hi guys, i'm new in this forum, and i'm new to android too, i just bought a htc desire x and want it to be root, but i have problem when trying to get token id in hasoon2000 HTC Desire X All-In-One Toolkit V2.0 [1-1-2013], it says C:\ Document is not recognized as an internal or external command openable program or batch file.
usb debugging is already connected, please any one kindly fixing my problem, thx
sorry for my bad english. btw i'm from indonesia
Did you follow these steps?
How To Use. THIS IS FOR THE PC ONLY. No plans ever for Mac or Linux. Sorry.
1. Download the toolkit DO NOT RENAME THE FOLDER
2. Download Winrar from here. Install it after you download it
3. Extract the folder anywhere.
4. Run the program.
thx for replying so quick, after i downloaded then i extract to desktop and just run the program by clicking the symbol written as desire, am i doing it right?
Try to unpack it somewhere else on a root of some partition of your PC, try to unpack it to non system partition.
ok thx, i'll try it tomorrow, i'm sorry i've to go home coz it's 11.41pm already in my town, and i'm still on friend's house.
thx anyway for your reply, i'll let you know the progress
hi nlooooo, i did what u told me to do and it worked, i unpacked to (Cdrive, but another problem came on my device when i clicked get token id.
here is the picture shows the problem
@nlooooo.....i just tried your way on rooting this device, and same problem came up on step 8 when getting token id, still it says C:\ Document is not recognized as an internal or external command openable program or batch file, i've found out my device still locked, is it because of the device still lock? here's the image shown
problem solved
hi nlooooo......i've rooted my device, just try to put all the downloaded file to C:drive, and followed your tutorial on your thread, and i succeeded, at least i saw superuser on my device, thx alot for your tutorial.
No problem, that's why we're here. If you see it then it should be it. Try to install some app that requires root privileges (Titanium Backup for ex) and see if it can get SU rights.
hi.....any recommendation of apps or what to do after this rooting? cos i really a noob in android and root things. thx

Go and open Superuser app, swipe to first screen and see if the binary is installed. Then go and clear data for Titanium and open it again.
If you still have the problem use some root explorer to check folder system/bin if there is a file named su.

i am getting stuck at last step i am always getting this message sending 'unlocktoken' (0kb) .
i have not installed htc sync app but just directly installed the drivers for unlocking purpose.
the boot loader is recognizing the usb connection as Fastboot usb.
using windows 7 32 bit operating system.
tried putting the unlock_code in c drive and desktop but it doesnt work.
the file is just a 1kb file.
the default view is shown as a vlc player file.
any help will much appreciated. this is my 1st htc mobile and am not used to this kind of rooting. previously owned a samsung so was using odin a lot.

hey guys, been a short term fan of android, and i recently (or what i thought so) rooted my X10i with the original RB..20 Firmware.
Today i updated to the new R2BA026 firmware. and my device appears routed but it not, how do i go about rooting this firmware to remove the annoying Moxier apps etc.
Plz Plz Plz Help

Read this thread !!!
I just found it Lol
Thank you for telling me anyhow.
im really stuck on rooting it even with the instructions. im in the CMD.exe and all im getting is it cannot find the files even though they are directly on my C drive and also it IS connected via USB / Development mode
hellllllllllllllllp!
do you have adb installed ?
I prefer this method - forum.xda-developers.com, having tried the other today it's a bit more complicated afterwards imo trying to run adb.
the other way you said to me i tried on my unlocked X10i, but it wont work on this build as its already above the 24 build.
Ive downloadd the SDK and i have the ADB.exe in the kit but am i looking at the wrong thing? how would i install it if it just runs a cmd.exe?
With this method you can root any regional firmware, atleast up to 026 and you will get updates from seus, root will be gone but its hopefully just to root the new firmware again.....
Saw somewhere a full script with adb inside no need to install it on the computer but atm i can find it
ok well, erm, which method would be better, ?? shall i do the original root procedure i did before flashing the files on to the phone?

extract the exploid_x10 to a folder with the same name directly under C:
then put the adb.exe, AdbWinApi.dll,AdbWinUsbApi.dll into same folder
then cd to that folder with command promt and then run runme.cmd
that should do it
ok well so far so goo most of the files are moving on to the SD card BUT...
c:\exploid_x10mini>adb push su /sdcard/su
failed to copy 'su' to '/sdcard/su': Permission denied
thats what im getting on my Cmd panel.
Sorry, adb.exe, AdbWinApi.dll,AdbWinUsbApi.dll should be put into Exploid_x10/FILES folder.........
so do i have to create a folder inside the exploid_x10mini? because the files are already there

nah then u got the right one, your sdcard shouldnt be mounted to pc
and you have to turn wifi off and on when program tells you to
usb debugging should be enables on the phone aswell
all good till running rootshell when it comes back saying...

rootshell
rootshell: permission denied
sorted YEY!!!
Thank you for all your help. Im not a complete noob ith computers, i know quite a bit but, dealing with android is a bit of a new experience.

