Hey guys. I'm looking to buy a new phone this week, and i'm torn between the Sensation XE and the Samsung Galaxy S2. I can get them both free on a £30 per month contract with 900 mins, 5000 texts and 1Gb of data. So i'll post this on both the Sensation (since there is no XE board) and the SGS2 board. Hopefully someone on here has an XE, if not anyone with the normal Sensation please give some info as to how you've found it, same goes for owners of the SGS2.
Here is how i see it at the moment.
Screen
Sensation XE - 4.3" qHD 960x540 S-LCD
SGS2 - 4.3" Super AMOLED+ 400x800
This is one of the things i'm confused about, i mean, clearly the AMOLED display will have better contrast and viewing angles, but i'm slightly concerned about the resolution being only 480x800. On my Omnia 7 the super amoled 480x800 on only a 4" display looks pixelated. Could someone let me know whether the SGS2 uses the Pentile matrix or full RGB set-up?
Processor
Sensation XE - 1.5Ghz dual core Qualcomm MSM8260
SGS2 - 1.2Ghz dual core Exynos
The XE has a higher clock speed but I'm worried that sense 3.0 will slow it down. And also the Exynos is probably better than the Qualcomm.
RAM
Sensation XE - 768Mb
SGS2 - 1Gb
Clearly the SGS2 is better here.
Internal storage
Sensation XE - 4Gb (1Gb user accessible)
SGS2 - 16Gb/32Gb
Expandable Memory
Sensation XE - Micro SD, up to 32Gb
SGS2 - Micro SD, up to 32Gb
Dimensions
Sensation XE - 126.1 x 65.4 x 11.3 mm 151g
SGS2 - 125.3 x 66.1 x 8.49 mm 116g
Battery
Sensation XE - 1730Mah
SGS2 - 1650Mah
Camera
Sensation XE - 8MP, dual LED flash 2MP FF, 1080p video
SGS2 - 8MP, LED flash 0.3MP FF, 1080p video
So that's the specs, obviously in most categories the Sensation XE is the winner, but i would like to know what people who have actually used the phones think. There are some things other than the hardware which separate the two, such as Sense 3.0 on the XE, and Touchwiz on the SGS2. Not forgetting beats integration on the XE.
So that turned into a face off really, but still. What do you guys think? I'd love to here some suggestions as to which i should buy. I've had a Desire HD, rooted and S-Off'd obviously, and used sense 3.0 on that and it ran quite nicely, so a dual core processor should be even better. I'll stop now.
Look forwards to your responses guys Alex
Go for the sensation XE if you get them for free. I have sgs2 and I'm reallly satisfied. But HTC is newer, got good specs. I know you wont be unsatisfied with any of them. But if i was in your shoes then i would go for htc

In my opinion, the only thing better in the sensation is the build quality, the SGS2 is better in everything else, including the screen imo(+1 for full RGB setup)....
Also, the exynos SoC is better than all the crap qualcomm produces....
The sgs2 will be faster than the sensation, and the screen is great.
On rawr resolution the sensation may win, but the sgs2 has ammazing viewing angles, colour, contrast etc.
I would get the sgs2 over the sensation myself, but i don't like sense, so that's more of a personal thing.
In the end, hardware wise there both good, so it's a matter of software, goodness knows when htc will officially drag there phones to ics due to sense, i dont see samsung draging there heals so much, a lot of what was in touchwizz seems to have gone into ics.
Tl;dr both good, software I think is the deciding factor (I would vote sgs2 but that's because this is the sgs2 forum)

Yeah i got the Camera specs the wrong way around In benchmarks the SGS2 does seem to outperform the XE in things like linpack and Neocore. Full RGB is a plus on the screen front. I'm so confused :L I know what HTC are like though, so if i get the XE in a week or two they'll release something way better and i'll feel like a douchebag
Just came from a sensation to a galaxys2 today owned the HTC for 2months , all i can say is i will never miss the HTC over the gs2, your worrys about the res in the screen has no effect from the difference the SA+ screen, colors have no depth and look like they have a white glow on the sensation, mine was custom romed with beats profiles on it, it is good, however power amp does a better job. Build is good but fat and i got a slim line case and it felt like a brick. But sense 3.0/3.5 is great very flash and handy for social news feeds etc.
All i can say is have a try urself instore and make sure to look at the sensation screen compared to the gs2s ,
Oye and one other thing , my HTC from new out of the box had white dead pixels and showed up really bad at grey colours, they drove me crazy , also the HTC only has toughen glass vs the gorilla glass on the gs2 and i had a thick protecter on and it got scratched
Hope i helped

