They are in your mind.
They are real, but.... not real.
Who can know? Who can say? And what does it all mean? And how does one spell "their"?
Remember your first posts here, you really seemed to hate your phone. Good to see you've maintained the rage.
How's East Belfast these days?
Nope don't hate the phone, I got a new one and have had no issues with it at all really. And as for east Belfast I don't live there,

Good to know. Good phone. Crap city though, worked there for 2 years...
Back on topic, what's the rush for ICS? Wait for an official release, the devs will do good things with it.
Seeing as no-one's answered you yet, the leaked ROMS are over at SamMobile, google it.
If i helped you, hit the Thanks!
Has anyone know when will be the ICS be out? Officially

Sure, it's been out officially since 14 November 2011.
idk if this is a ? or a statement but is there anyway there will be a stock JB ROM soon? i would love to use stock without sense to check it out. not a developer by any means, but couldn't someone port it somehow or something?

Well, your question was very stupid and my answer was accurate.
Deck is still getting cm9 running so I'm sure when he desides he will switch to the jelly version when CM does.

The number 1 thing developers hate is when people ask questions like this. When something is ready, it will be released. I'm sure you're not the only person lurking around these forums that wants stock jelly bean on their device. Let them do their thing and be patient. Hell, they are still baking stock ICS roms, so JB will take a little while longer. Keep being pushy and I'm sure you will end up on someone's sh*t list. Just giving you a heads up.

and its people like you guys like get there a*s kicked cause they just like to run the trap. im not one to talk trash but when someones a smarta*s to me over a simple question then all bets are off. it was a simple question that anyone who had any info on if a build is coming could have answered. exactly the answers i got from you kids i could of gotten from a baby. aka your being a smarta*s so whatever...
You come in here asking a question that is religiously flamed for and hope to not get flamed? Wow. Everyone knows not to ask for ETAs, and if you wanna talk so much smack back how about you port it over yourself.
Posting in a soon-to-be-closed thread! :victory:
Also OP, sorry you got flamed! I would guess a ROM will be out at the latest by the end of 2012 or such. I'm no dev, though. Patience, padawan!
Expect a working SDK port by the end of the month or a little ways into August. For the real deal, I'd say a few weeks after a device with jelly bean is released

as the other guys say this type of question is the few of the ones you dont ask. when a dev puts it out, it will be announced. and im sure a few devs who love senseless roms are rushing their little fingers to put out the code for it, hell the HTC ONE X international got it last night, but i know that because i like to keep up to date on my phones.
but i dunno, i gave you 2 answers and you weren't happy, here is a 3rd.

I was just giving you a heads up about the way you were asking. I don't bash people here, but some others will without hesitation. You, like all the rest of us, have and are wondering when things will get ported over and become available, but we all must be patient. The devs hate when you ask questions like this because it makes them feel rushed, and when they feel rushed they either take longer on the development of whatever project or they completely abandon it all together. Again, wasn't trying to be a smart ass to you dude, just didn't want to see you get flamed here. Like the rest of us, just be patient.
There is nothing wrong with a question like this. What I understood from the question was the OP was asking if there are any plans on it which is a legitimate and friendly question. Most question that are "If" are okay but "when" is not so good. I am wondering IF we are going to have it one day versus I am wondering WHEN they will have one. No issues with this question at all.

finally someone who is not just out to say something mean or smart to someone. and exactly what he said...im not asking "when is 4.1 going to be on our device, i want it now and it better be flawless".......NO im just simply asking if anyone has heard or talked to anyone THAT'S IT!!! so many ppl on here just out to get ya and its kinda sad if ya ask me but whatever its all good. anyways to the few that gave a good response thank you. no thanks to the rest....

first off i didnt mean to hit the "thanks" button i hit it on accident going for the "quote" button. but idk who your talking about because if you could read you would of seen that i wasn't asking for an ETA. I was asking if there will be and if its even possible to port something from another phone like the "gnex" over to our phone. and last if you would read some more of this thread you would see that i wasn't the one running my mouth so dont come at me like that saying i was.
Doesn't matter if the op was right or wrong in asking his question. Let it be...
I will never understand why people have to flame someone/be a smart ass behind their computer on these forums. You can say whatever you want concerning the original post, but it doesn't change the fact that your response was unwelcome and completely worthless. If the op was wrong, let it be or let an admin reprimand him. I don't see any of you "flamers" with admin status. No matter what you say, your response was worse than the original post.
To the OP, jellybean will get here when it does. Will it get here soon? I hope so! Honestly, no one knows, there are too many factors that will effect the timing of a JB stock rom release. Rest certain that it will arrive eventually.

