Hi guys, just wondering if anyone knows how to force android to remember the default app? It seems to forget and constantly needs me to pick the default app.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 2
Just click on "always" and it should remember it for good (or until another app that can open this type of file/link is installed)
I've tried that :/
Keeps on asking, even after I've clicked "always". Nothing has been installed or updated that uses the files.

That's an isolated case, you need to provide more info.
I'm on the latest UK firmware ELLA, the two programs that show up are ES Image Browser and Gallery.

what action are you performing?
I downloaded an image from the Internet (dolphin browser) and opened it from the status bar. Also happened with mp3s. The dialog comes up every time.

Can anybody tell me how to fix this annoying problem? I've created 3 folders in menu to separate my games, app and multimedia app from each other. Everytime i turn off my phone to charge it,when i turn it on all the icons from my 3 folders are out of them. They do not stay in treir folders! It' s really really annoying to sort them everytime. It's like my phone cannot remember this task.I have stock 2.3.5.

Two suggestions:
1. Go to Settings menu => Applications => Manage applications => All => TwLauncher => Clear data.
You may have to reboot your phone.
2. Use another launcher app, such as Nemus Launcher from the Market to organize your apps.
App folders are also possible.
Good luck !
I don't have twlauncher

We all have Twlauncher on stock rom... Have you looked in the 'ALL' tab in the manage application settings?
Sent from my GT-I9100
Yes,I've looked in All (it's between "downloaded" tab and "on sd card tab"). It's not there. Maybe that is my problem. Can I add it or something?
As i said I'm on stock(orange carrier) 2.3.5.

So in the Play Store app, in settings, you UNchecked the option "Auto-add shortcuts"? I ask, because you said you unchecked "create shortcut", but I don't have that option with that exact name on my phone...
is it the same app creating shortcuts or all the apps you [email protected]?
if it is one app, if it creats shortcut everytime you run it, it is created by application. If it creates sjortcut everytime you downloaded and inatalled it, it is created by play market.
are you using touch wiz home or 3rd party home app?if it is 3rd party home and was told no room on screen while actually you have, there may be some incompatibily and you can try other home app or report the issue to developer.

Hi everyone. I recently downloaded gallery vault by thinkyeah and I like it because it doesn't appear on my phone at all except when you call using ##passcode. However I accidentally stopped the program that will open it using the ##passcode and now have no way of retrieving my hidden files. Any help would be great.
Now, when I call ##passcode my phone literally dials and calls it as opposed to automatically running the app.

Even when I go to the google play link, there is just an "uninstall" button where there usually is an "open" or run app button.
Sent from my GT-N7100 using Tapatalk 2
Go to /system/app and run the apk.
Sent from my GT-N7100 using Tapatalk 2
Thanks but the apk isn't there. I checked...
Sent from my GT-N7100 using Tapatalk 2
Try to uninstall and reinstall the app it should automatically take the hidden files
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda app-developers app
If you stopped it when you reboot the phone must be working again.
You can uninstall it, the images are placed in .thinkyeah folder and stands there after uninstall.
Btw, the installed app is in data/app, but you can't launch from there.

its very easy .
Go in your phone settings, then chose lock screen/ security ( not sure if its the same words in the phone as I have my menu in french ((Ecran de Verrouillage / securité )) then go all the way down in that menu and open something like " Other security parameters" in french (( Autres parametres de securité))
then " administrator Peripheral " in french I have (( Administrateur de peripherique))
and there you will see a few apps, and you can chose Adminsitrator or not, your vault is in " green" make it Off ( grey color)
that's all

I know we have to uninstall Facebook and Messenger in order to install Facebook Home. Since Facebook is integrated with HTC, how do we accomplish this?

Once you're rooted and either s-off or installing a kernel that allows write to system, then you use an app like root explorer to delete those apps from system/app.

Try disabling the native FB ap before you download the hacked version then reset up facebook from there. Worked for me stock dNA

The version I installed from these forums included a ~17mb Katana (fb app) apk and a ~260kb fb home apk, I just installed the Katana apk (installed over old one) and then installed home apk. It said "facebook home isn't for your device yet", then went to the fb app, which said "finish setup" and then it asked me to choose HTC Sense or Facebook Home as a default launcher and I chose home, and it works perfect.
Although I highly recommend you go into apps settings and turn on forced GPU 2D rendering for Facebook, as it lags alot without it.
I got it running (actually liking it so far ) but my messages won't show the keyboard? I can't respond. The messages go all the way to the bottom.

The Messenger App just won't let me enter text in for text messages. That's the problem. I used to the guide on XDA to install the com.orca (messenger). Texts notify and display, chat heads shows up. Just no way for me to send texts thru it.

Bump...for interest. Anyone got version 1.1 apk working or as a lock screen?
Whenever I long-press on a photo to save, it says "Saving photo" but the download icon on the top left of the notification bar doesn't appear, and I can't find the photo anywhere in the phone. I've used root explorer to search, and I have it plugged in my laptop to search manually.
This is strange. I can download .zips, and .PDF's, but not photos.
Anyone got one for this?

There should be a pop-up when you want to save a picture. Does that happen? I assume you looked in the phones download folder. How much memory do you have available?
When I long press on a photo I have the option to save image. I tab it, and it said its saving photo. But there is no download icon on the top left of the notification bar.
Yes I've looked through the phone. No images that I've saved since this issue has been there.

From reading this, I take it that you are referring to the option to save the photo within the browser, correct? Please confirm, as I don't use the stock browser.

Within Chrome. I have the option to save. But it simply doesn't.