The only thing I don't want for an HTC phone is sense. As pretty and lust worthy as it is, the performance is subpar.
I had an HTC Desire for about a year and half, s-off and all that. I played with the Sensation as a few friends had them and being honest I'm happy I made the switch from HTC.
Not thinking about the UI the SGS2 is faster, I think the screen is better and everything is responsive. Rooting takes 5 minutes once you have it figured out. Ive only had it 2 weeks but its more responsive imo and using a sensation again felt like it was slow.
I'm still figuring it out really but they do feel really diffrrent in the hands. The sensation is heavier and feels more solid in the hand but also feels bigger. The SGS2 feels lighter but still tough, although it feels a bit cheaper it feels like it will last.
The Touch Wiz interface I do like. I also liked Sense with my last phone, TW is better with more options and functions as well as being fast and responsive. I'm just trying to get my head around it but I'm liking it a lot.
Oh and the battery life is awesome, a full day and half with light use and I had 20% left. I used gps, internet, made about 30 mins of calls, about 40 texts as well as syncing my gmail, hotmail, facebook, exchange email the whole time. I'm also still running the stock rom but rooted, I just use juice defender.
I hope that helps. Ask the same question in the sensation board and you will prob get the same about the HTC. It's really up to you, try both and see what you think. Look past the how the UI works and see how it feels you hand and also how responsive as well as accurate. You are going to be holding the phone for usually a year so it better feel right.

I'd get the sgs2 easily, reviews have showed the the bump from 1.2ghz to 1.5ghz hardly makes any difference on the XE, sgs2 has a better screen, more memory, is very light and with proper eq settings can easily outclass the bass heavy beats sound on the htc. let me not forget, it runs like a dream
Iv'e confused myself even more now Just checked out the Moto Razr and it looks amazing. And its super Amoled Advanced with qHD so best of SGS2 and Sensation. Damn you OEM's! Stop making great phones i can't choose between. Screw it i'll get an iPhone............... oh no wait i have a brain.
The Razr has a locked bootloader so if you want to flash a custom rom onto it, the Razr defeats the purpose. Also Motorola is horrible at updates and keeping customer's satisfied. Moreover Motorola's software is even more subpar than sense.
Yeh, unlocked bootloader and no need to s-off or anything is another good reason to go samsung or nexus.

Iv'e got a mac though. So no way of rooting as far as I'm aware of anyway for sgs2 or nexus s etc. The Razr looks awesome too. This is a real hard decision :/

That's the thing. if you don't need to root or something similar then the razr is all yours. Just weigh out whether you need root or not.

Yeah i suppose. Difficult decision. Might wait to see what HTC do with ICS
Galaxy nexus ftw. But if you cant get that than definetely get the RAZR or GSII. HTC offers great build quality but their software is buggy and hogs the battery. I enjoy TouchWiz and I also like Motorola's GingerBlur; its kind of nice.

I would say the SGSII for sure, i like HTC and my last phone was the superb HD2 but HTC sense is a resource hog and i always just flashed non sense ROM's but i do believe Samsung have overtaken HTC in the smartphone market and to date the SGSII is still the phone to beat.

