Hi, just flashed the latest CM7 nightly and sirah kernel, everything runs perfect and I'm really pleased with it. Only 1 issue, when connecting to my PC and selecting USB storage from notification bar it only lets me access the external SD card and not the internal, the internal one is just grayed out in 'my computer'. Any help is appreciated, thanks.

Bump. Has nobody else had the issue with internal storage not mounting? Cheers.

Hey guys I'm running the alpha 15 of CM9 and was wondering if there was a way to change default storage. On cm7 I used the ext SD card as my default storage and noticed there is no setting in CM9 like in CM7 that allows you to change default storage. Any way to do this? Also I know others running a stock ROM rooted would like to know if there us a way too. Thanks

I'm thinking that is something you might have to set in any app that uses the sd card. Seems like it would make more sense to have it done in phone settings though.
Some apps you can but preprogrammed games like gta 3 don't let you

You can move the files yourself. It's kind of annoying but that's what I do to get games working on a rom that switches the storage on me. (And to avoid downloading it all again)

Well I would but not enough room lol. What can I say I love my games. Pretty much why I got the phone

My phone freezes on any games I play. Once I play for about
5 minutes, everything freezes up except the music. What can I do to fix this?

If your rooted and have a custom kernel, try "voltage control" app to change governor and scheduler.

I'm not rooted, what should I do? Root my phone?

Are the games file stored on your sdcard? What class is your card? Maybe your games aren't designed for dual core?
Check your sdcard is not corrupted.

Sounds to me like you're experiencing problems related to Issue 17623 SoundPool HeapDump on DualCore
If that is the case, you've got a few choices:
1). Disable sound effects (not just mute).
2). Use a kernel with 2nd Core support and disable one core.
3). Update to a newer ROM. I first noticed the problem being resolved in the XXKL1 ROM, but it's possible it was resolved prior to that.
Does anyone else occasionally experience an app mysteriously vanishing after restarting your phone? It's not as frequent anymore but it will happen to me with certain apps.
I'm wondering if this is because somehow they aren't compatible with my 64GB microSD- IF that's the default save location or if anyone else is experiencing this.
Thanks!

First of all, apps can't be saved on the microSD card on this phone. Check my FAQs on that.
Secondly, I've heard of disabled apps re-installing themselves on our phone on reboot, but not the other way around. Can you tell us which apps are doing that?
Airdroid, Fatbooth, FartDroid, etc... you know.... important apps... lol. This is my second phone to do it. The XDA app used to do it too. Some others as well. Their icons still show in folders but when you click it says the app is not installed.

I've experienced the same problem. They will randomly come back to life, but it seems if apps are stored on what the phone thinks is the SD card rather than the internal storage, it has a greater tenancy to vanish.
I've had this happen a few times. I have not noticed whether they are apps I have moved to the phone storage area or not.
When I move them, they seem to be ok. That is until an update for that app, if I restart before moving it back it'll delete.

Last night I moved my apps from internal to phone storage to make more space. After a while, my phone died. When I turned it back on, guess what? 90% of the apps vanished from my phone. Here I am redownloading everything... is this normal or does my phone have problems?

I just restarted my phone and these apps deleted..

I'm trying to move them to internal storage to prevent them from deleting but of course I have no space -_-

That same kind of thing happens to me. ADW remembers the apps where there, but can't launch them.
Guys, do me a favor and call HTC. They have nooo idea about this bug.

Any commonality between you three who have seen this? One is using ADW launcher....
I might return and exchange the phone. No apps will save to phone storage and it keeps telling me I have insufficient storage in the internal storage.... Can anyone save to phone storage, restart and see if apps are still there?

No issues here

Might be something with your handset I have 1.6GB on phone storage and haven't had any apps self delete. I have run out of space on the internal storage, 1GB there isn't much. My plan is to s-off over Christmas when work shuts down and see if any progress has been made being able to move apps to the external SD. There was some talk about it a while ago.
Thanks for the response! Perhaps I have an issue with my phone. If I move apps to phone storage they will be completely deleted upon reset.
When I click apps on phone storage it shows the apps that are really in internal storage but when you click the apps they say "move to phone storage". Very strange.
I'll do a factory reset and see if it helps the issue.
How many apps do you have on phone storage?

I hope so! I'm going to do a factory reset tomorrow and see what happens. If it's not fixed I'll replace it after Christmas that way they should have a fresh batch. My last Inc 4g had the same issue.

Well I just got a replacement..... same issue. I'm so bummed by this phone and HTC. Any suggestions for a new phone with an SD card slot? Verizon is about to hook it up. I like the DNA but I hear there's no SD slot.

Dont go, root it and try my sdcard swap mod on development section, and fix permissions and i recommend viper rom, that made that error go for me

They are sending another replacement....... if it doesn't work I'll do it. Can you give me instructions or tell me where to go? I haven't rooted in ages and can't afford to ruin my phone.

So I wanted to try AOKP out on my Note II and I like it. However, after coming from CyanogenMod 10.1 where I could use my 64gb sd card, when I put AOKP on, my sd card could no longer be read. Any suggestions? Do I need to format it? Thanks!
Bump! Any input? I really liked some of the customization features (esp AOKP Dark, battery icon was nice too) and Action Launcher didn't make my icons and spacing all weird. I know some Roms require you to format the SD card, but I didn't see that as a step that needed to be done.
Thanks!

Probably because the ROM has a kernel that doesn't support exfat. That's probably what your sdcard is. There's a thread with a file that mounts it for you but I forget where it is.
Sent from my SCH-I605 using xda premium
That was my guess, but I hadn't seen that as a something needed so I wasn't going to do that unless needed. I'll probably just wait for now and see how all the 4.3 work turns out for CM and AOKP. Thanks!
