Similar thing happens to me but only below 10% when I used some apps/widgets, so strange that it happens to you at ~55%.

Press the power + volume up button till you get three vibrates.. And then charge for few hours.. It should do the job..
Still ain't working then go to youtube and search for Xperia S battery mod and it will teach you to dis-assemble the battery
Hey guys a strange thing happens to my new XS today: I charged it to full and left it on charge for about 1 hour while still using it. Then suddenly the battery indicator started to go backward. Then I restarted the phone and the battery was down to 93%. Is that normal?
Thanks for any advice.

Yes, that way you don't overcharge the battery.

S3 battery draining even while turned off

Im not sure why its draining even when the device is off. Is it the S3 or the battery thats faulty? Anyone had similar experience?

this is the reason why im updating the firmware of my s3. from 4.0.4 to 4.3 jelly bean. im not yet done downloading the stock rom.
by the way what is your firmware? is it because of "cell standby" when you look at the status of your battery?.

my android is 4.1.2. What are the sign that my battery is leaking?
If the phone is turned off and the the battery is discharging it's most likely a bad battery. What's the voltage of the battery when fully charged? It should be 4.2v; if it's less then your battery is bad and doesn't hold a full charge anymore.

I just left my device turned off(as in power off) and saw that my device is heating up. Is this caused by software? does s3 still need battery to function while powered off? I just lost 10% while powered off for about an hour. This is really strange. What process is running when the phone is off?
Dirty contacts ???
anyone else?

Yes I have the same experience.
It seems to be the problem with the phone because I tested this on the OEM battery and Anker battery (3rd party brand with good reputation, not some cheap china batteries).
I never turn the phone on when I tested this, but you can see the battery level indicator when you plug in the charge cable. I had both batteries charged to full (green light comes on) then pull the charge cable. When I replug the cable (and phone is off of course), both batteries can lose up to maybe 1/10 of the level bar as soon as 2 hours!! The level is nearly zero after 24 hours.
I charged up the batteries full again, then took it out and leave it out overnight. The phone shows full battery level when I put the battery back in the following day.
When the phone is switched off, it still consumes battery eg. to keep the clock running, but it should drain really slowly. Maybe it is the problem with the S3 battery level reporting, or maybe something is eating battery. I never felt any heat when the phone is off, plugged in for charging or not.

HTC Desire 626x Battery charge problem

After charging my HTC desire 626x fully, power drains out to very low level suddenly and unexpectedly. For example after 100% charge I often find that charge decreases to 60% or even below though I do not extensively use the phone. Last time the charge of the phone was 64%. Within a minute or two it restarted and charge decreased to 2% only.
I am at a loss. Do not know what the problem is?
Anybody facing similar problem like that I shared just now? and got out of the problem?
Pls. response.
Regards,
Mamun

HH7 Battery Calibration

Hi, I have HH7 almost 1.5yrs old. From last 20 days it started to suddenly turn off when battery reaches 30% or 40%. More over charging time has become variable, sometimes it takes 1 hours to charge 100% and sometime 4-5 hours. Battery-health seems to be Good in "About" section of settings. I have calibrated the battery once or twice but nothing positive. Overall usage time after 100% charge is about 5-6 hours of moderate use. What should I do? Please help me with your expert and genuine guidance. Thank u.

Got the same problem a month ago (turning off at 30%) and now my phone is turning off at 80%. The honor 7 battery seems to be really bad. Now I'm waiting to change my phone battery.

Nice. Not that expensive.
So I've replaced the battery but the runtime is still bad...
I've tried to delete the battery stats.. In the instruction it's been written that the phone must be loaded when it's shutdown. But everytime I put the charger at the phone it starts automatically.
Got anybody an idea or is my new battery faulty?
