Been using CM9 from the i9100 section all day today without any issues.
On-Screen Button Modification:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1364757
VOIP Calling:
Finally, the last bit is to use your Google Voice account combined with SipDroid for SIP calling which works well over 3G/4G/Wifi.
For incoming, I stress everyone to try this:
"Also, with this configuration, incoming calls to google voice may reach your phone via cellular, and not data. If you want to remove the possibility of incoming calls going over cellular, sign into google voice, and under settings, uncheck mobile. Just leave google chat checked. Now incoming calls can only forward using VOIP."
This works with ANY ICS Android 4.0.* rom.
There is no need to replace the modem, the i9100 modem should work fine.
I would like to stress to anyone who modifies their framework-res.apk to please post it for others and state which ROM it works with.
Give it a go if you want a pretty usable ICS rom for the i777 - I however understand not everyone cares to go this far to get the ROM on their device but I don't mind sharing my adventure for others.
But calling and texting don't work outside of google voice?
Nice for trying but not suitable for everyday use until kernel sources come out.
But thanks for the heads up.

It does work with my setup. All data works great. Sipdroid is just a cheap work-around for no in-call audio over the voice radio. In-call audio works fine over a data network.
If I don't go out tonight, ill give your work around a shot op.

Nothing has changed; call audio still doesn't work. The OP presents a workaround by using data for voice calls. I suppose this will suffice for those that can't restrain themselves. It's tempting, but I'll wait until the proper fixes arise.

Can we mod any 9100 rom to use flash on the i777 or am i missing something? I would love to test drive this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1460702.
We can mod most gingerbread roms to work well on i777s using Entropy's hellraiser program, but it doesn't work for ICS yet. Once we have kernel sources you will quickly see some good custom ICS roms for our phone.

You can't use the Andyx ICS version but you can use his 2.3.6 based version and I would recommend it. I had it on my phone and it ran perfectly, nice looking rom too!
If it weren't for hellraising I'd be quite bored! LOL I'm currently running the Omega rom. I've been running that one for about a week its also a really good choice! Just make sure you grab either the black and blue version of Omega or stock as ICS version will not work on our phones yet of course.
This whole ideal seems really cool. I may give a try myself. One question though. Is it difficult to answer and receive calls?

Well once we get kernel sources, we'll have some ROMs - not sure if they'll be good.
Call audio is going to be a *****.
This work around was posted a while back. Not a true fix but it works. Unfortunately, I think most will wait for ics to drop so making calls can be done via voice network, not wifi/data.

Ahh ok. Well its also nice to have proper ui control with the on screen buttons as well.
And for those wondering about the calling: it works very well as it integrates with the stock phone.apk. I do not however know how to get incoming calling forwarded through the pbxes account.

For some this is completely useable because not everyone uses calling much. I text way more than I call. And if I'm talking iits because I made the call - people don't call me often. Take it for what its worth I suppose.

I answered this question like a few days ago... please use the search button.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=878970
Maybe you could tell him that the software.zip was about halfway down the page on the thread you linked, instead of posting the canned response "Use the search" which yourself have failed to do as well.
Also, I've checked your profile and proper net-iquette is when someone helps you, that you thank them. There are many people (Samsgun357, Xeniosm, N00B_in_N33D,..) that have been trying to help you over the past few weeks and yet you haven't "thanked" any of them. It's free and doesn't really mean anthing, but it is the thought that counts, know what I mean. Makes them want to help you further. You are limited to 8 on a PC and unlimited on Tapatalk/XDA app. According to your young, so we'll just chalk it up to that.
****************************
OP, here is what Lustergfx was trying to tell you (but there is far more to it than that). See the link I posted just above this. Look at item #6. Some of those links should help you out.
<SNIP>
ADDITIONAL TWEAK
Check out this thread here and read through the OP carefully. A few days ago I flashed "S.gps.zip" and I've had great results with it on Bionix 1.3.1 with the KA7 modem. I didn't see an increase in accuracy, but I did see a HUGE improvement on the speed my GPS locked and the number of birds locked too. I played around with all of the 2.2 modems last night and they all saw improved results.
If you decide to flash one of those zips, I recommend making a Nandroid backup first. In reading through the thread it appears that there are a few people that had their flashes result in broken GPS's. I have no idea why, I'd imagine it's because they didn't clear GPS data and they just think it's broken. I recommend making a backup, shutting off your GPS, booting into CWM, flashing the zip, rebooting, clearing GPS data, turning your GPS on and enjoying locks. And, as always, I recommend using GPS Test by Mike Lockwood to test your GPS every time you make a change.
The Super GPS should work on any ROM on an Vibrant, but it looks like a lot of people have tried it on 2.2 ROMS so be aware that, as always, there's the chance you may brick your device. If it works for you, be sure to thank jellette for his work. As always, I take no responsibility if this messes up your phone. I'm just relaying what worked for me.

Well, I have successfully booted up 4.2 on my Droid X2. I have been running it since Monday, and it's pretty stable. the only things that aren't working are:
Video Camera
Bluetooth
A few bugs from CM10.
I want to know if you guys want me to finish it up, and try to ready it up for a release this weekend, or if you want me to try to fix bluetooth, and the video camera.
EDIT: I'm going to attempt to fix bluetooth. If it causes too many problems, i'll release it without bluetooth and work on it in my free time. There is a couple stability issues I have patched up, and it seems to be working just fine so far.
EDIT2: I'm taking finals tomorrow then i'll have a good month of tinkering with this ROM. My goal is to get it pretty stable by then end of August (like 8/10 stable).

Nice to hear someone is still working on this thing. If you have a decent build of 4.2.2, I dont see a reason to not release it. Just put all the usual warnings in the post and make it an Alpha. If you do, I'll flash it and test it out. Good work

I have been working on this since about the time CM10 A2.99999 was released. The first time it didn't even boot, the next time, touch screen didn't work, and i've just been wiping out issues since then. It's pretty stable, has about the same battery life as CM10 A3 but I know of some apps that help it greatly. Right now I can get about a 12 hour battery life. This includes a phone call or 2, texting, some web browsing, and a little bit of gaming during my web design class.
I have it to a point where it can be a daily driver for some. I want it to be a little bit more stable. I'm free today so i'll spend most of my evening working on it. Tomorrow i'll have a little free time.

isn't it kind of like being married? would this be waking up with same ROMan every morning? (anybody get it?)
do nightlies seem to get issues resolved on a quicker basis? not that I have had any yet with the 4.3's I have run so far. actually pretty impressed so far.
Depending on your style of life (and view of marriage) it's more like being married but waking up with a different sister every morning. Problems may be resolved faster on nightlys (or not truthfully) but new ones are likely to arrive just as quickly. Plus we
are warned not to send in bug reports because being nightlys they are supposed to have bugs. I never completely understood that because we seem to be an ideal audience from which to get feedback. But those seem

you would think nightlies should be more stable. sounds like its a yes but no? which makes it a personal preference and what are you willing to tolerate or sacrifice? pretty much like everything else.
it makes things more sporting anyway. after a month on the most solid ROM my phone has ever been on, I was getting bored.
I just keep following the forums, trying different nightlys, and wait for that gem that comes along and everything works like a dream. Those gems are few and far between sometimes, but usually worth the wait. And so far, 10.2 is off to a good start!
