Why is this game saying it is incompatible with my Galaxy 10.1 and Acer A500 when I can blatantly see reviews for both devices under the marketplace listing!!!
Other people have the game installed, what is going on here?
Hey, when did this happen?? I was just about to buy it when I saw your post! I swear it it was compatible too earlier this today!!! Thanks for the heads up though too!!

This is weird, glad I bought it and downloaded it before this happened works great on tab
works on my tab too..
it works just fine here man.... i'd even go as far as saying that this game runs just as smooth, if not smoother then it did on my ps2!!!!! for real, this is one of the best games i have ever played on my tablet , in the sense of how fluid it plays with absolutly no lag what so ever..... also plays great on my google nexus and htc amaze
Maybe they changed it for some reason. If you still want to install it, you can clear your markets applicationdata, edit your /System/buid.prop and change your device to something like
ro.product.model = Nexus S
ro.product.manufacturer = samsung
or whatever phone is still compatible to download it

that's the weird thing, I did a little investigating and there haven't been any updates according to the Market website, it's still version 1.0
I dont have test this! There is a version for galaxy tab?
So whats going on? How do i download he game?
Found out
Go to the Rockstar website and find the game. Apparently the company didn't test the game for rooted and jailbroken devices. It won't work properly if your device is rooted, which sucks because they waited to add that little bit until myself and a lot of others bought it already and found out the next day that it now comes up as incompatible. They are willing to refund the money. Just follow the instructions they have.

Ha! There's nothing about rooted devices that stops it from running except the fear that it will get pirated...

My Tab's rooted too... the key to getting it to work if you have issues (won't start, no sound, etc) seems be to delete the resource files (Android/data/com.rockstar.gta3) and restart the app, forcing it to download it again. Works perfectly after that.
It's working on mine also, stock 3.2 HC rooted. Just installed & downloaded game data
It's back! It's returned to the My Apps list on my Tab and market.android.com also reports it's compatible again!

Hi guys. I bought a HTC T328W Dual SIM Android phone which is running ICS 4.0.3 but no Google apps and services. It's rooted and unlocked. How can I add them on my T328W?
I tried to download the gapps and put the APK files to /system/app, modified the permission and they worked fine. But I still can't add the Google account in Account and Sync setting. Please advise.
Now my Gmail is running in IMAP mode. I want a native Gmail app.

I want to buy this phone, How do you rate compared to other phones you tried?
And How did you root it, as far as I know there is no available root yet.
As for adding Google Apps, follow this guide:

Make sure you Adjusted permissions, and that Google Framework service is there.

I can say T328W just enough for daily use. It slower than Lenovo A750 (MTK6575) absolutely. If you don't play game/ movie then it's good for you. Very good body build and quality. Also 9.3mm is very slim. Even my Galaxy note is little bit thicker than T328W. It's selling RMB1999 in China.
For root. You can use HTC One V root method. Make sure you unlock the bootloader first.

Thank you for the response.
What a coincidence, I also own a Galaxy Note,I also got the Motorola XT532 dual sim phone, but I'm thinking of upgrading it to the T328W.
Is the Sense 4.0 sluggish on the T328W?, and Can you tell me about the Screen protection, Is the screen anti-smudge/anti-scratch or just a piece of Glass, does it get finger prints easy?
Did you solve the Google Account not there?
If not, try the Cyanogen Google Apps Pack found here:

Make sure you get Version 9.

Vending.apk is still the same according to the gapps file from cyanogen.
I think there is no Custom Recovery yet for the phone, so you'll have to copy the files manually and change the permissions.

I downloaded the GAPPS package here. http://goo.im/gapps/gapps-ics-20120422-signed.zip
No vending.apk but phonesky.apk.
I also have a XT532 and...many other phones. LOL.
I don't like Sense 4 so I'm using Nova Launcher. It quite smooth on T328W. At RMB1999 cost level. I'm pretty sure it just common glass without any anti-scratch protection. Anyway I don't use any screen protector. Let's check the screen a week later.
gapps-ics-20120317-signed.zip got the same old Vending.apk.
Since you have the XT532, Do you advice an upgrade to the T328W?

