Hi all
I'm not sure if its just me, but the type of vibration I feel from pressing a key on the Samsung IME keyboard is very snappy and realistic and "buttony"; whereas if you use a non-stock keyboard, it just feels like a blunt thud.
I've tried to mess around with the timing on the other keyboards but it just doesnt feel the same. I've looked all around to see if anyone has recreated this effect but to no avail.
I just wanted to know if anyone has pin-pointed what makes the default keyboard just "click"; and if so- be able to make this a customisable feature whether part of a kernel or anything like that.
I am using MIUI official 2.12.29 with Siyah Kernel v5.0.1 if it helps
Thank you in advance.

hi,
loving many of the new ics roms around, apart from 2 fundamental things, the camera app and the fact i have no return key on my swype keyboard, its a smiley key (WTF!) ive searched around a lot trying to find the answer to this, seems there is none, using the jap swype gives me the return key back, but this sends the text rather than goes to next line.
using go sms gives my the keyboard functions as they "should" be, but dont like it too much.
im using Resurrection remix, can i add the sammy apps i desire into this??
im guess the answer is no.
so, is there anyway i can "recook" this rom to add the sammy apps i want?
thanks in advance.
if resurection rom is aosp then no you cant put samsung apps on it
Does anyone else feel like the keyboard in ICS is really laggy?
Especially in apps such as WhatsApp. It just doesn't feel as responsive as GB.
I've installed other keyboards such as GO Keyboard and Swift 3 but to no avail.
Any help please?
hey guys, im loving my verizon galaxy s3 and i currently running a leak JB rom for it and like it but i miss AOSP i was on aokp and liked it allot but i hated how strong and long the haptic feedback is when pressing back and menu hardware keys as well as other keys that activate it.
i can control the power the the keyboard haptic feedback but cant figure out how to with the system stuff?
can someone please help me if theres an app for this or if i can edit a system file that allows me to do what i want? thanks
bump for the same request, I know there is Ktoonz kernel but I don't like to run custom kernels very much.
Essentially all phones I've used I've been using the 3 by 3 keypad, I know exactly where all the keys are and I can type much faster with it. I have found that since I've updated my phone from foxhound build, there seem to be no new builds that have the old fashion keypad. I don't know if it's just called the samsung keypad or what but I really prefer the old style I can actually type properly without having to focus too intently. That and my thumbs are wide and usually hit the wrong keys. Could someone point me to the right ROM or addition to be able to add to my phone. Currently using SuperNexus

"NEAT ROM FTW"
I know that this looks like it has been asked a dozen times, but I assure you that I have looked high and low and have installed literally 10 or so keyboards trying to compare features.
Here's what I am looking for (if it's possible):
Looking for a port of the keyboard that comes with AOKP 4.2.2 Milestone 1 or later. I know that there are tons of Jellybean keyboards out there and they even have gesture typing, but the one that comes with AOKP has the long press alternate keys exactly where I want them as well as the right selection.
I have tried the Google Keyboard from the Play Store and it doesn't have the long press alternates (aside for a select few that aren't labled).
Does anyone know how I can get this keyboard to work on my Note II? I have even gone so far as to extract it from an AOKP ROM and it loads fine, however the gesture typing does not work (just shows the gesture trail but doesn't type anything)
Is this at all possible? Can anyone help?
Thanks in advance!

If AOKP is like the other AOSP Roms then the keyboard is the Google keyboard, unless they are using the older AOSP keyboard which is the same thing with a different name. AOKP may just use a different one but I doubt that.
Have you tweaked with the settings in the keyboard once installed to make sure the gesture trail is turned on?
You might get more help in the Themes section seeing how they deal with a lot of keyboards and mods for keyboards.

I tried everything. Gesture trail is turned on. The keyboard version is 4.2.2. Not really sure what else to do. Seems like maybe a lib file is missing or something.
