Ridiculous - you can as well read other things. If you avoid everything where some dumba** has not been able to understand what he does and brags about his stupidity in a forum - well you will not get far. Make up your own mind and read the related support forum here: http://www.fjsoft.at/forum/viewforum.php?f=6
"Virus or Malware" comes form the used installer SW which by default als installs something else to sponsor the cost of distribution. Just un-click what you do not want and this is it.
There is also another SW available here: http://www.psencik.cz/local-sync which you may want to check out.

Maybe use different apps? I'm not sure.

Titanium Backup has a "profiles" feature that is is described as allowing different user profiles for game progress. I've never tried it but it might work though I'm not sure how that would interact with the FB account on the phone.
Is there any kind of app out there that will give you a list of apps that are syncing? I'd go through them all and disable them but I still want a few to sync, just not all that may be.

Every so often I get a different on screen google message during phone calls; e.g. "you lost me at java" or, currently, "what a wonderful world."
Does anyone know what's behind these aphorisms or from where they are pulled?

That should not be any part of the rom. Sounds like you have a rouge app causing this.
Never heard of that. Screenshots?

Here is a cropped screenshot during a call with the contact info cut out. I realized that it only happens when I'm calling a contact whose gmail I have stored.
Might it possibly have something to do with gchat or the gapps package?
Thanks

Can this be disabled? Google reader is not even installed as far as I can see, and look at the size of that address bar!

This is just ridiculous sometimes....!

So no-one has an answer to this?

I would have thought it would be fairly obvious if you don't use it, freeze it (I prefer this to outright removal, just in case you get rid of the wrong app). Like Google Search/GMail/Talk/etc, they're not exactly critical system apps.
Is there a way to make the gmail app (or another app) that you can set the push to every 30-60 minutes? I feel the Google gmail app that is constantly connected to the server wastes both battery and data. Any ideas/solutions?
