Auto start of music player Bluetooth - Motorola Droid RAZR

Is there a way to disable the auto start feature on the music player when it connects to Bluetooth in my car. It connects and starts playing in the background even when I am not using it.

Yes, go to settings->Bluetooth-> press on settings for paired device you don't want to auto start -> remove check mark from media.

i don't think what you are saying is quite the answer OP was looking for, but I'm not sure. i think the answer is this:
download "Media Button Router" from Google Play, it has options to ignore Bluetooth button presses. please hit thanks button

The auto start isn't coming from Android. It's a " feature not a bug" annoying as hell behavior coming from a lot of head units in new cars. Toyota head units are notorious for this. The app I mentioned turns a lot of that behavior off but it's not perfect. Hopefully the app author updates the software someday to just ignore the first button press signal on reconnect, or someone else writes an app to do just that, but it works well enough now.

I had the same exact problem when i would get in my Ford Escape with Sync! It would start by itself! Then directions I listed will allow you to still to connect and use your phone for ALL functions, Including playing music when YOU want too! Music play just will not start by itself!
Settings--->bluetooth--->press gear (settings) for paired device you want to stop media auto play for--->remove check mark from Media audio. Make sure you still have a check mark in Phone audio!
Your phone will now connect to car but not start media player!

same problem

Problem: I cant uncheck the profile Media Audio:
I am trying in Bluetooth settings in Car Multi-media device to uncheck Media audio, when I press it says connecting, does that mean I have to to this step while in the car?
then again as per your answer just checking, if i open an email with an attachment or open a file Music Play, will it automatically connect to the BT?
thanks for your help

I am the developer of Bluetooth Connect & Play (this forum won't allow me to post a link, search for me in the store) . I may have a way to help you. Email me (my email is on the linked App's store listing) if you'd like to beta test this. I don't know if it fully works, but looking for people to test.

[Q] ***Request*** Turn off Automatic Music Player when connected via BT

I use my Atrix BlueTooth in my Pick Up for all calls. When I switch the stereo to BT Audio the Atrix automatically starts Music Player. Is there a way to shut this off? It is a pain in the butt when I want to watch HBOgo movies or listen to Pandora....I have to pause the Music Player because there is no way I know of to shut it down

Thanks for the Reply, I looked up that app, " Tasker ". Looks like a sweet app for $6.50. But I dont need any of the other features it provides. I would like to know how to disable the Music Player Automatic Startup function without spending anything on an app to be honest.
Try Llama. It's basically tasker lite. And itself free!

No worries - I wasn't trying to push you to get the app, merely mentioned it in case you had it / could look up the functions I mentioned as a guide to finding your own fixes.

Did you check the settings in the music app to see if you can override the headset? I think that's how its seeing your BT connector.

Ford Sync and BT Audio Streaming?

Hi,
I have a 2012 Ford Focus with Sync and not able to get the audio to stream over Bluetooth on my Verizon GSIII. I've looked in the Bluetooth menu on the phone and it says phone and audio sync. However when I go into Phone mode in my vehicle, only phone call audio will come through the speakers but If I try streaming music, no audio comes through the speakers (or the phone). Does anyone have Ford Sync and has successfully streamed audio through bluetooth? If so, are there settings I'm missing somewhere?
I have no issue with my GS3 and Ford Sync. But I encountered it before using my older Android phone. I resolved it by doing a master reset and pairing them again. Hope this helps.
I don't personally own sync... My Mustang and F150 are too old but I drove my Dads Fusion yesterday. I didn't have a ton of time to play here is what I found worked....
First Sync the 2,
Then go in my phone into the Bluetooth menu and click on sync and make sure they are paired & connected.
(Generally in the past it just automatically did that like on my Tbolt.)
I'll let you know as I play with it more. It was very clear bluetooth audio at that!!
I have a 2011 Ford Flex and have no issue. Make sure you're saying. "Bluetooth Audio" when prompt by the voice command from the car. If you're still are having issues try pulling the fuse in the vehicle for your SYNC system (look in your owner's manual for location) for about 60 seconds, allow it to sit for 10 minutes, resync your phone and try again.

Does the send/receive text messages work on Sync? I haven't figured that out, just curious if anyone else has or if it just doesn't work at all. Thanks in advance.

It worked with my DX2 so I can only assume it would work with the SGIII. It's not a very forgiving or likable feature though.

