I this is an old thread but I just found it trying to do the same thing.
I followed the guide here:

It worked fine for me.
I have a 7inch eviant android tablet that has JB 4.1.1 on it and I cannot find I root for it I would really appreciate if someone could please help me out. Thanks!!

Couple of weeks before my tablet producer relase Android Kitkat Rom
Old method for rooting Android 4.2.2, dosen't work on Kitkat.
Is there anyone to say how can I root my Alwinner A31s based tablet on Android Kitkat?

so you need to install it hook up usb and then run, when done factory reset to wipe the ware the root installed
use vroot just google it
