hey everyone, i've got a big problem after using WB's 2.3.3 rom with hotfix v005, i can't turn into xrecovery or conenct to flashtool and reinstall it there does anyone know a solution?
Do you know how to get into xrecovery properly and do you know how to get into flash mode for flashtool properly? Tell me your steps and I will see if they match the proper ones.

getting in xrecovery:
reboot the phone and start pressing the back button at SE logo.
getting into flashtool:
just plug in the USB with debugging in on?

omfg.... did you atleast read any post? i don't need to flash anything... i need for flashtool to just detect my phone...
Or you can try this: after you have flashed a firmware on your phone, reinstall the drivers (SEUS and PC Companion) then reboot your computer. Once PC rebooted turn on USB debugging and Unknown Sources and open up flashtool, it should work.

too late ... but solution
download and paste spearately chargemon(file) and xrecovery(file). i think both are in tar format. they should have been installed with xrecovery. but, maybe u accidentally deleted them or corrupted them or 3rd-party-apps could have done the corruption. download and paste spearately chargemon(file) and xrecovery(file) to phone's memory (system/bin/PASTE HERE). if the one or more of the files i specified existed already, you should replace them with the downloaded ones as it is possible that they are corrupted.
THIS IS THE WAY TO GET xRECOVERY BACK coz u said u cant boot into recovery.
(NOT THE SOLUTION TO DRIVERS PROBLEM).
Hi, recently i had to switch to an xp laptop. I downloaded the latest Flashtool and pc companion and a few kernels. Upon trying to flash an ftf, i got an error saying drivers not installed. So i went to the drivers folder and tried to install with the tool. Said installation was complete. I tried to flash the kernel again, gave me the same error about no drivers installed. I then tried to use pc companion and also installed every possible driver in the provided tool. Still get the same error. So what now? I really wanna switch roms.

Did you try to reboot? Remove the driver from device manager, reboot, install drivers, reboot.

Have you tried with flashtool->driver->driver.exe in ft folder ? Along with adb selected?
Sent from my X10i using XDA
You need to choose from the Flashtool-drivers.exe to install "adb" and "flashmode" drivers.
Before connecting to flashtool put your phone in flashmode (power off phone, hold back key and plug in the cable while holdin, gren lite will lid).
Then you will see the cpomputer to insatlling some drivers. After that you'll be ready to go.
Yep, that's one of the first things I did. As for the second suggestion it starts installing the drivers but then my phone phone just turns back on and leaves flash mode. the computer freezes up and i have to reboot it... how can i install the flash drivers manually? The drivers.exe doesn't work, my phone misbehaves like i said above. Thanks so far guys!

Hmmm... Is xp recognizing your device as unknown device in devices manager? Try if it possible, to install it manual (going to unkonown device, install from cd as say (I do not remember) , and choose the .inf from the SEMC_signed folder in the flashtool drivers.) Are you sure that debugging is enabled?

Xp recognises it as a semc device. Debugging is enabled. I'll try the manual method and get back with the results!

Try to get into the recovery.
Wipe dalvik and cache partition
Fix permissions
Maybe will help this? Otherwise if it is a kernel issue as the friend wrote, we will try something different Also make sure, pc companion and SEUS are not running (check it through the task manager)
Edit: Which rom and kernel will you use? I'm using the xperia S ICS... it's amazing...
It's driver related i believe, I'll try that regardless... I'm on cm7.2 fxp 128 or 129, can't remember. Using cosmic ui kernel v3 with data extension enabled (or something like that)

OK, have you tried differet USB port?
See if there are some Wondows updates pending and install them.
Try to install flashmode driver manually. You will find one in the package here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1582554
Okay, major update: the x10 drivers are fine as far as i can tell, however it is the Flashtool driver which is broken despite the drivers installation tool saying installation complete. To further compound the problem, after half a minute of my phone being connected in flash mode, the computer freezes up so only rebooting recovers it. So how can I manually install the drivers without connecting my phone? I've got a copy of the Gordongate folder, what next? Cheers!

Maybe your pc HDD has an issue,
Run "chkdsk / r" in a cmd prompt
And press Y when prompted
Just to make sure your drive hasn't gone dirty lol
That will do a disk check at next startup
Also try fully reinstalling flashtool 9

Hiya guys,
I use XDA Developers a lot but it seems that I have f***ed up my phone. I wanted to go back to stock rom from CM 7.2, but Sony PC Companion didn't recongize my phone, so I decided to do it manually. While trying to do it, on flash tools I clicked on the wrong kernel and re-locked the boot loader without getting rid of CM7.
Now... here is the problem. I have tried to restore the phone via Sony PC Companion but it says something about no updates for my phone even though I clicked on repair, but it also doesn't recognize it as a X10i (just says Sony / Sony Ericsson phone). And I tried to fix it using Flashtools (different versions) but it still doesn't work...
Anyone able to help me. I would really really be grateful as I am using a O2 XDA Steller at the moment and its proper sh*t :S
I had the same problem, so I did RESTORE in my RECOVERY and then everything worked out. and I flashed different kernels to use recoveries to see where was my backup

Hi, I have a little problem, when ever I want to root my phone using SuperOneClick, but when I try it always says that it's not rooted. It's Android 2.1. I have windows XP. I heard that I have to install some drivers to recotnise my phone. Where could I get the drivers? And can my bootloader be unlocked if I haven't installed a custom rom, kernel or even rooted my phone?
Thanks

It may be easier to install flashtool, which also comes with usb-drivers, after you've installed flashtool, you have to install the gordon's gate drivers in the driver-folder of flashtool.
PC Companion can be handy if you mess up your phone and you want to start over again, but I could provide you with proper firmware flashable with flashtool too.
You can root your phone using flashtool, and unlock your bootloader too, although that doesn't always work reliably, but you need root to unlock your bootloader and do anything else really.
Hi guys,
I had a rooted X10 on stock ROM, however it started to lag recently and I've decided to restore it to factory settings.
Restored to factory settings, phone restarted and stuck on SE logo.
Flashed stock firmware with Flashtool, flashing went successfully, but still stuck on SE logo!
I dont remember the bootloader unlock status neither baseband version, its my mothers phone... For sure, I removed SD card. Tried flashing 3 times, no luck.
What should I do? Thanks in advance for all that will reply...

I checked those options in Flashtool, didnt help.
Could this be a problem with a bootloader? Is it being flashed separately, not in firmware? Or maybe Broadband?
