I've been running a 4.1.1 jelly bean rooted with CWM Touch on my S 3 for a while, and for some battery problems I've had to return the mobile for stock unrooted ROM to visit the Sam Customer service, so I flashed the XXABLFB using Odin3 then done a factory reset with the code:
*2767*3855#
It all went well .. and the mobile now is android ICS 4.0.1 .. but when I try to do the OTA update to turn to jelly bean it says no update available, and kies gives a "not supported firmware version:

I tried also to reroot the phone and reflash the CWM to do a full format but the odin3 keeps giving me "FAIL" messages.
any suggestions ?!
You are in Egypt? I suspect that the firmware that you have flashed is not intended for the region? top of my head, XX is European/British based ROMs, or that JB update is yet to be released in Egypt through your mobile carrier?
What I would recommend for you to do now, send the phone to SSC to resolve your initial issue since the phone is already unrooted. In particular situations should SSC not repair your phone and provide you with a replacement unit, you would be wasting your time in trying to get JB update etc...
You have Korean firmware on a non Korean product .
CSC= KOR .
Join XDA Developers and flash stock rom .

I recently bought a Galaxy S II here in Australia and it came with a stock Samsung firmware. Typing *#1234# gave this information:
PDA :- I9100XWKF3
Phone :- I9100XXKE7
CSC :- I9100XSAKE3
I have been flashing the phone over the weekend with custom ROMs but I didn't like any of them (some of them would not even connect to samsung's Kies software). I have been trying to find which firmware would restore my phone to its just-bought condition, but I can't seem to locate it in the SamFirmware.com firmware list.
Help please? Thanks.
Stock firmware or provider firmware in Dev section.

Actually, I've already been there. My problem is that, confronted with the unexplained alphabet soup that is the firmware names, I still can't seem to find one which matches the above details. Unless there's a convention I don't know.
information can be found on the following page. the last 5 letter+number in your PDA and Phone info are what you need to match the stock roms to your phone (in this case, XWKF3 and XXKE7). instruction is at the top of that page as well. hope it helps, buddy. best of luck!

A big thank you to dchn2 and intratech for their pointers (and intratech, again, for his wonderful stock firmware thread). I have no idea why it didn't come up when I did my searches but it has been a great read.
I would like to upgrade my phone to the official Ice Cream Sandwich update for the UK. I plugged in my Galaxy S2 which is still on the stock rom it came from the shop with. It's a generic unlocked SIM phone. I was greeted with this:

When I click update, I accept the terms and conditions etc and click 'start upgrade', and it starts downloading the firmware upgrade components. Once it is done downloading, it asks for administrator settings. A few seconds later after approving it, it returns to the start page of Kies and then presents me with the exact same prompt as in the picture. This cycle has happened several times now, and I've tried to run Kies with administrator settings which hasn't helped. No changes have happened to my phone at all.
Although I have flashed ROMs onto my old Galaxy S, I would like to avoid using Odin as much as possible for my S2 for various reasons. I haven't even rooted this one and have had no need to do so. If any of you could suggest a way to fix this or something that I've missed so I can update without using Odin I would be very grateful. I suppose if there really is no alternative (Kies being the buggy software that it is) then I will resort to using Odin.
Hopefully this is in the correct section. Thanks.
You might want to blank out your mobile number You wouldnt want to be inundated with unwanted txt's off of strange XDA users
Thanks, didn't notice that
Search for CHECKFUS
Then download that firmware direct and flash via Odin will rule out Kies problems .

Well you can get a stock firmware from www.sammobile.com and flash through Odin, but I have heard that 4.0.4 is buggy. I would probably stick with what you have now

try to download and install the original 4.0.3 rom + kernel of the sammobile site
Just got a GS3 and after I configured it all I received an update msg from the system. It downloaded everything properly but when it rebooted to start installing it gave me that signature fail msg. It won´t update via kies either.
The phone is rooted and it has CWM installed on it.
Any thoughts? I don´t want to install new roms, mods, etc. I just want the phone to be able to get Samsungs´ updates, that´s all.
Here is my data:

As per the exact same question posted hundreds of times .
Root fails OTA upgrades .
Remove root before OTA .
Or try Kies or flash stock rom via Odin .
jje
I´m going to try this: http://rootgalaxys3iii.com/unroot-galaxy-s3-2/ . It seems simple enough. I just hope it won´t root again after reboot.
It didn´t work via kies or rebooting. If I could only know what update it is I could just flash it. I just don´t want to have to flash another rom and have to reconfigure the phone all over again.
Use CHECKFUS .

The developer says it no longer works. I´ve tried it out and it really doesn´t.
When OTA is in progress it downloads the update somewhere, right? Is it possible to unroot using rootkeeper, then download the update and flash it without restarting the phone somehow?
Do you guys think that if I flash to stock kernel it will work? I bought it second hand and I have the feeling this is not a stock kernel.
Hi,
I have tried to upgrade my Samsung J510FN/DD to Nougat 7.1.1 over Odin. I downloaded the nougat firmware that is ''J510FNXXU2BQK5_J510FNODD2BQJ7_J510FNDDU2BQK1_HOME.tar.md5'' . After the 'erasing' step, i am facing this problem

. It goes upto 25%, then phone reboots and again goes to 25%. After happening this several times, i get this screen
.
I have tried the process several times, and the same problem exists.
Please help me. I cannot turn on my phone now. is there any recovery from here?
Thanks in advance!
Hi , try to flash with German Firmware or try to find on the internet 4 fails for Odin for your device .
Problem that your device won't turn on :
- maybe your battery is empty
- you don't have bootloader because the files was stoped up to 25% which makes bottable partition corypted
# Try to let your battery to dry and then put on charger .
https://updato.com/firmware-archive-select-model?record=90594975E4A311E7A5F9FA163EE8F90B
Hi,
Thank you for your reply.
I have checked the battery. it is ok.
I have downloaded the firmware from updato. I downloaded the firmware for India region.
# does the firmware for Germany suit my model?
# I don't know how to setup boot loader.
if you get time please take a look on this issue.
thanks again.
