD display)

As for white theme, that would certainly hurt the eyes at night, but hey its your choice.
Hi guys, I have a very strange problem that has been occurring over 3 different firmwares on 2 different S2's. If i swipe my finger over the top right hand corner of the screen (like where the time, battery %, etc. is) the brightness of the screen automatically increases to either half the brightness bar or 3/4ths, or sometimes 90% of the bar.
I have tested this on 2 phones in several different apps, home screen, etc, and even in landscape mode (landscape mode shifts it to the top left of the screen which would be the top right of the UI) which leads me to believe it is a firmware problem and not a hardware problem. However considering it was an issue on my brother's phone running stock KG6, my phone running Sicopats rom based on KH3, and his phone after flashing stock KH3 then on cognition 1.5.1, i am confused as to how all of these rom's could have this issue.
Is it because the issue hasn't been addressed? am i doing something wrong? please help me out guys i know this seems like a small issue but now that i've noticed it it's bothering me quite a bit
It's a Samsung feature. Sliding your finger on the status bar while in manual brightness mode adjusts the brightness of your screen.
I thought so too at first but its so unpredictable that I dismissed that as a possibility. do you know if there are any mods which disable this?
Hello together
I have kind of a strange problem. Yesterday I got my new tablet (IRULU X1S) and it's a pretty neat thing, runs fast and everthing was working fine.
Then I have been using the chrome browser and let the tablet lie around. When the screen was darkening (because of idle) I turned the tablet and the screen tilted. Since then there is a bright bar on top of my screen (if I hold the phone upright).
When I tilt the Phone the bright bar stays at the same place, meaning the bar is now on the side.
Its almost as thick as the status bar and it's way brighter than the rest of the screen.
One could say the rest of the screen still seems "darkened".
What is really really weird is, the bright bar is even visible if I enter the phone "root" menu (pressing vol down und power). The top pixels seem brighter than the rest.
Is this a known Android poblem? It can't be a burn in, because it happened after tilting the screen and is there since then.
I tried to remove all apps that I installed and even factory reset the tablet. The bright bar is there in every screen, on the bootscreen and also in the "root" menu. Is there maybe a way to reset the phone to all defaults, e.g. putting a new OS on the phone? Because it has to be a software bug...
Thanks for reading and I hope you have some ideas how to fix this!
Hi guys today i noticed that my screen is burned ( classic problem of amoled screen) in the status bar so when i rotate the screen i get a band equivalent to the status bar where i can see wifi signal etc burned onto screen. Someone know some solution without going via warranty?

That is because the statusbar is almost always showing black(meaning screen is not being used) while the other parts start degrading. I had that on my galaxy s2. It's easily fixable. Just download amoled burn in fixer from play store and put the brightness on max and set it to show only the statusbar. It will burn the statusbar and make it degrade to match the rest of the screen that suffered degradation from being used. It worked perfectly for my s2. Don't be afraid to let it show only the statusbar for several hours. I think in total I left my s2 like 24 hours with that app(with intervals to check progress in the burn in)
