Hi there. I'm from Portugal and I bought a used Samsung Galaxy S3 factory unlocked from UK. However my SIM card doens't work... It says NO SIM (INSERT SIM CARD). It has the latest stock 4.1.2. The IMEI in the phone and in the Rom are a match.
My CSC is I9300OXAELLA and my stock is I9300XXELLA.

Just tried 3 different Micro SIM cards and the result is the same.

try a differant sim card in your phone (for a differant network/operator)
1) if the device works with a differant sim/network then the device is unbranded
2) if the sim does not work then the device is branded.
*it basicly stops you from changing your sim/network - tools are avaliable on xda to do this but i think they are device specific.

yeah it is good to have an unbranded device, simply for the fact that you can put any sim card on any network into your device and it will work.
apart from that, that is all it meens/does dude

Hello, I just got the Only Emergency Calls nightmare .
I live in Mexico and I'm a Movistar user, but today I burrowed a friend's SIM from another company (Telcel), I switched and my GS2 magically got service!
Buuuuutttt!!!! I switched back to Movistar and again no service
I Checked my IMEI and the one printed on my phone is the same on de about section.
I haven't touch the EFs folders.
I tried with different ROMs, Modems and Kernels.
I've used CWM and Odin.
Does anyone can help me to solve this situation, please??

hy my friends my galaxy s3 rooted i tried root box and aokp rom so my network gone forever only mine sim cared and all other sim working properly fine i have same imei imei number and serial number and on stock rom rom s3 i tried to buy 2 new sim card the same number still the same problem please help my friends

thanks for reply dear friend let me explain i have s3 i live in ksa my mobile fine but all sim cards working fine in my s3 but only my sim card not working in my s3 my sim card working fine in another mobile i thougt maybe my sim damaged so i changed my sim but still same problem

my mate has got a korea verson s3 lte unfortunately. and now it stopped from reading sim card. sim card is fine, we tried in other phone.
I try to use odin to root it, but stuck at first step which kernal verson should I choose? and what sort of rom does it fit in ?
is it a I9005? odin seem not contain a korea verson option for it?

I would try all day unlock my S3 sim lock, but its failed every times. I am new in android customization so I read all things what I found, mostly the best hopes in here. So, it was an sim unlocked Galaxy S3 when I bought it, with android 4.0.4, I would like to upgrade it to 4.1.2 stock rom but it was some custom rom so its wont went automatically, I used Odin to Flash it with the stock 4.1.2 what I found here but it has the sim lock, I was tried more 4 unlocked roms but its stayed sim locked, I try all methods what I found but nothing worked, now the default IMEI changed.
Is it possible to homemade sim unlock it for free ?

what you mean by homemade sim? by right you should get sim from telco.

I am sorry for my bad english again, I mean unlocking the sim network at home, not in the service shop.