Haha, almost in the same situation as you, dropped my Sensation from 50ft, had to go back to my Nexus One for two months and hated it after having a big screen, front facing camera, and dual core proc. I recently got an Amaze off insurance and man, this thing kills the Sensation feature wise. The only difference is about 256MB more ram (which really helps), NFC, and a 1.5GHz stock speed (instead of the stock speed of 1.2GHz on the Sensation, but you could overclock without any ill effects to 1.5GHz). But if you can shell out the extra cash, get the Amaze. The only gripes I have right now are some light bleeding from the capacitive buttons but you can turn them off with screen filter, and it's a little bit bulkier, but barley noticeable.
Amaze.
Amaze goes up to 42MB with HSPA+
Sensation goes up to 14.4MB. It doesn't have HSPA+.
Amaze has a 1.5GHz Dual Core
Sensation has a 1.2GHz Dual Core
Amaze runs really smooth. My brother has the Sensation and my phones runs better.
Plus hes running my old rom he will want to come here
I say if you like roms, get sensation, amaze forums are a ghost town comparatively my gf sold her sensation to get an amaze, and that lasted only a week, it was a downgrade

sensation has been out longer than the amaze. amaze has only been out for about two months where as the sensation has been out for six months...we are getting more roms, themes and support as time passes...My gf has the sensation and I'll tell you the Amaze feels much better, besides the flash bleed into the camera (easy fix), you are getting the best camera on the market...doesn't even compare to the sensation camera, I've played with both...I don't like the feel of the sensation...Overall amaze is a much better phone with some downfalls...like the screen bleed which I didn't even notice until people started mentioning it...and the camera flash bleed which is fixable with electrical tape...we have faux and xboarder and I think three other developers working on roms etc...I'm will talk to koush and see if he is willing to invest a little time in our community...I want to appreciate all the developers for their help.

The Sensation will be a year old 4 months, the Amaze is pretty new for all the devolopment it has. It will get better over here once we get CM fully working and ICS rolling. The Amaze also is more future proof with HTC updating it and has a much better camera. the RAM helps a lot too, that was one thing that bugged me about mine. i hated only have about 120mb of ram with just fb open or something
Ahh ok I'm deff gonna get the amaze then.. and what do you guys mean by bleeding? And yeah xboarder I liked your roms a lot when I had my G2, one of the most stable roms so ill deffinetley try yours firste when I get it my only thing is on the T-Mobile sit it didn't say anything about the Amaze having hotspot?

The capacitive buttons underneath the screen (home, menu, back, and search) when they light up the bottom of the screen is noticably brighter. So if you have a black screen and the buttons are lit up then for an inch or so at the bottom it will gradient from a lighter shade to actual black. There are some pictures in a thread called screen bleeding on the second or third page of this forum that show it.
I just downloaded Screen Filter which disables the light to the buttons like the previous poster mentioned which stops the screen bleeding.
And yea get the Amaze for sure, best phone I've had. Battery is a little lacking but with this ROM + perhaps an AceSoft battery (2 for $30) you may get decent life.
The amaze is a better phone to the sensation in every I can't use my amaze right now and I'm using the sensation and I hate after using the amaze even with ics the amaze is just smoother and a better phone. The camera, processor speed, data speeds, build quality, front cam, storage, nfc, and battery for me are all better then the amaze. The only advantage of the sensation is that it has more roms but x here does some great stuff and slowly more devs may get this phone as its still a pretty spendy device.

Mt friend got a Sensation and we noticed the Mic was not working well. Sound quality on voice calls were noticably bad. Maybe it was specific to that unit, idk?
My Amaze doesn't have that problem or any others for that matter.
Just short battery life!
Other than that, it is hands down the best smart phone I've had yet, it actually does everything, simultaneously.
I stream music, surf and make/receive calls or use Google nav., all at the same time. With little or no hiccups.

I am only unsure because of the lack of development.