I have a 2009 Focus and have used several brands of phones all with Sprint and have been able to use bt audio. In some occasions I have to go to the bt screen and press and hold your bt connection and you will get a submenu that let you select the audio or media connection.

I did make sure the volume was turned up on my phone. The Sync in my vehicle has a button to press to go into phone mode and that is what i was in... i cycled through settings there but couldn't find anything for media. I also pressed the Aux button in the car to be sure it didn't want that mode, but that was actually looking for an auxiliary connection and not bluetooth.... I'll have to experiment some more with what some people talked about in this thread, but so far no dice.

turn you bt on, on the right side of Sync there is a (*) for setup, press it you will see the call-media audio settings. select the media setting and you should be ok. you MUST be Paired to do this with bt on.

Bluetooth breaks voice to text recongnition

Galaxy Note 2 - Verizon
I noticed I am able to talk to text using the messaging and gtalk app just fine while at home with bluetooth turned on. However once in and paired to my 2012 Toyota Highlander I am no longer able to talk to text in those applications unless I turn bluetooth off. Google Now is unaffected at all.
Anyone else notice this bug?
Thanks.

This has effected me on Google now also. The only thing that works right is s-voice, but who wants to use that!? I found a workaround, but you are basically still using your phone for the voice recognition, and the Bluetooth strictly for voice calls. If you can work with that and just toggle between the two if you want to use your Bluetooth for other audio, this will work for you.
Just go into your Bluetooth settings for whatever device you have paired, and turn off "media audio". Voice detection will now work fine, but you have to do it through the phone(which kind of defeats the purpose, but hey...it's just a temporary workaround). Hope this helps

I hear you there, I'm not constantly jumping back and forth between the two, so for now it works, just gotta change it when I want to stream.

Not just the Note II either. My SGS3 does exactly the same thing. Seems like a bug or someone, somewhere thought it was good idea. Siri (on my iPhone 4S)worked while streaming audio and paired to my car and my Nexus 7 works too (even though it doesn't have a 'phone' both options are there and checked and it works).
I just noticed this last night. While my headset was paired, I tried to use speech recognition through Swiftkey Flow Beta and it would not work. Also, when I hit the multi-purpose button on my headset to voice dial, SIRI would come up instead.
SIRI must die. Soon.
Is there anything new with this issue?
Between this and the other problem with the music player auto starting, my enjoyment of my note 2 while in my car is severely limited.
No movement but something needs to happen as this is really annoying.

BT auto plays music

Music app automatically plays once I get into the car and BT is connected. Also BT keeps asking me every time I get into the car if I want to share the contacts although I have disabled contact sharing with the car when I have done the pairing. Two very silly and annoying issues. Is there any fix?
Does that to me too, I am gonna try disabling Google music, or make Spotify preset music app. Then report back

Contact sharing is a constant request across multiple phones and multiple Bluetooth devices I have had before. This problem is at least a few years old to me so I suspect it is an Android issue. Seems to be dependent on what Bluetooth device you connect it to.
Music automatically playing I suspect is the same - Bluetooth device dependent. I vaguely remember this happening before but it's certainly not as common to me as the contact sharing problem.

I'm fed up of both and can't find a solution. I have already had my car set to not import contacts however every single time BT connects, phone asks to share contacts and I have to press no. Also it picks up ab audio file from the phone and plays it. Annoying and ridiculous.

Disable stock music player or stop its auto lauch on BT?

Hi all. Love the 10 Pro!!!
Not so good is that I can't remove or disable the stock music player (music).
I use Pulsar but when I connect my Sony wh-1000xm2 through BT it automatically launches the horrible huawei music app and starts playing.
Any ideas how to get around that?

In settings, go to battery, tap on Launch, scroll down to Music and disable , you'll get a popup with three options, disable all three.

I know it's not really resolution, but try changing default app for Music. Just search "Default app settings" in settings.
OP here.
I may have solved this.
In settings-apps I disabled all music permissions and then deleted cache and all data. Then I set Pulsar to my default music app.
Now Music no longer shows in battery-launch anymore so I guess it is effectively disabled.
Fot me this is OK now.
In combination with this problem, I can't even set spotify or Amazon music player as default, it's not even on the list, any ideas?
Thanks bro. Nailed it to the heart. Works for honor 9 lite.
