Did anyone else hear about the upcoming Android software named Lime Pie that will be released by Google? Apparantly LG will be the first to release a device that comea with Lemon Pie. Anyways what are your thoughts?
Lime Pie
I think you refer to "Lime" Pie 5.0
I just think it will have some great new things, maybe the most interesting for me is the profile performace settings, i think it´s a great new idea for our andriods
You can find more info in Techradar for example.
Anyway waiting for realese
I think it's Key Lime Pie, After J (Jelly Bean) is K after all

He he.... No.... It would be official Google android devs not Sony's behind it..... So everything should go fine....

(P.s. as per Google's indications, 4.2 would indicate the iterative release of Key Lime Pie, and I did not see a KLP thread.)
Yes, 4.2!
The Arc S particularly keeps appearing on 4.2. This makes me wonder how many devices are going to be updated next? Perhaps some 2011 devices will be updated along with 2012 ones.
Next is the matter of 4.2. In the article here:
http://www.xperiablog.net/2012/10/11/android-4-2-being-tested-on-the-xperia-arc-s/
they discuss why that could be. Perhaps it's some 'beta build of Jelly'. I really doubt that. Whether Jelly or Lime, something's definitely being tested.
More clues here: http://www.androidpolice.com/2012/1...w-phone-and-a-new-nexus-tablet-both-motorola/
My next few questions are:
1. What are the specs (again) of the Arc S which will tell more about specs needed for future Sony updates. (GSM Arena) http://www.gsmarena.com/sony_ericsson_xperia_arc_s-4134.php
2. What new features in Jelly/Lime would I especially look forward to (Android version history, Wiki) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Android_version_history#Android_4.0.x_Ice_Cream_Sandwich
3. WHEN might this happen? I think maybe a bit like last year, announce towards the end of the year for a rollout in Q1/Q2.
arc s neo v and ray prolly gets it because they all use the same build number , can maybe port to neo and arc
the mini's? well i hope they release for them too!
I just checked again and the Arc S is running on 512MB of RAM. This is good news for our phones...many phones *could* be updated potentially.
I'm scanning the Android version history to try and find some audio/visual improvements that I may like!! :victory:
"gapless playback", "multichannel audio"

...with a wealth of under-the-hood improvements, KitKat is actually reducing the toll the OS takes on a phone's guts. Thanks to a reduction in KitKat's footprint it can run "comfortably" on devices with as low as 512MB of RAM, so KitKat won't just be for the high-grade device elite once it starts trickling down through carriers.

Seems that we wouldn't get android 4.4 update because of our omap4430 cpu. As TI quitted mobile bussiness, it is possible don't update the kernel drive. But if google glass get the update, it is possible for our L9 to have it.

Well,

Hopefully this will answer all the questions before they get asked 90x
Q: Will the X+ get Lollipop?
A: quite likely
Q: When will it get it?
A: When one of the AOSP devs decide to do it when it's released (No ETA)
Q: Will we get a HTC update?
A: HAH...no
There now you can reference this and find a quick and easy answer.
Can we please make this a sticky with the second Q&A in bold?

HTC is just lazy. The N7 (2012) is pretty much the same as our device yet it gets loads of updates. Plus lack of devs (no offence Lloir, you're great, AOSP/CM development would've been stopped if you quitted.)