Hey guys I didn't see another thread like this after looking around for quite a while if there is please forgive me and shoot me a link
So here it is what would you like to see in a new EVO ? The origonal EVO to me was a game changer that was way ahead of its time a great phone that for the most part still keeps up with most phones on the market today. The EVO 3D was well a good step in the right direction to me but not a whole new world. What would make a new EVO even more amazing than most of the other smart phones out there I would love to see....
Physical hardware:
-Bigger screen 4.7"
-Thinner design (everyone else is doing it I mean even Motorola which I have always considered to be crap has an incredibly thin phone)
-Better battery life by means of a larger capacity battery+software development)
-Speakers ! not speaker we want the option to make speakerphone calls to loud not the option to move it closer to your ear !
-Do not get rid of the micro sd card like the new one series !
-Sprint LTE (a given)
-More ram everyone is moving toward bigger processors i mean quad core but still with 1gb of ram ?
-Better GPU, my old Samsung Galaxy Tab seams to do better than my evo in this regard.
Software:
-Fast camera(sense4.0 seams to improve)
-Landscape home screen (sense4.0)
-Look at what the devs are doing I am running Eternity and its soo much faster than stock and better in every way.
When it comes down to it I think the EVO 3d is a great phone and unlike most people I actually use the 3D functionality and wouldn't mind them keeping it in the next model.
The popularity and development of the EVO 3D in my opnion has stemmed from the OG EVO and could not be much better IMHO there are allot of great devs working on the EVO and I know that is what has kept me from switching to the Samsung S2. I hope the next round of HTC phones on sprint can live up to the competition in order to keep this great development community together !
So enough of my rambling what do you want in your next HTC from Sprint (EVO)!?!?!
EDIT: I really don't care if its $350 on contract I just want the best quality phone with all the features !
Print money of course but after that, option on Sense 4 to get the old pre-Sense 4 rosie back. I HATE the new Sense rosie! Might as well use launcher pro plus which hasn't been updated in almost a year.
I've been ripping on HTC lately but to be honest, if they announced another 3D Android phone, I'm all in.
What would I like to see? 3D with better cameras and ZSL. A full 720p 3D screen that doesn't cut the pixel count in half when in 3D.
After that it's all gravy. I just want another 3D phone with better features than the current EVO 3D.
Honestly though, if the specs 'leaked' for the Galaxy S III are real, (full 1080p screen) I think I'm jumping ship this year.
It'd be the first time in the better part of a decade that my *main* smartphone wasn't an HTC. :^\
Bring back the kickstand!
If they include 3D, then I'm in
Better battery, sd card slot, quad core, nice screen but not too big.
We're comin from a pure power source.
Lose the 3D, give me 4.7" and tegra 3

Have you not seen the recently announced "HTC One X" at least that's what it will be called in the UK. Google it, its quad core, 720p screen etc, no 3d though....
For me, a screen size between 4.3 and 4.5...anything bigger just seems like overkill, but then again, I though 4.3 was before getting my first EVO! I agree, it's gotta be thin but have good battery life...maybe an HTC version of the RAZR Maxx? Sprint LTE, Qualcomm S4, sense 4.0 (with an UNLOCKED bootloader none of this HBOOT 1.5 crap HTC!!), kickstand, 720p screen, and that's about it! can't wait to buy it haha
Well just bought my girlfriend am evolution 3D off craigslist to use instrlead of her iPhone and after less than a day she is back to her iPhone. Why .... The speaker! Nothing else she likes everything else better about the evolution but spends to much time on speaker phone and it annoyed her.... You here that HTC! Make it loud... I have never really used an iPhones speakerphone before yeaterday or music and all I can say is wow that thing is loud and clear as can be.
I guess when it comes down to it for pure phone / camera functionality iPhone kills any android I've used. Wake up HTC!
Don't getvme wrong ill never have an iPhone