If you want a bigger screen and better display then T328W is your choice.
If you don't mind to wait a while then a JiaYu G2 is coming in May.
Did you know about JiaYu G2? It's a China local brand but very attractive price.
RMB799 only.
http://www.etotalk.com/jiayu-g2-3g-wcdma-android-40-cpu-1ghz-dual-sim-40wvga_p2951.html
The main reason I'm even considering an upgrade is the Non-existent community support for the XT532 compared to the other Samsung and HTC phones.
The JaiYu indeed has an attractive feature list, but hen you buy a brand name like HTC or Samsung you expect a minimum level of community and manufacturer support.
HTC compared to the XT532 will give me better screen, better ppi, a slightly better processor and storage, ICS and attractive looks . And anyway, if I need a real phone I always got my trusty Note.

Have you tried extracting the gapps from a One V RUU and adding it to the T328W?
Where can get? Thanks.
Check the One V section here on XDA, as to how to extract the RUU, I have no idea.

Is there any problems with connectivity with the Phone, I mean if you're connected to 3G through sim 1, Can you receive calls on sim 2?
And when you are on a Call on any SIM and you hang up, how long does it take for the other SIM to be connected to the network again?
Thanks

If you're connected to 3G through SIM1, then the SIM1 data connection will be suspended if someone call you through SIM2.
The other SIM recovered immediately after hang up. I tried.
Samsung Duos dual SIM are 3G.
HTC T328W only SIM 1 is 3G, Sim 2 is GSM, 2G will be faded very soon in some city or country.
The hardware of HTC T328W is
Not any single GOOGLE application appear in T328W.
Many application that cannot be installed from GOOGLE MARKET or Manual install such as LINE, Viber and HKC [Hong Kong Jockey Club] application.

Negative. Just tried to scan my edy but no joy. My nexus S grabs it fine however. Cannot wait to dump this stupid docomo rom and get a vanilla one on. That or just go back to my Nexus S.
またSC-06DはNFCを搭載していないので、「Android Beam」を拡張したデータ転送機能「S Beam」も利用できない. Yep, no NFC.
SamMobile has a rom out for SC-06D. As soon as the DL finishes gonna give it a go since I tried the I9300 and it just black screens.
i seen that but i was pretty sure that was just the stock rom...which is really helpful if a bad rom is loaded and need to go back to stock...ive downloaded it too and keeping it to the side for emergencies....
The ability to root and throw CyanogenMod 9 on docomo's Galaxy S3 are the two most important factors in whether or not I will buy it in the next couple of months. Can you please keep us updated on your progress, wtfusernameistaken?

My honest opinion is that the phone sucks. No NFC, annoying uninstallable apps, battery gets quite warm, camera is meh, Kies is basically iTunes with a different layout. I went back to my nexus S and passed the S3 off to the wife. Tried to get a galaxy nexus but it would seem that it did so bad in Japan that they liquidated their entire stock 3 months ago. Guess I'll just have to wait for the next dev phone.
The rom on sammobile is in fact the stock rom, but good to have in case.
Your first sentence had me dying. Lol I guess that sums it up, though. I guess I'll start preparing to buy a One X, though I think I'm going to attempt to get the AT&T version and have it unlocked, as it seems that model is more liked than the international version. I don't even play Words with Friends, so Tegra 3, Schmegra 3 for all I care.
In my opinion this is a beast of a phone...nfc not there..it maybe just no unlocked..the screen is great..the 2gb is a major factor...the fact it'll be one if few phones to receive the jelly bean update..even the little tv tuner which I'm sure the statewide doesn't have..the massive support for it...the camera is great, even though some might choose a third party app...people are judging the phone after a few days of use...the real beauty and love affair comes after extended use...having all this potential and being a root and or custom Rom away from unleashing it is mouth watering...already my s3 out performs my s2 in every way...and it can only get better...every day I find or notice something about this phone that makes it more and more awesome...give it a chance and don't be so basis guys...