Hello,
Here is the short story.
I have Samsung Galaxy ACE which is rooted.
Till y'day I was using CM9 Beta 8 ICS 4.0.4 and it was working well.
I installed CM10 JB for Galaxy Ace alpha1 from "hxxp://maclaw.pl/?page_id=180#comment-3642"
Now the problem is, JB doesn't have File Manager installed and I need to install TB to revert my backups.
Due to some unknown reason I am not able to access internet on my device either through GPRS or 3G connection.
I am desperately looking for a way to access my SDCARD wherein I have all my apk's which I can install however, without File Manager I am not sure how to install an apk.
I did some google search and came across topics about installing apk using Android SDK etc.. however I would not want to work on SDK as I feel its bit tedious job for me.
I also tried Android Injector however that didnt work even if I have enabled USB debugging Mode for adb + apps.
Now, I am hoping that, I can use the Terminal Emulator which is preinstalledo n my phone to install apk present on my sdcard.
However, I am not sure how to do that, It would be really appreciated if anyone can suggest the steps to install apk present on my sdcard from Terminal Emulator available on my phone.
Here are some of the screen captures

Never mind...
I managed to install Astro File Manager apk from Terminal Emulator.
For those who are interested, here is what I had done.
Previously, I wasn't able to browse sdcard contents from TE,
I rebooted my phone once, fired up TE again
~Android$ su
Allow root access for TE
~Android# cd sdcard
~Android# ls ( Contents of SD card are listed ) I had copied astrofm.apk on root of SDCARD
~Android# pm install astrofm.apk
Success !
Thanks

I very much appreciate the quick tutorial!
However, with that being said, I am having an issue trying to install my .apk onto my Motorola Xoom (Rooted running CM10.1) through the use of Terminal Emulator. I first tried installing the .apk from my File Manager and just clicking on the icon, and clicking Install, like one would think one should be able to do. When that method failed, multiple times(kept saying "insufficient storage, please delete files through app manager") which by the way, I know for a fact I have 15.8GB of storage left on my Xoom, so this should not be the issue. I then decided to try and install through Terminal Emulator. Now one would think it would be about the same as using adb commands on a Computer, which it somewhat is I guess you could say. So I go to T.E. and type the commands to get Super User access, then cd sdcard to go into the directory, then cd download because this is where my file is located, then I type pm install ****.apk.
I get a line of command that says: a) pkg: ****.apk and then b) Failure [INSTALL_FAILED_INSUFFICIENT_STORAGE], and then the command line just goes back to my download folder directory.
I've had this issue before on my Galaxy S3, but can't remember how I ended up resolving the issue. Think I did a factory data reset/wipe, which I don't want to have to do to my Xoom. So any assistance would be much appreciated. I do understand that your device was a Galaxy ACE, but I wouldn't think it would matter as to what the device is, since it is the same install method/command for any Android device essentially. Hope someone can help out. If not, I may have to post in another Device Thread (Motorola Stingray Xoom I would assume).
Many thanks in advance, and I will click the Thank You, if any responses come through.
Really appreciate for the guide man

Hi DannyShane,
Not sure if this is still relevant and you are around here, since it's been a very long time and I stopped using Android
I am not an Android geek but here are my 2 cents...
You need to keep .apk file on the root of the SD CARD instead of a folder. IIRC, I had the same exact error which you had mentioned, I was trying to install .apk which was placed in a folder and it didnt work., then I had to move the .apk file to root and it worked flawlessly.
Extremely sorry for the very late response though. I use my secondary e-mail for this forum and missed replies on this thread.
@ All others who have replied, I am glad that, my little finding helped you guys.
Cheers
I have a few things to add to hsotnas answer. The insufficent space error seems to be a very generic error on android that can have various causes. Maybe there is something like this in the android source code:
PHP:
try{
installApk();
} catch (Exception ex){
output("Failure [INSTALL_FAILED_INSUFFICIENT_STORAGE]");
}
If you understand what I mean
I had this error myself a few days ago and for me it was caused by some left over files in the /data/app-lib directory. It was a self-developed application and I added a library to this directory manually. As I uninstalled the application, it wasn't removed and the reinstall failed with the above mentioned error. So make sure the directories /data/data/app.package.name/ and /data/app-lib/app.package.name/ are empty.
I tried this, to install the play store apk. But I get the error INSTALL_FAILED_INVALID_URI. What is this error refering to?

I'm trying to recover an old tablet and need to install a file manager... the touch screen inst working so I thought terminal would do the job... but .APK's dont show when I go to the root of the SD card and type 'ls'
An ideas?
Thanks it works
failed on me ..
I have been able to get the update tool software to flash the kdz file and I over right the bin in the process.
The phone flashes fine. But, after flashing I still have no root at all. I'm following every step by step instruction.