Quad core. Thinner and lighter. Kickstand. Better camera. Higher screen resolution. Go back to a HDMI cord that is actually useable (stupid dongle). LTE of course.
Samsung has been tempting me lately. HTC better bring it.
Newest Quad Core with a speed of atleast 1.2Ghz with Turbboost to 1.5Ghz like on the Intel I series Chips. 1.5 to 2 Gb of Ram. 16 Gb Internal memory + 64 Gb SD card included (yeah right not gonna happen with Sprint). Retain the 4.3" 16:9 ratio screen (Like the feel of the 3D much better in hand than the OG 4G) but with 1080p. If they keep 3D (I dought they will) no half definition for 3D mode. A lag free 8 or 12mp (Dual 8mp if retaining 3D) Camera with much better low light sensitivity and FULL functionality like on the Amaze4G. Ofcourse retain SD slot. Retain Camera Button (Me Likey Likey). Maybe move wake button to right side of phone above volume rockers...maybe. Include HML adapter with phone (Cheapskates). Dual Stereo speakers with actual output and a kickstand...even if it kills space for 3D hardware. 2300mah Battery. If even it was 2mm thicker than what we have now it would be ok...it would be a beast. Dual Band WiMax 4G and 4G LTE Radios would be excellent unless they are going to cut contracts with ClearWire then it doesn't matter just 4GLTE.
Now to stuff this in an envelope and mail it to Sprint - Attn: Santa Clause Department / PipeDreamers
But I would buy one tomorrow if it came out...Love my HTC phones.
I will love it if the Battery lasted a few more hours specially when using wifi or the 3d camera also make the camera a lot more faster the EVO 3D take like 2 to 3 second to snap just one pic in 3D. it will be nice if they can improve the camera quality. Make the phone Quadcore plz make speaker louder or at least make them sound a lot better not like some cheap speakers. make it so that we can switch song long pressing the volumes key on the EVO 3D and try to ad a fell new Features or make some optional updates periodically
Galaxy Nexus LTE(Sprint) or HTC EVO 4G LTE(Sprint)
Hi everybody, my Sprint contract is due to end in a couple days and I'm just wondering which of these two great phone I should get. For my needs they are basically the same, the aspect that matters the most to me is developer support. Thanks for the support and info!!!
I am at the moment choosing the HTC Evo 4G LTE, Only because its S4 krait processor is much, much better than the OMAP 4460 in the Galaxy Nexus. May prove to have the brawn to play 720p 10-bit mkv's (anime) on the CPU (when GPU Acceleration is not allowed). I tested the Nexus (in store demo) on that front and it lags, otherwise plays video, audio, subs fine, just the video lags. Only because it doesn't support the videos format for GPU Acceleration. I dont know though... maybe OC'ing it would've been enough. But regardless the Evo4GLTE is proving to be quite the runner up.
I may have chosen the Evo over the nexus, but i would still love to have the nexus only because i know it'll have development support first. (being a google device and all).
Of course if i could have both, then id be even happier. And that's maybe what i'll do, Get both so i can switch back and forth to aid in deciding which one wins (after full development support is in full swing for both devices). I have a strong feeling the Evo may be the winner if and when CM9 is ported to it fully working.
i Also think the Non-Pentile screen on the Evo works in its favor. The Nexus's Super AMOLED is pretty, just a tad over saturated in colors a bit, in my opinion.
(Update: Also you're forgetting the Evo well also have all the sensors "Compass (Magnetometer), Proximity, Ambient light, Gyroscope,
Accelerometer" minus the barometer.)
(Update 2: And not only is the S4 Processor better than the OMAP 4460, but the Adreno 225 GPU (Found in the S4 Krait SOC) is multitudes better than that crummy SGX 540 GPU)
(Update 3 - 4/07/12: And then i saw this video about the design, and i actually think the Evo LTE is a lot sexier than i gave it credit for.

Look at how THIN that thing is when the guy is holding it up to his face!!! It has the back shape of an 4G iPod Touch made with material of the iPhone 3G/s Gloss and HTC Sensation Metallic finish. And Edges like the iPhone 4's metal outer rim/antenna, with the added bonus of it being unibody. (minus the Glossy polycarbonate flap that is removable)
From what you(ranmasaotome510) are saying which is a little more info than I had, I think i'm leaning towards the EVO 4G LTE as well, I just hope the dev support is as good as it has been with the original EVO 4G. I'll keep looking back for more opinions anyways so guys you are welcome to put in your grain of sand. Thanks!!!
Great post op!
I am leaning toward the HTC Evo 4G LTE as well. I love that they bring the kickstand back. It would suck if the battery is not removable.
Do we know the size of the SD card it comes with?
How about the HDMI port?
FYI - Here are some nice screenshots of the Evo 4G LTE. http://www.engadget.com/photos/sprint-htv-evo-4g-lte-hands-on/#4940845

the battery is not removable, however i think that's a non-issue, as 2000mah on this guy is going to be PLENTY for many.
my bet is it wont come with any Micro SD card, as the device itself already has 16GB internal memory. the Micro SD card slot is just a nice touch and function they added for those of us who would love expandable memory.
The HDMI port is of the MHL type, you need a MHL adapter to HDMI to make use of it. otherwise its there and fully functional and does full screen mirroring like the Evo 3D did.
More on MHL: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mobile_High-definition_Link
The micro-usb port is MHL compatible.
same here
Important thinking the same thing. the only thing that's deferring me from the EVO 4G LTE is the non removable battery and also thinking how this Will affect future rooters .

