Hi everyone and Happy New Year!
I am running latest Jelly Bam Rom.
In the last year i've used several sim numbers from different Carrier.
Now i'm using Orange. I had given this phone to my brother, because for the next week or so i'll be using an HTC 8X.
Anyway, as he plugged in his number, which is a Cosmote/Vodafone. The problems he is asked a code for unlocking the network.
How do i unlock it and how did it locked on only one sim number?
I believe it is asking for the SIM code, not the Network unlock code.
Whenever you get a SIM card, you also get a SIM PIN number and a SIM PUK number.

The SIM Cards are not blocked by a pin number.

Hi
I just bought a Cingular 3125 on Ebay, and according to the seller the phone was SIM Locked.
So I assumed it was Sim Locked and meanwhile I receive the phone I started looking around for different ways to Unlock it, so when I finally received my phone, I inserted my SIM Card and worked fine! so my questions are:
After all of the events, can I say that my phone is SIM Unlocked?
Is it possible that my local Carrier (Telefonica) has the same configuration as Cingular so the SIM Unlock Code was not required?
Thanks for your help and your expertise.
Best Regards
If your SIM worked I'd say it was SIM UNlocked AFAIK no SIM from another carrier will work if it's SIM locked. A simple way to check would be to try another SIM!
If I understand correctly, there are actually different levels of sim locked. Hey may have just been locked out of his own sim which can happen if you try the wrong code a few times. That way another sim might be able to work on that phone. I am not sure since the wireless carriers that I worked for never used Sim cards.
UPDATE
I just checked with my wife who works for ATT and she stated that it is possible for people to lock themselves out of thier SIM cards and not the phone. Should the person lock themselves out of the phone and SIM then they are kind of SOL unless they have great friends like the people at XDA or can get the manufacture to give them the lock code.
hello to everyone i would like do modify my root but i have never done any of this could anyone guide do the safety way and easy one if this matter is from att us
i used pete's one click and it did run fine the program said phone is rooted how i now it is?i need do to anything else?
is there a way i couls elimimate the sim network unlock pin with root?since i buy this cell and i did more than 10 intent's now the phone is lock i did call att they gave me 8 digit code with a no sussess and now not even a sim card of att it take's.some one did tell me that i need do call sim carrier and they will give me 4 digit puk code.the problem is i did try 10 intents but with different's sim's i should call de carrier from the first sim i did try do unlock or the last one when phone became lock since the sim's were diferent's thanks

Well, if the phone its locked to AT&T then you call AT&T. There is no way to unlock now though from what I understand unless of course AT&T can for you. This its why you should NEVER just guess at the unlock coffee and instead call the company you bought the phone from or get an unlock code online for less then $20 usually.
To check root install an app that needs root (root explorer works, as does any other asp that says needs root)

I have a TMo phone unlocked with a WIND Mobile sim. I have already PUK unlocked the SIM when I first use the phone. However, I randomly getting PUK locked message in the morning. I restart the phone. Message goes away. I don't get it. Is it something wrong with the SIM, the provider, or the phone? I can't find any information on that regard online. I do have the SIM PUK code from my provider.
Use the PUK code that Wind gave you.
i did but the warning screen pops up after a day or two. That is the part i don't get.
Puk codes are generated from the Sim card, suppose to happen when the security pin on the Sim card is entered wrong to many times.. There's also more than one pin and puk, usually referred to pin 1 and 2, which generates puk 1 and puk 2.
my guess is if it keeps happening, you might want to replace your sim.

Here is my story:
I bought my friend's Telus locked S6 Edge last week when he upgraded to the new S8. Right now I am am using Virgin as my service provider and bought an Unlock code from an online third party and that code did not work. While the third party unlock shop was helping me figure out my the problem a third attempt at entering the code caused the error message to change to asking for a PUK code. I got my PUK code for my SIM card from my Virgin account and that fixed nothing. Phone is still asking for the PUK code. I contacted Virgin and they updated my account with the S6 Edge's IMEI number but after 24 hours the new code (which was still the same digits) also did not work. I have since tried three other active SIM cards from different subscribers from friends and relatives. All cards are asking for a PUK code. If I put in the original owner's SIM cards the phone works without a problem.
I contacted Telus and bought the Unlock code directly from them (it was different from the code I got online confirming this all started because of a bad code), and it was also rejected, but the phone is asking for a PUK code so I was not surprised. I tried to force the SIM unlock with the Telus SIM inserted by using the #7465625*638*# to bring up the network unlock prompt and using the new Telus provided code, but it came back as unsuccessful.
Have I somehow screwed up my new to me phone? Can anyone help?

The PUK code needs to come from the original network it was locked to. As you have tried that and it didn't work I'm also confused as to why it won't unlock.
Right so.....
It will usually ask for a PUK code when the phone has a SIM lock enabled. Then if the SIM lock is entered incorrectly 3 times it will ask for a PUK code, obtained from the network to unlock it again.
Did your friend have SIM lock enabled?

With my friend's SIM inserted in the phone it works like the day he got it. No prompts for codes or PUK warnings.

I just realized I did not understand the question. My friend never enabled any SIM lock. He did not even know that was a thing.
Did you find the solution as i am having exactly the same issue on my phone ?
I bought the phone on eBay, and it's a UK phone, originally on the BT/EE network. I was promised by the seller that the phone would be unlocked.
After inserting my local network SIM card (from carrier in Denmark), the following message is displayed: 'SIM network PIN blocked. Enter SIM network PUK'.
How do I unlock the phone to be used with any SIM?
RossTeagan said:
This means that the previous user, or somebody else, tried to use another code instead of the NCK (SIM network PIN) code and freezed the device, this is why it asks now for the SIM network PUK (https://www.unlockunit.com/blog/fix-sim-network-pin-blocked-enter-sim-network-puk-message/).
You will need now bot the MCK (defreeze code to defreeze the device) and then the NCK (Sim network unlock Pin) to actually unlock your phone.

No it's not that! Your sim came with a code, 0000 or 1234. If you tried for more than 3 times to unlock sim with a wrong code, the phone ask for PUK code. This code is provided by your carrier with you sim. Now there are two posibilities: you entered the wrong pin for more than three times so you must contact your carrier to provide PUK or the seller has done that and you need his PUK code.
By the way, your phone should work with another sim! You could try that to confirm that the phone is working ok

There's a difference between the PIN code and the SIM network unlock PIN. They might look the same way, but there's a difference.
And the message "SIM network PIN blocked, Enter SIM network PUK" is related to the phone's network codes. Notice the "network" before PIN and PUK
EDIT: Here someone who had a similar issue https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s8+/help/s8-blockef-fter-trying-to-unlock-t3597665

Just ask somebody who has this issue, when the phone displays this message, how many digits they can input in the field if they can input 4(for a normal SIM PIN) or 6 for the actual SIM network unlock PIN

Thanks for your time and help.

For free nobody! I payed 50 euros to Vodafone for network unlock.
There are services from 18 to 30 USD, just search for sim unlock sprint on google.
I'm having this problem but the SIM PUK isn't working please advise
I got my Galaxy S9 SIM Network unlock PUK from UnlockBoot - they generated the code remotely in 10 minutes. I contacted Samsung and AT&T support but they refused to give me the network unlock PUK. UnlockBoot managed that in 10 min. You can use them also.

If your asking how to unlock your sprint phone because and you do not have the money to pay it off then no one can or will be able to help you.
Someone else asked that kind of question (different carrier though) already, and the link below was the response from a moderator
