I have been digging through the forums forever and can't seem to find a straight answer to this question. I am a soldier in Korea right now and I just got an S3 through olleh. I am trying to find out if I can root it and install CM 10. It is the SHV-E210K model, but I just wanted to know if I could end up bricking it or possible that it wouldn't work with the Korean towers after I installed CM.
Thanks for any help in advance.
Wrong section, post in QA
Check the Korean thread here. It's dedicated for Korean S3 variants; the S, K and L. They have root instructions but I don't know about CM10.

Hi, I just recently bought a Samsung Galaxy S2X and it is rooted and currently running DarkSide.TLLE4.v1 ROM. I wanted to try out different ROMS, but i couldn't see the section for this model. I'm not sure if the T-Mobile S2 development section is for this phone as well. If someone could redirect me to the correct forum, i'd highly appreciate that.
Yes, i did try the search button and looked around. Sorry if this is a noob question.
Found this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1332
is that correct?
Yes.
Hi all, my friend has.the s2 stated above,.it's an Alltel variant and in America, my question is which android development section in xda is for his particular phone, I'd really like to add root, custom recovery and custom Rom to his phone thanks for any help

There is no specific forum(s) for this variant. Do a Google search for 'SCH-R760 XDA' & you'll get most of the posts relating to this device including a thread on rooting it (it's an 'old' thread, not sure if the method still works or whatever, you'll have to read it to find out).
Hey everyone
First just want to give a huge shout out to all the contributing developers on this site. You guys rock!
Alright, my GF has a Galaxy S2 GT-i9100m Bell/Virgin (Canada) model im trying to root.
Its currently running 4.1.2 stock, I would like to root then run a custom rom (4.2.2 if possible) but im worried the i9100 model isnt the same as the i9100m and the process of flashing is different.
Could any of you fine developers point me in the direction I need to go?
(Im sorry if this question has been asked, I searched but nothing comes up for the i9100m model)
Thanks in advance
The m is bell signature, it's identical to I9100 hardware-wise.
The answer to your Q is posted right here in the general section.
BTW this belongs to Q&A.

Thank you for the reply, I do see I posted this tread in the wrong location
I will continue reading to insure I use the safest method possible.
Thanks again
Flashing a zip via recovery is the safest method on JB.

Hi all. First post here, looked around a bit but couldn't find anything specifically relating to my question.
I have a Samsung Galaxy S2 GT-19100M (Bell Canada) and I'm looking to root it (first time doing this) with Cyanogenmod. Unfortunately there is no dedicated version for that specific model. I thought I saw somewhere that you are to use the international version (GT-19100) instead in this case. Obviously I don't want to brick my phone or anything so I was a little weary. Has anyone with the same model as me done this successfully or have any advice.
I appreciate any help you guys can offer. Thanks.
Didn't saw a cyanogenmod specifically for your version. Which processor does it have? Which motherboard? If its identical with any of the versions that has cm here, then it might work.
Edit: Did a quick search and here you go: http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/Samsung_Galaxy_S_II/GT-I9100M

I see, thank you very much! I think I'll give it a go then and try to get it working.
Hello, this is my first time posting on here.
I have an old Galaxy S3, USA version, T-mobile, SGH-T999. I was wondering how to update it to make it usable? From what I've read online the best way is to root and put in a custom ROM. The problem I'm having is finding the latest ROMs. Is there any way to find the latest official ROMs for the phone? And if I download an unofficial one, how can I know which will run well on my phone? Do I just simply get the latest unofficial ROM?
Lastly, if any one has any step by step guide or video on how to root and install ROMs it would be much appreciated as I've never done something like this before. Sorry if this has been posted before, I'm new to this site and have been having trouble navigating and searching old posts.
Thank you.

I suspect the reason that you haven't gotten any responses in the last day or so is that you are on the wrong part of the Forum! This is the area for the Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 9.7" Tablet, not the Galaxy S3 Smartphone.
You might want to take a look over here for the T-Mobile S3.
Hope that helps clear things up