how does a non removable battery affect rooters? i fail to see your logic on that.
there already is some dev on xda who bought a leaked att one x on ebay and surprisingly it has full s-off. Otherwise the devs already have a head start and have already rooted the device iirc.
non-removable batteries means the phone has a mechanism, usually a button combination that allows you to force shut down the phone, much like the xoom. It is separate from the OS so freezes don't effect it.
(Update: heres the thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1584165)
hmmm..
I guess i was looking at the fact most rooting procedures sometimes they use the option to pull battery causing a hard boot. I guess sometimes when that three button procedure didn't work there was always that last method of battery pull to give the cpu a jolt. But if you're saying that the devs found a way around this issue then that's great, but you know we have all ran into that problem when the push button feature just didn't work and resulted back to the old battery pull. What do you think the pros and cons are for non removable and removable battery phones In class

well the problem is, phones WITH removable batteries usually 95% don't have that button combination to force the phone off.
Unfortunately I've gotten into the habit of never, ever charging my phone. I abuse the crap out of it then just switch batteries when it dies. Though I only use two 1500 mah batteries a day (and rarely deplete both), so I should be fine with charging it here and there. I haven't been looking forward to my upgrade until now, so this is great.
I will, of course, make sure that the development community is existent before upgrading. As long as there's decent AOSP support then I'm happy.
Will be replacing my original EVO 4G soon. Was definitely going to get the Galaxy Nexus (my first Nexus device), but the 4G LTE looks very tempting.
I really wanted to go with a Nexus, but am afraid the LTE is too much better to pass up.
Will be watching this thread with interest!
Having a tough time deciding too

I had been 100% on getting the Galaxy Nexus when it launches later this month, but the new Evo LTE looks really cool, so now I'm not sure which to go with.
The Evo has a better camera - that's one of the features I love about the regular Evo 4G. Looks like it'll have better sound quality as well with the HD sound. But the problems with the USB ports breaking on the motherboard of the Evo has been a real hassle for me, I'm very gentle with my phone and I've had two where the USB port has come loose/stopped working. I wonder if the USB port has been redesigned to be more robust on the new Evo LTE? I also don't like the idea of a non-replaceable battery.
Right now I'm on my second Evo 4G with a busted USB port, and the only thing that's saving me is the fact that I can pop out the battery and charge it with an external charger. If it had a non-replaceable battery I'd be hosed.
So...heck I don't know. It'll be one or the other, just not sure yet. I do like the one-click rooting tool that Wug has up over on Androidcentral for the Galaxy Nexus. Very slick.
Also unsure
That's funny that's exactly the situation I'm in. I've been dealing with a broken USB port on my EVO 4G for months now. I've been eagerly waiting for and planning on getting the galaxy nexus to replace my POS EVO, especially since I discovered the general goodness of AOSP after installing Cyanogenmod on my EVO. The EVO 4G LTE looks really good but
(1) i have already been waiting for months to replace my old EVO
(2) the broken USB thing makes me really worried about HTC's build quality
there are other pros as well as cons. Tough choice!

