u have to connect your xda to your pc with microsoft activsync 3.5
unzip the file then copy them into xda ,click on the sutup file
then system wil ask u to soft rest/restart and thets it
Just copy the *.cab file (containing 3 files) to your XDA and run it from there. (double click on the *.cab file while using the explorer of the XDA)
Greetings, Kaputter

please guest could you tell me how to get the sms message up
please email me at [email protected]
- Unpack the compressed file on your PC (if you have a ".zip" file), you should end-up with a file with a ".cab" extension.
- Now transfer this file to your device with ActiveSync, don't worry about the directorie, just put it on the device.
- Now, on your device, find the ".cab" file using the file explorer.
- Double click the ".cab" file, it should install itself.
- After this you can delete the ".cab" file but don't be surprized if it is allready gone, that is normal.
Now it should work!
I emailed you the file + the instructions

Hello,
someone knows if it possible (and how) extract Wallpapers from the firmware downloaded with NaviFirm?
Thanks
I haven't explored the sync features in Zune yet - are you sure you can't get them through that??
Otherwise, .esco files can be opened like a normal zip. Look for the big .esco firmware file (around ~370MB) and extract the .img file from it. If you can read the contents of the .img file, I reckon you could get them...
THanks Tj,
no works...I found the big .esco, extracted the boot.img...and that file is "empty"...no Winzip no winrar no Dtools can how what's inside it...I wanna extract a carrier's wallpaper... :/

Whats up everyone. Finally got my hands on a pc to root my verizon s3. Downloaded all needed files and now im at the point of extracting the root66 to a tar file. Havnt been on windows for a while so off memory I d/led winzip. That didn't work because I guess incompatible with. Z7? Okay, so thats fine so I figure theres something else out there for this exact file type. Do a quick Google search and found 7 zip. But now every time I try to extract im getting "cannot open xxxx as archive".
Don't know if this helps but my file is still in my download folder and images trying to extract it to the same folder. I tried all the other options as well but to no avail. So any help would be greatly appreciated

Hi guys im a noob to the forums and to rom customization in general looking for some help
I have a generic MX dual core, and have been supplied a flash firmware and image from the supplier. This image is basic and has a lot of bloatware apps which i want to remove and put some of my own
The image supplied is a zipfile and contains:
factory_update_param.aml
hd18d_mx4.zip
recovery.img
I am able to successfully restore my box with this image (so I know that the image is working fine).
Within the hd18d_mx4.zip there is:
Directotories: data, META-INF, recovery, system
files: boot.img, bootloaded.img, logo.img
I can see the all the system APK files within the system/app folder. The problem is when i try to add another APK file into this directory within the archive (in this case videomix.apk), I am not able to restore the image to the MX device.
Can anyone help me with a noobies guide to do this. I have read that the apk file has to be signed, and the zip file has to be signed also?? But im not quite sure what this means, nor how I go about doing it.
Any help or tutorials will be much appreciate. I have downloaded the APK-multi-tool but dont have a clue what I need to do
Look forward to your replies.
P.S. Im using a windows 32 bit machine
anyone???