If you lack Japanese skills I would be hesitant to root. Some of the warnings that come up will not be in english. Not to mention that all the development on the root was done by Japanese and the "documentation" will be as well.
This is my first Android device (and my first post )
I found the amount of Samsung and Docomo apps really ridiculous.
I want to get CM9 onto the device, so I can have a completely clean slate with no remnants of all the shovelware. As I'm new, I don't know how yet, but I've found several guides and videos and such for doing it for other devices, even the other versions of the Galaxy S3. Unfortunately I haven't found too much specifically for the Docomo Japan version, so I'm a little hesitant to try anything just yet. Is there anything that makes the Docomo device different from other Galaxy S3's, anything I should look out for?
One thing to note for anyone else who bought it here in Japan at Docomo, by default they automatically sign you up for a ton of their crap, iChannel, BodyMo, etc., and each one costs monthly. They're very easy to forget about. If you go digging through the "my docomo" site, through the customer support stuff, eventually you'll find the options to cancel each of the stuff they signed you up for. They really do make it hard to get to.

Not yet. If they do get it working, it'll be through an international ROM. AT&T has refused to support it so far.
Yeah, I've tried the modaco toolkit version(from the youtube vid I found) and that person got it working, but it is on an Sprint HTC One.
Guess I'll wait and see what happens.
I found a verion that works on sprint, but on my phone (running cognition 0.6 - based upon dev rom) it still says "Device/carrier not supported"
I'm sure its based upon some carrier flag perhaps... not sure why/how at&t can actually keep google from releasing it... especially on a "deveoper" version of the phone...

Sprint is the only us carrier that can use wallet. Speaking from previous phones on their network. If I'm not mistaken the s3 on sprint and nexus all use wallet straight from the market.

Yeah but they(devs here) found a way to use the Sprint version of the phones to bypass the carrier locks. I had GW on my AT&T S3 via wallet installer. Requires root, but it was a simple build.prop edit to get it working.

I remember that I could get Google Wallet to work on my Galaxy SIII by changing the phone name in the build.prop to HTC RAIDER and it would work.
I can't seem to find the thread that detailed how to do it, but I bet with a rooted ROM you could use the same hack and install via the APK

I got in touch with the dev who got wallet working on the s3, he is working on it for the s4 and the One as well.
I've tried all the build prop edits, along with Modaco toolkit using Xposed framework and removing carrier/root checks. Still nothing. Leads me to believe we need some files from the Sprint HTC One like the S3 needed to get this working.

I've pulled all the nfc libs/files from the sprint ROM as per the other workarounds that have gotten google wallet working and flashed them, changed build.prop, installed all the modded wallet apks i could find as well as the play store version, but it never gets past the first screen (logcat showed a No Secure Element Error). I've recently, however, been told that the Secure Element is located in the micro sim, which currently i don't have (i'm using a cut mini sim, so ISIS doesn't even work. Can anyone check to see if ISIS will install for them?). Here is the flashable package iwth the nfc libs/files from the Sprint ROM, if anyone would like to try to see if it will utilize the secure element in the sim (it will still require the other workarounds, I'm guessing).
Keep in mind this is from the original ROM, before their update yesterday (or two days ago) that enabled wallet. Once i find a dump from the update, i'll redo the flashable with the most current files.. ah i see there's one posted, downloading now... will have a new flashable shortly.. i'm also gonna check out the new build.prop to see what, if any, changes happened there that might be necessary.
Edit: removed this one. New one will be up in about 15 minutes

I can install Isis from the Play store, but it won't let me initialize cause I'm rooted. Also not sure if my micro sim has a secure element or not(since I am not located in one of the test markets).

I can't even install ISIS..tells me my device is unsupported. So since you can, my guess is you do have a secure element. I was told by a chat representative yesterday (I know, taken with a grain of salt), that all of ATT's micro SD's have a secure element.
10 minutes left on the download, then some comparison, then I'll have a flashable

I can't even install ISIS..tells me my device is unsupported. So since you can, my guess is you do have a secure element. I was told by a chat representative yesterday (I know, taken with a grain of salt), that all of ATT's micro SD's have a secure element.