The thing is, I really like the HTC build quality, other than the USB port It's a great device other than that. But I really like the idea of having replaceable batteries, and the Evo LTE clearly won't have that.
Oh...and now I hear that the Samsung Galaxy S3 will be out in July, so now I've got three to pick from: Galaxy Nexus, Galaxy S3, and Evo LTE. My choice just got harder.
I am leaning more towards the Nexus simply because..well its a Nexus! Yes the Evo is tempting but since the Evo packs a 1.5 dual core and the Nexus has a 1.2 dual core, it doesnt seem to make a HUGE leap for me. I have read several reviews includint Phone Arena's video of the HTC One X vs Galaxy Nexus and they gave the winning bid to the Nexus! Simply based on software, The Verge is also saying that they too as well would pick the Nexus! That's crazy! A phone that came out in Nov 2011 can match up to a phone that hasnt come out yet..... Its all software related since the Galaxy Nexus is a Google phone.
I do agree that the Evo has a better screen, but come on, the GN beats out MOST phones out now! Not to mention the Galaxy Nexus keeps up with the Evo camera yet its only a 5 megapixel!
Yes the Evo look like the winner NOW but in 5 months when a newer version of Android comes rolling out, you will wish you had chosen the Nexus.
The more I read, the more I'm leaning towards the Samsung as well. But the question is...jump on the GNex now when it launches in April, or wait another couple months and get the S3?
I don't know how much better the S3 is going to be than the Nexus...
I was thinking about getting both....but I think I'll snag an EVO LTE on release and wait to see if Sprint gets a Galaxy SIII variant.
I really like both phones, leaning towards evo because of the specs, but currently I have the evo3d and the only reason I haven't rooted it and ran another rom is because no aosp rom has 4g or the camera working, I'd really hate for that to be the case with the evo 4g lte
That's a good point, and another reason to go for the Nexus. There is already a one-click rooting tool available for it that is really slick.

The nexus is ready to pre-preorder as of today. http://sprint.us/gnexus
I am difinitely getting the EVO simply because it is a much better phone. I have had my EVO 4G since it came out two years ago and have not had any issues with it. I am actually hoping to get it replaced so I could sell the replacement since I will be getting the EVO but again it has no issues at all. So I cant get it replaced.
I don't know about this usb issues some of you have experienced.

No Amaze...I received another Sensation. Mods, please close the thread. Thanks.
Welcome and hope you enjoy your stay lol
Enjoy our wonderful community! Make sure to read the Amaze Bible to understand what we have to offer
Hey welcome buddy!
Amaze vs Sensation?
Perfect person to ask my question to.....
I'm busy buying phones to switch family lines over to T-Mobile. I bought one like-new sensation. Debating between a new Amaze or another pristtine like-new Sensation for my son. Amaze has a faster processor, more RAM. But it weighs more. Is battery life worse?
Basically the same price for either one. Are there any other factors I should be considering? Your recommendations from using both?
Thanks...

I sold my amaze to go back to the sensation, as I understand the amaze and the sensation have the same snapdragon s3 only that the amaze comes with higher clock, witch with a custom kernel it doesnt matter, another thing I loved the amaze but Im always flashing roms and all the stuff and the sensation have more to offer, if HTC ever release the needed drivers i might go back but as the sensation being a worldwide (more devs) phone I dont know,
I've had the Amaze going on 10 days now. Got it as a insurance claim after my G2x felt like checking out the toilet water. Seriously, compared to the G2x, this device is light years ahead.
Haven't rooted and the only reason to do so is to delete some of this T-Mobile crap. The stock rom is excellent. Of all the Android phones I've owned, this is the closet to 5 stars as I've seen.
The G2x is vanilla Android. Simply it's just too vanilla. I prefer HTC's Sense. Some color. Some spice. There are a lot of apps on the market the mimic Sense but they don't come close. From weather widget to stocks, nothing on the market compares. Beautiful Widgets? HD Widgets? They have their shinning points but they can't compare to Sense.
All and all there is no comparison between LG and HTC when it comes to device build - HTC makes a better device no questions asked - I haven't had one FC since I've had it. The G2x would force close two to three times a day. That was with the stock rom. With custom roms, because of Nvidia's total lack of support with releasing the needed drivers for video, video was terrible. No Netflix and no video recording unless you used 3rd party apps.
This is a fantastic device. I'm pleased.

Lol please don't compare the amaze to the sensation
The amaze has a much better screen, waayyyy better camera, 1gb of ram and has 16gb of internal memory, not to mention 3x the data speeds, and the better front facing front camera, and dedicated camcorder button

Agreed. Sometimes it's annoying we don't have everything to have a full blown dev community like the sensation, but then I remember how awesome this phone is and I feel good about my decision again.

Well, talking about hardware, Amaze is far more advance than Sensation. Only thing I miss is CM9/AOKP that fully functioning on this device. I love to have less eyes candy for more battery and ram performance.
