Bumping is against the rules .
Not searching is also against the rules.
There are enough posts on the subject .

I couldn't find. What about share them ?

Maybe a sticky with the latest stock ROM
I am searching 20 minutes now and I can't find the latest stock ROM.
I suspect if you have root there is no way of getting it.
Someone more knowledgeable should help here.
This is not a bump
I have flashed the XXELLA but every morning my phone says there is an update, but I can't get it because the device has been modified (Root)
Help please?

It's not. You can bump your thread but not more than once every 24 hours.

U cant update using kies or phone since rooted kernel modified the system dafaults..the official update will detect it and prevent from updating...the only way is to download the ota file from sammobile.com and flash using odin

[Q] Some questions about rooting

Hi everyone
I am gonna buy a galaxy s3 this week and i want to know some things about rooting the device
I have worked with odin and i know how it works
And i used odin once to root my friends galaxy s.(using chainfire)
But for galaxy s,chaonfire created different pda files based on the region
But for this phone i saw that there is only one pda file (for all regions)
So here is my question:
Is this version of cf-root (the one for galaxys 3 i men)
Region independent? I mean won't i loose any languages?
And by the way, after rooting,is it possible to update the phone using kies or using ota updates?
Thanks in advance
Best regards
Ota no updates. Kies possible updates.Root information all in Development section.

Actually, Chainfire says in the first few posts of his CF root thread that it does support OTA (but will need to re flash CF root afterwards)

Thanks for your answer
But you didnt answer my first question
Is this version of cf root region free?
The S3 CF-root is for any firmware provided your phone is either GT-I9300 or GT-I9300T
All the info in the first two posts anyway http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1695238

[Q] Flash counter and replacing the phone

I think my phone has a problem so I'm planning to take it back to the place where i bought and get it replaced (as it's only been like a week)
However i rooted my phone, so i was planning to use triangle away to remove this, but it says i need to reflash with the stock firmware to be perfect, but the stock firmware for my region did not come out yet.
What should i do?
Please give me some help

Hey I'm Australian and own an S3.. I'm sick of Vodafone update strategy.. I want to root, what do you think?
Sent from my GT-I9300T using Tapatalk 2
Ye root it, i rooted it too, except i think i need a replacement cause my phone has a problem.
Rooting could do lots of stuff.
If you ain't that good with computers and you don't want to stress yourself finding stuffs and working on it, don't do it cause it can risk your phone and might not brick.
Otherwise it's great to root
I've had the GNex.. I just hope it's as easy. Vodafone seriously piss me off..
I think Im Gonna root it.. just regret I didn't do that the moment I got it.. cause I seriously can't be stuffed going through the whole set up process again..

Why root it has nothing to do with updates or stock roms .

Would I be able to flash the latest original firmware without root?
Sent from my GT-I9300T using Tapatalk 2
lol
well actually looking at your statistics i think you know well
hahaha
SGS3 doesn't really need root, as it is already good enough
but can make it better with root i think
yes

flashing is just to do with odin...so
if you get the firmware file and use odin
no need of rooting
Ohhh okay cool.. do you know any links that can help me flash the unbranded ROM for the S3 and if I flash that Rom.. would I still be able to receive OTA updates?
Sent from my GT-I9300T using Tapatalk 2

you can download this and flash it with odin
I'm not sure about the OTA update, as it's generally released by Samsung or the carrier...so

You can also download latest Official Firmwares from http://samfirmware.com
Sent from my MB525 using Tapatalk 2
Yes. But you'll be able to do so with root too...
Many people confuse the two, so just to clarify:
Rooting means having a tiny modification in the phone's operating system so it doesn't restrict you from superuser commands. This will not affect your installed data or ability to upgrade.
Custom Roms is replacing the stock rom with a new operating system package someone else built which may or may not largely differ from Samsung's own version.

I just want an official non branded ROM .so I can get the latest updates without carrier delays .
Sent from my GT-I9300T using Tapatalk 2
There are always delays, whether carrier-, region-, or whatever-related.
You can flash the newer Rom's through Odin tough (again: the flashcounter does not increase with original ROM's) to get it as soon as the file is released.
Unbranded S1's had to wait several months for Froyo update over here...
Where can I find the latest official firmware?
Also since I'm in Australia.. does it matter what region firmware I update to? Say.. can I update to an European based firmware?

Looks as if you need to RTFM .
That's read the manual.
Update is via Kies or FOTA only if your supplier has updatedOtherwise stock rom thread. Read first and understand.

Firmware upgrade after rooting?

Hey all,
So I have rooted my SGS3 and installed Note II camera mod. Now I connected my phone to KIES, and a firmware upgrade popped up, but I wasn't sure if i should do it. What exactly does it change?
Depends on what firmware it is.
See details in stock rom threads.
As per basics update via kies breaks root

As jje hinted, please read the "basics" thread. Its the first link in general > sticky roll-up thread

Why you don't update to 4.3? I has been reading the forum and i think that it's better to the phone be updated.

Go read the sticky thread in general forum, you are missing most basic knowledge.
As above, updating to latest stock rom is recommended. 4.0 will kill the phone memory.
Don't ask for rom recommendation.

so u mean i have to update my phone to 4.3 right ?
Yes, 4.3 is the latest stock rom.