Ok, I'm making a Nandroid right now, I'm going to try the flashable zip you already included to see if that works.
I'm going to update my build prop to one of the following and see if that bypasses it
ro.product.model=Galaxy Nexus
ro.product.name=yakju
ro.product.device=maguro
ro.product.model=htc_jewel
ro.product.name=htc_jewel
ro.product.device=htc_jewel
Both of those worked for the S3

yea i tried both of those, as well as M7WLS, m7wls, m7wls (as in Sprint's build.prop), and none worked - but again, I think it's a different issue for me
ok. i forgot that flashable had an issue. after you flash, nfc probably will be greyed out and won't turn on - go to /system/lib/hw/ and change nfc.m7wls.so to nfc.m7.so and reboot
or just wait for the new one and I'll have that issue fixed...

Already flashed it, I'll update the settings. Going through Android is upgrading right now
Wallet installed, and it is sitting at the setting up wallet screen(where it always does)
So looks like those lib files are a no go.

here's a flashable package with the libs/app/files from yesterday's Sprint update. build.prop changes in the update appeared to be negligible (just changes in version numbers, etc).
Hi everyone! Today I finally decided to register in this great community, mainly because I'm looking for help and you are the ones that can help me.
I'm Henry and as the title says, I've hold and played with a Samsung Galaxy S3 running nothing more than Gingerbread. Why and how were my first questions when I first saw it, but I haven't been able to answer that.
This is the story: a friend of mine was given that GS3 hoping that he could solve the stuttering and lagging that it had (has) after a professor of him took it to a "technician". He, being the Android lover he is became surprised, so he came to me yesterday hoping that we could bring things back to normal (install stock jelly bean), but with no avail. That "thing" has the stock recovery and is not rooted, things we found EXTREMELY weird. We spent three hours trying to root it and then install a new recovery using different tools (gingerbreak, odin, odin mobile [we realized odin mobile needs root permissions to work, but still], samsung kies, universal_gb_root, framaroot) but you guessed: nothing worked. The only thing we didn't use was SuperOneClick. We couldn't put it into download mode and when we connected it to the pc, it didn't appeared as "adb interface" or "android composite device" but appeared with another strange name that had nothing to do with samsung or android, I can't recall the name of it right now. The other things we found was that the GS3 was showing that the internal storage was just 200mb, when it's a phone with "16"gb of storage, and that the battery says SAMSONG instead of SAMSUNG.
Long story short: it was an international, unlocked Samsung Galaxy GS3 i9300 running Gingerbread. My friend got it because a professor of him wanted he to fix it because after she took it to a "technician" it was very laggy. It was not rooted, it has stock android recovery (useless) and odin won't recognize it.
Do you guys have any effing idea of what is going on and how can we fix it?
We have three hypothesis: 1) they swapped her phone with a chinese knockoff (an extremely identical and functional knockoff); 2) they swapped the GS3's hard drive; 3) they didn't know what they were doing and installed Gingerbread instead of Jelly Bean (yup, sounds unlikely).
Thank you very much for yor help and attention!
Before getting halfway through your post, I decided you were talking about a clone/ knock-off

Then it's an extremely accurate clone. It has the samsung's boot animation, sounds, everything!

They all do. These things you listed are the easiest things to "clone". In fact, since they live in software, they could easily have been ripped out of the official firmware. A friend of mine (willingly) bought a Note 2 clone. It even has the annoying whistle notification.
It's not that accurate a clone though, if it comes with gingerbread, which the S3 never came with.

Well, you do have great points. Even so, is there something we can do about it? Besides give the police a heads up?

You need to prove 2 things.
1) It is a fake
2) It was not a fake before
2 is quite easy if it was supplied form an official network / carrier / provider store. 1 will involve screenshots of the about phone area and some physical shots as well as some info gained from this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cpuid.cpu_z&hl=en

You're welcome. Please let me know how you get on,
Easiest way to tell a clone is to take the back off and compare side by side with a genuine s3, the shape of the inner mouldings, position of sim and sd readers is very hard to exactly match during the reverse engineering process.
But the gingerbread and lack of download mode is conclusive in itself.
Check the imei and serial numbers on the original phone packaging against the imei of the handset you hold, if they are the same then your friend bought a clone.