Not sure the situation of your window 8 and no one can help you without proper details, but my friend, in my humble opinion your title "[Q] Lelus root method crashes windows 8" is sort of misleading and may be scaring people from using Lelus method. It sounds like you are telling people that "Lelus root method crashes windows 8, so dont use it."
Make it "[Q] Please help! Why Lelus root method is not working on my windows 8?" to be more precise.
Are sure your clicking the network test flash button? Do not click the start button right under the kdz browser folder thing. There should be a button on the lower right hand. Also run the prgram in compatibility as administrator.

my win8 laptop has a few runtime errors during the flashing process itself, and I have to reboot afterwards, but never something as bad as this. you may be experiencing other problems not related to this phone.
may not be the BEST solution but you could always download tinyXP and virutalbox and try everything in a virtual machine..........
Yea there also virtual xp you can use. I believe is from windows website. Try with cousins or friends computer? Maybe theres will work.

Switching it from the usb 3.0 port to the 2.0 port worked. I successfully got the phone in s/w mode to run with the software update tool. After the tool finishes my phone reboots. Still no root..... I am following every step....
Its all Security and Compatibility issue. Yesterday, I have done some changes in my Root Guide.
======================
2) Download Root_and_Flash_Guide_byCMahendra(date).zip file (attached with this post) and extract in your C-Drive.
Now you will get three folders named "C:\RootLelus" and "C:\RootFlash" and "C:\shttps"
If these folders need any permissions you should provide in folder security section by adding user "everyone" or "<yourname>" and give full access. (example video) This is Optional and should be done if you have permission errors while flashing. Do it for all three folders.
==================
Also run EXE files with WindowsXP compatibility mode and Run As Administrator, if any trouble. In fact I never did this. Just a suggested workaround.
STILL NOTHING IS GUARANTEED AND MAY NOT WORK FOR YOU.
Do some trial and error and you tell us.:good:

Hello everyone.
I own a rooted THL w8s.
Today, I accidentally deleted a folder from the root menu.
The story is this one; I was trying to install an app but it would fail installation. So I read in here that if i moved the apk file in the root browser/data/app it would then get installed.
So I copied the file, went to the app folder but I couldn't find how to paste it. So I exited the app folder, long pressed it and a menu popped up that had the choice move. Unfortunately, what was moved was the app folder from the root menu and now no app is working! Worse than that, is that Google Play isn't available any more!
Any solutions?
Thanks

Weird that that would affect the Play Store since it isn't located in /data/app. But if a factory reset doesn't help, then you will have to reload the stock OS. I imagine it would need to be done with the SP Flash Tool since it's a THL and I'm assuming a MediaTek chip.

Nope. The whole idea of the flash tool is to be able to reload the OS. Doesn't matter that you did that or had a custom rom and recovery on it, it should still rewrite the OS back to it. But I don't work on MediaTek devices at my shop because hardly anyone buys them around here so I just know this stuff from reading lots of other posts. There are TONS of guides and how-to videos. You'll probably need to check some of them out and see if you are missing something or are in the wrong mode for the program to start. Any device that has the same chipset as your phone will have the same instructions for reloading the OS, just with the appropriate files for yours.

Hello.
I'm trying to copy a savegame from my phone (Mi9 Lite) so I can use it in Bluestacks for when I'm home.
I know it's location but it's in user/0/ as a com. and I only know because I can access it in Bluestacks.
I do not want to modify it so I just need read rights. Mixplorer doesn't do the trick.
Is there a way? How do apps even access the root folder when I can't.
Notes: Within the game main menu there is an option to upload and download save files to the Google Play cloud but unfortunately I cannot sign in in this game anymore. The reason is that I have modified it yesterday with 8x Speeder. If I remove the hack my offline save will be wiped again. Therefore I have to somehow access user/0/ and it's designated com. so I can back that up. Since i have no issues with Google Play itself I take it it has do with the Speedhack.
Before I modified the apk with 8x Speeder, I made legitimate purchases and those purchases were actually pulled from the Play Store but now I simply cannot sign in anymore inside of the game. Outside of the game I'm stilled logged on and have no issues. I have tried wiping the cache in both the game and the Playstore.
If you are going to ask why I used an app modifier in the first place, my first save was wiped when I had progressed for over 50 hours and I was mad as hell. Since the game is pretty much auto offline I enjoy it very much and would like to be able to backup my savegame so I can use it on Bluestacks.
Hello,
For what I understood your best hope would be to use ADB to pull these files. No need for root here I guess, only enabling developer mode and USB debugging.

That's what I feared. Try to see if you using the ADB (deprecated) backup utility helps. But I think the only valuable way would still be root, or at least a custom recovery to pull the file
