Stuck on Samsung logo - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I was not getting any network with i9300XXELLA so I´ve flashed with odin I9300UBDLJ2_I9300VILI1_I9300ZVVDLJ1_HOME.tar (which is supposed to be the ROM for Brazil, and carries Vivo). Now I´m stuck on the Samsung logo. Any thoughts?

you can try doing a factory reset.
You didn't answer in that thread, did your IMEI match the one on the box?

Enter recovery, wipe data, reboot. If it doesn't work, flash another rom.

That is what I´m about to do....all roms seem to work great...except for this network thing

it's also written under the battery.
If it doesn't match, you'll need to take it to samsung

The first rom that came on the phone allowed me to make calls. I just flashed another rom because the first rom would not let me update. The thing is that now I don´t remember which was the first rom.

Have you wiped?

Any stock rom should work, try a wipe as suggested.
Are your imei and serial numbers correct?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app

I´ve already tried 3 different stock roms and no luck.
I´ve removed the batt and it looks like a label used to be there but it was pealed off so I cannot tell that the serial or imei are...
Do you think maybe a custom rom would make any difference?

So you don't want to wipe or what?

I did wipe.

Are you sure you have a i9300? Have to double check.

That´s what it says on the device´s properties.
What´s weird is that it was working with the first custom rom. I remember it had some t-mobile on it...so I´m not sure what´s what.

You still need to check if the IMEI is correct though.

No I guess I´m out of luck and will probably have to try 300 roms until I find out which one works...

have you tried the patch?

Change modem version

So... i'm having a few problems with the 3G/HDSPA signal on my GS3. I flashed to like 6 different ROMs and all of them have TERRIBLE connection performance. It only works well when I flash to the stock firmware (CSC I9300UVCALE4).
Is this possible or am I tripping? Second, can I use the ROM I want and just change the CSC to that one?
Thanks

I know of that method, but, will it work with a custom ROM? I mean, it probably has like 1 CSC.
My CSC will not be there.
Haven't tried because the phone is charging, but it doesn't seem logic to me...
Anyways, will do a search in the forums. Thanks.

I saw that many custom ROMs include an even larger list of CSCs than the stock SAM ROM but please correct if I am wrong.
Usually it should at least include the CSCs of that specific region.
You could try and just go into that menu and check what CSCs are included in yours.

did.. even used efs pro to try to fix... imei is correct the same as on the box. only serial number changed... strange thing is that i can locate find networks that are available in my area but i cant connect to mine...
Basics that you may haqve already tried are
IMEI then Modem then CSC
Manual setting of APN for mobile network can be used for wrong CSC .
Faulty Sim is another on the list .

tried all above.. only thing is that i cant change csc * # 272 * # imei aint working.. not registered to network is my msg..
apn are correct as i flashed stock form sam firmware. so i dont know..
sim - i used 4 dif no luck.. all are working on other device..
what makes me worried is the serial number, that is preventing my phone to get connected i believe
so here we are... IMEI is corrupted - i was noob and i just quick checked the number on box and under the battery, but after further inspection i have spoted difference between the imei in d phone and the actual on casing / box. so its corrupted. thats why i am unable to register to network.
somehow it get corrupted during the flashing process... so now i will try to restore the imei from the scratch... i am not sure if i iwll be able to perform such a thing but i will try my best.. any tips wil be apreciated.

its amazing how people still think.. just get over it and read my story.. _--->my phone was purchased by me in vodafone store, after one week i cracked the screen ... fall off my pocket. no warranty anymore. now i wanted flash cm9 due to flash player was needed and my imei is lost.. its a generic now 004..... so i am screwed. i need someone with some knowledge and feelings for such a mistake like this.
I know what you are going through, my first droid lost the imei the first day I bought it, no warranty.
So far I haven't seen anyone solve this problem. Did you back up the imei? There is a post from someone who said they are trying to fix it and would post their results. Another user has had some idea of how to fix it, I'll try and link his post.

[Q] phone keeps disconnecting from network

Hello. for a month now i have this problem. ever since i installed omega 4.2.2 rom it happened. The phone suddenly lose signal, even in open places. only a reboot of the phone helps temporary. I hace tried to go back to stock, full wipe, changed kernel / modem/ everything (but the EFS folder), and nothing helped. the IMEI is okay. I even moved to another carrier so it isn't a carrier issue.
I added a Logcat. please, please, if someone can help me, I appriciate it and I would make a donation for him.
Thank you very much.

my phone became sim locked after stock rom flash

hi there all - just bought an s3 from someone on gumtree - tried it with couple of different simcards and it worked fine... it had ics on it (csc xxale8) so i though i will change it to jellybean - so following a guide here i have downloaded stock firmware BTU (UK generic) and flashed it using odin. than put a sim in and boot and it asks me for sim network unlock code... any idea what is going on?
FYI i have reset the flash counter before flashing the rom and wiping data and cache
any help?
Some older methods of simlock break after flash. Also latest releases, non of these methods work anyone (the free methods).
I'd imagine you need to buy an unlock code now. If you do, get one that will refund you if it fails
_
I'm assuming you've flashed mg4

You root it before flash?
You make a EFS backup before flash?
Did you already check what imei shows your phone with *#60#
thanks both!
yeah flashed mg4
the ics installed when i bought it was already rooted
i have not backed up EFS prior to flash but rooted and backedup EFS after flashing JB
I have checked the IEMI before flashing which corresponds to the IMEI on the box
any one can recommend an unlocker which will guarantee unlocking or money back?
I think cellunlocker can help you but, if you already have a backup of your EFS folder try to flash others modem here in xda is an mg4 especially to work with all roms, a few days ago I try it because cyanogenmod roms have no signal and after flash that modem it love because give signal to all roms, you don't loose nothing try, before spend money.

Forget modems. This cannot help you now. You need to continue your search for a recommended unlock code provider.

Patched modem is for Serial number 00000000 issue. It is not for anything else.
Like I have already said multiple times, there is only one option.

[Q] [Urgent] Phone works fine, but cant make/recieve calls or msgs

Hey
Ive had the ace for a while. It was on stock, then i rooted it and put it on Touchwiz ressurection. It worked fine but was slow
Then i updated it, and for some reason it couldnt make calls or msg, or couldnt recieve them. It says Conditinal call forwading active
Ive flashed original firmware now and the phone works fine but i still cant call or msg as it still says Conditional Call forwarding active. For some reason also it says sim error if i try to get to the call forwading page. Ive tried lots of sims. Oh yeah and 3g works, which is odd?
What do i need to do? This is really urgent and i have no clue! Im without a phone ATM.

Did you make any kind of backup of your IMEI... Maybe written it down on paper, or best of all, made a backup in galaxy toolbox?
I think there is a way to restore you IMEI if you know what it is, using a hex editor. You may have to search on google for it