Just be the bigger person. No need to get all fired up. You will see rude people around here and in every forum. No matter the question rude and smartass comments are not called for.
This is a very new phone and it will likely get 4.1. So I am sure the one you want will end up here it will just take some time.
As for not being a dev thats fine. Look up the source for it and some threads on building AOSP roms and give making an AOSP a try. Who knows maybe you'll like it.
Good luck and dont mind the rude ones here.
Also porting from the Gnex would likely be not an easy task but I am sure he probably has a git for it.
yea actually i have been trying to learn code and script and all the aosp stuff. its crazy hard lol but i know man ur always gonna have haters on here that's for sure. but thanks for the comment.

Your welcome. Remember just and wave pisses off the haters more XD
Where in settings is option to set how long capacitive lights stay on?
you have to more specific..There is alot of jelly bean roms floating around..And some are different..Perhaps rephrasing your question, you'll get a quicker response?
Well I thought my question was pretty straight forward, I ask here so as to not cloud the rom thread (they ***** hard about that)
Just like in a normal stock gb/ics rom, in display you have an option to set how long to keep the capacitive buttons lit: 6 seconds, as long as screen on, never, etc
Question is simply where is this option in jelly bean?
How crazy is that people get upset when people post frivolous questions in the "DEVELOPMENT" section? Who would have known? What fascist Nazis!
OP, you still didn't answer the question wish777 asked you. Instead you choose to be arrogant. So in turn I will not answer your question even though I know the answer.
how do you know which jelly bean rom he has? or is that setting in generically the same place?
saywhat10 : please specify which from you have... and someone familiar with that particular rom will answer. thanks

If its a question that somebody doesnt know, and wants answered, how is that frivolous? The problem in the developer section is that they assume everybody is some techy and is supposed to know everything.

How was I arrogant, i simply rephrased it like he requested. A 2 year old could understand my question I asked. Plus he didnt actually ASK me a question or ASK which rom I was on if you can read. You simply implied he did, but he didnt directly. He simply asked me to rephrase which is incredibly VAGUE. So i chose what to rephrase, was totally in the scope of his request
But i can be arrogant: Only kids play games like responding saying you know the answer but wont give it. Can beleive you took a simply question i asked and just ran with it for no reason
But Jimbomb, i'm on slimbean, but was on the impression that its a stock option, generically in the same place, independant of which jelly bean version. All the ICS roms they used they were all in the same place

I'm currently using slim rom as well..I don't even see that option within this rom...?..thats strange...
No one is trying to play games bud....its just easier to know what jelly bean rom your on...There is no default jelly bean rom.....if you want to be specific your on jelly bean/cm10 to be honest...all the roms are using jelly bean as a base, with or without cm10...I'm not trying to be mean,Am only trying to help you?..if I knew more info, It would be allitle easier..but I can't or anybody else, because we don't know what rom you were on...

I didnt say you were playing game, i said the other guy was (simply replying to say he knows the answer but wont give it)
And again, the light settings is in the same place for all the GB and ICS roms,so going with that i assumed the actual rom name was irrelevant, since its a basic feature of all roms.
Now I'm definitely not giving you the answer.

thanks, but on this jelly bean, theres no "advanced" after going to settings
First, its pretty standard procedure when asking a question to provide as much detail as possible such as what ROM you're on and what mods you're using, not just JB. That you did not.
Second, the development section does not require you to be a techie, it simply requires you to be observant and able to learn by reading, experimenting, and drawing your own conclusions.
Third, you basically answered your own question, which goes back to drawing your own conclusions from reading and experimenting. You stated that its available on stock ROMs. The duration setting is available only on TW based ROMs AFAIK, which you seemed to have observed. Since CM9/10 aren't TW based, they don't have the duration settings. The option to turn on or off is available on CM9 ROMs and CM10 ROMs that include the advanced menu under settings. If your ROM doesn't have the advanced menu, then the developer hasn't included it.
Remember, developers build these ROMs for themselves first, then generously share them with us. The answer to every 'why isn't this included?' question is that the developer simply hasn't included it. Just keep in mind that the developer built it for themselves on their own free time, and that you aren't entitled to anything, and you can politely suggest to the developer that a feature be included. Expecting and demanding won't get you anywhere. You were expecting this feature. If you're not happy use something else.

