Kernel version: 3..0.15-1157945

Version number: IMM76D.XWLQ2
which is the best root method?

Just flash Siyah kernel via ODIN.
and please don't do any WIPES. After you flash siyah read about BrickBug on 4.0.4's kernel.

Can any one guide me how to root this model. I have found a very long thread here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1103399 but I cannot find a relevant CF-Root file for my model.
Appreciate help, if some one is there to guide me.

Download and flash CF-Root-SGS2_XW_XEN_LP7-v5.4-CWM5.zip from Chainfire's CF-Root thread (post #8).
This will work fine for your ROM.

as ur build is JPLPF in which The LPF is what is important and u have to choose a CF root matching this(LPF).
it is CF-Root-SGS2_XW_OXI_LPF-v5.5-CWM5.zip
which u can find in the link below, under the heading 'ICS - CF-Root v5.5/6'
