Hi ya'll
Where would I copy new .apk Flip Fonts to on my SD card, on a I997 Samsung Infuse and then be able to view or actually use them as a font on my phone? I found a thread on this site that had a few shared Flip fonts Collections that I would like to install!! I found a .RAR file, which then I had to download Winzip which I did, and extracted the files onto my PC. Then I found a few threads on here that told me what to do next but they all say different things. So I decided to ask a more specific question. I know you'll probably say my SD card. But my specific question is WHERE on my SD card (which folder??). I have noticed that I DO NOT have a System folder. I swear I don't. Thanks in advance.

Hi..
I was wondering if it is possible to save my contact onto my SD card.
I want to save them, before I wipe the Hero to install Modaco's new ROM.
Non of my contacts are google-contacts, so that is not an option.
My Hero is rooted, and I have been playing around in the filesystem, using "File Explorer".. I have come across a file called: "htccontacts.odex"
It is a file in system/app.
It uses 1MB.
I haven't been able to open the file in notepad or wordpad, with readable result.
My question to you, my dear android-lovers, simply is:
Does "htccontacts.odex" contain my contacts, their picture aswell as their facebook-link?
Because that could be an easy way to dbackup contacts..
Maybe to easy??
Regards
Tazimn
i dont know, but what you could do to test it is:
boot in cyanogen mod, and rename the file (with adb shell), then boot and look if your contacts have been gone (afterwards name it back to original name)..
or check whether the size of the file increases when you add some contacts.
Yeah... that could be a way to to it.. and maybe it will.. but I am holding my breath to see, if anyone in this forum knows exactly what the file contains..
Thank you for the idea..
Ok so idk if im exactly supposed to post this here and im sorry if its the wrong place, but whenever i transfer a theme onto my phone, its in my SD card, i unplug my phone from my computer, go into my SD card folder and i cant open any of it, like its a bunch of separate files for example: "_SETUP" "0CABEAE0" and so on, but i cant open any of them to install the theme onto my phone, like they all have the windows icon for their thumbnail, anyone have a tutorial or solution to fix this, and i dont know what model my hd2 is, i got it at the end of may, so idk if that will help at all and i bought it from t mobile.

the themes you are downloading come in a ".cab" which it sounds like you are unzipping. do not do this.
simply download the .cab. move the cab onto your phone and click it to run it.
Yeah i know i need a .cab file but the only problem is, whenever i download something on this site its not a .cab file.... its usually like a xml file

May I ask witch theme you will?? I mean I have past a lot of time here on xda; and mostly (90%) of the theme installation are cab files. Maybe there is a other problem.
I think i may of fixed the problem, im downloading the themes straight from my hd2 and it gives me the cab file, but i dont exactly know all the themes that I downloaded, lets just say it was a bunch.

You have different way sir;
A) you transfer the cab file to SD and navigate with your mobile device to the cab file, press on it and install (select always internal memory as installation path fore themes)
B) You unpacked the cab file (by using a cab program; don't extract cabs with Winrar/Winzip/7Zip, it will not work) in a folder somewhere on your PC; and you use CFC-GUI fore trans-fair it to your device.
Cab programs:
- Payable; WinCE CAB Manager
-Freeware; Cabwiz, QuickCab 1.0
CFC_GUI

Okay, i think i will just stick with the way im doing it now haha, thank you for helping though.
My phone is rooted, i've cleaned out most of the bloatware and i'm starting to customize it to my own, but i'm trying to find out where to put my music/ringtones/pictures/wallpapers and i'm kind of lost.
When I mount and open it to view files, these are the folders in my internal storage
Android
ClockworkMod
data
DCIM
FeebeRings
layar
TitaniumBackup
newsImage
update.zip
Can someone please tell me exactly where to put all of my things? It would be GREATLY appreciated, thanks!
For your Music,, you can put them in any folder,, the OS does a screen on the SD Card on every boot and it will detect your music. So basically just put them in a folder named Music.
The Ringtones go in \system\media\audio\Ringtones
Pictures Goes in DCIM, wallpapers can be put in the same directory cuz when the OS scans the SD Card it will detect your wallpapers as pictures.
The built in wallpapers are in an .APK so you can not have your wallpapers added to the built in...
^ I think you could probably take the TWwallpaper .apk and extract it to find the pics and delete/add them and then rezip it?
system/app/twwallpaperchooser/res/drawable-hdpi
this is where the backgrounds are. I wonder if you could just add/delete them in this folder using root explorer?
I have never done it.. but it seems like it could be done.

So, I have the same question (having just successfully flashed), but am confused about the answer. In the poster's question, as in my phone, there is no "system" directory.
I still have bionix-v-1.3.1.zip in the root directory of the internal memory. Apparently the poster had already removed the .zip file of whatever version he/she flashed from the root directory. The only place I can find a \system\media\audio\Ringtones directory is in that zip file. I see all of my currently available ringtones there, and can't find them in any other directory. (This seems odd, as I'd have expected them to be created somewhere else in phone's internal memory, as part of the flashing process).
Are you saying to just go ahead and treat bionix-v-1.3.1.zip like a directory, and drag a file into the directory in that file?
P.s. I have that "is this so obvious to everybody but me?" feeling, since xKrazYx626 seemed to have no problem understanding your answer
You guys need to get root explorer to view these directories

Hi,
i have a Galaxy S2 and bought an SD Card. I decided to move all my pictures to the SD-Card. Now all dates are changed to the date i moved them, meaning that they does not show up in the gallery in the correct order (order they were taken).
The good news is that they are saved with the correct date and time in the file name.
Is there a way or tool to convert the file name to the creation date?
thanks in advance
I would recommend attempting to try and place the pictures back onto the phone itself unless its that necessary to store them on the sdcard. you can always keep a backup or the pc. as far as it goes for the renaming tool, i dont believe their is such thing and that would have to be done manually, sorry
I'm in search of the Launcher3 folder located on the internal sd card of this phone would someone be so kind as to zip it and upload it for me please it contains wallpapers and I deleted it thank you
Update
No need found it.
Mods please delete.
Setting a reminder for when I get home. What is the file location?