Who the hell demanded anything? I simply asked a simple question in the correct Q & A forum
If you read I said I thought the answer was rom independent, do you know what that means? Then you are harping on me not saying which rom I was on but looks like it didn't even matter which one im on because the option doesn't exist on any dag on note jelly bean rom!
And if I knew the answer why the hell would I even ask the question in the first place? Use common sense please
And then you say we don't have to be a techie, but make a techie answer! Very funny math my man!
Only a techie knows how each stock cm9 cm10 aosp aokp works, I don't! So i asked a freakin question here!
Stop being so pressed to come on to flame people just because they are not a know it all like you!Either you wanted to give me an answer to my question or not, all that other stuff is totally unnecessary!!! This is what blows this whole community
I was trying to help you out man. This whole blowing up at people doesn't help anything, which I've consistently seen you do in the past. I was trying to tell you not that you knew the answer, but that you had already observed everything you needed to draw a reasonable conclusion that CM9/10 ROMs don't have the ability to set duration. My answer wasn't very techie, and I don't consider myself very techie, I just was trying to give you advice on how to better solve your own problems. You don't need to be a techie to try out the ROMs available and see what each one does/doesn't include.
Sorry about the last couple sentences, I realize they were harsher than they needed to be. But the rest really wasn't aimed at you, it was general advice about drawing your own conclusions and whatnot, which everybody can use.

I'm inclined to side with the OP on this one. I've noticed that a lot of active members here can be dickish towards new members with valid, albeit naive questions.
The whole community reeks of elitism, but I can look past that myself cause it's such a useful site. I'm not trying to fuel the flames, just pointing out what I have observed. None of the antagonism has been aimed at me, as I like to do a good job of supplying as much detail as possible when I post.... but still.
Ok guys. wuuussssaaaa. I can see both sides of the argument. Some older users can be a bit touch (which welch was not.) He gave you the answer to your question and explained why you did not find it.
As for being a techy know it all. There is no such thing. With the way the mobile OS is evolving, you are always learning something new. Now for your question, A search would have given you the answers you were looking for. As per the rules you agreed to when you joined. You did read them right jk lol.
You have to remember this is not just a Development forum but one of the biggest in the world. You will find techies, techie jargoon, and other things you dont understand. Take the time to learn, it will save you tons of frustration.

Ok so the answer is to use the search button to find my answers? Really? So why the hell does this forum exist? Technically all answers can be found by searching right? So Answer me that
BUT I did search whether you believe me or not, if I had found my answer common sense should tell you I wouldn't have made this post!
So again, if we can find answers by searching, why should anyone post a question in this forum?

Well considering that there are over 4 million members, then yes. The question. Has a good chance of already being asked at some point or another. Do you really think your the first to notice the missing option?
So you search first. And then on the off chance you can't find anything even remotely related to your question, then you open a new thread

Hi all,
I've been looking around here and there for something like this for the past few months and still haven't found anything relevant about it.
The idea would be to use the power button as the camera button while the native camera app is launched to take snapshots on Jelly Bean official but rooted stock firmware.
Found a thread but sadly has been discontinued for some reason, here's the link :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1787709&nocache=1
So Anyways, was just wondering if a kind soul would either know how to code this or figure out if there's anything out there remotely close to what I'm asking for. Also, note that the "button switcher" app doesn't seem to work for that purpose, already gave it a go...
Thanks for your time and hope u guys had a good Xmas and will have an even better NYE.

anybody ? Am actually quite surprised that no one is currently looking into this.
I know the feature is available on different Roms but would be ace if one could have it on sammy's stock Rom.
Oh well, I suppose I'll just have to wait & see.

Hello,
My girl has a Desire X which she loves and won't quite let me touch and root (boo!).
However, I just noticed that there seems to be an update available for it. The problem is, hers seems to be stuck with 4.0.4, and the update checker doesn't provide anything fresher...
Am I missing something? Are these country-specific? Is there something I can do?
Thanks!

I hate to be like this again, but you acctualy can use search button, or just look at other parts of this section of forum, there is your question answered at least tousand times...
JB update is out just in eastern europe, should be out worldwide soon (or soon™, nobody knows these days with htc)
Oh, but I did. Saw a bunch of posts, but maybe I missed the specific information. I'm old enough a user to think before acting
Apologies, nonetheless.
I think some posters are unaware how the forum works.
We have had many posts on this subject before.
Eastern Europe seems to be the only ones to have got the latest 4.1.5 updates at the moment.
No one really knows when the rest will follow, i am sure HTC are working on a few things.
Its in HTC's interest to release the updates ASAP.
So lets just be patient here.
