Hi all,
I know how to change the wallpaper on the lockscreen but I was wondering if it's possible to remove the grey band displaying the operator and the time. It really doesn't match my wallpaper I've searched for this but I can't find any solution.
Drizzys rom has the type of lockscreen you are after. Drop him a PM and see if he can help.
It would be great if Drizzy could provide the way that the lockscreen can be customized so we can all know, instead of PMing each other.
Thanks ritdaw. I'll give it a look.
ill second that, this would be really really interesting!!

Sorry I only said PM because I'm sure Drizzy doesn't get a chance to read all of the posts on here, Heck I try, but it takes a lot of time!
Perhaps once spamianspoon has some answers he can share with the rest of us.
You need to get one a ressource apk from your phone (/system/app/htc-ressources.apk or something like that), extract it (renaming it to .zip will do magic ), mod the ressource you need to, zip it and upload it back to your phone after renaming it to .apk .
Of course, you need to be root, and you must do a backup (nandroid is perfect for that) since it can make your current system unbootable
Thanks Dream team. I'll give it a try. Bit busy right now, so it'll be a few days. Have you done this yourself?
Cheers.

cant find that file in the path you posted.. are you sure name and path of the file are correct?
look here:
/system/framework/com.htc.resources.apk
i edited the file as described by dream_team. it works perfectly
Yes, noob question here, and yes I'm a noob at this.
I want to change the way my icons look, so I downloaded an APK ZIP file that has the icons I want. Now, what would be my next step to install them?
Thanks!
There's an app in the android market called Better Cut that allows you to take images that are stored on your SD card, and make them your application icons. To permanently change your app icon you need to root your device, and the extract the APK. Then you can change the image from there, but you would also need to download an APK signer because the moment you change the APK it changes its signature with which it is packed with.
+1 for Better Cut. I bought this app shortly after getting my g1 when it first came out.. still an awesome purchase to this day!

surely this makes it a moot question. but the answer is yes but you would have to flash it from your sd card with xrecovery.
edit: heres mine with the apps removed, open in 7zip and drag your apks into the apps folder.

I think he was asking how to make it himself. Like how to properly make the things in that META-INF folder. I've searched too and come up with nothing. It'd be nice to be able to make a custom zip and flash back my arc phone apps, I flashed the honeycomb theme from that guy who's not go3asy, and I only hate its dialer/phonebook/calllog/favorites.
maybe you can try the HTC kitchen, which requiers your computer has a JAVA environment.
The only reason I am making this thread is because after numerous times asking how to use UCCW in the themes thread I have got no responses... My only question is if someone that knows how to use the app if they were willing to maybe make a tutorial video on how to use it?? I know that your supposed to make a fonts folder and put it on root of sd card but i dont know where to put everything else i just need to know what folders i need to make and where to put them.. I tried messing around with UCCW and downloaded the starter pack themes and icons i got the icons to work but everytime i tried selecting a weather image root explorer would say granted permission but nothing happened in UCCW... Could someone please help with this topic??? I am in dire need.. HAHA Thanks in advance!!!
I keep flashing the roms a lot and have to install a couple of apps again and again,
which has been very annoying.
Is there a method to make a CWM flashable zip such as "gapps package"
Lets say these are the apps i want to turn into a single flashable zip
whatsapp,
Google Translate,
AirDroid,
Scan
I looked at threads but they were mostly for other phones, cant find anything specific for SGS 3 I9300
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1721680
Can I use the above method and where should i place the apks in the system folder?
Hi mate,
Just give the apks ,I will make a flashable package for you.
Have a look at how others have made them, it's not that hard to work out.
But who has made it? How was it made?
could you point me to so called "others"
@mk256
I appreciate your help, but
would you let me know how its done because i have a long list of apps?

Virtually any flashable zip will do, all you need to do is edit the updater-script and put all the apps in the right place. Then sign the zip and flash it.
I think you are looking for something like this:
