Hi all,
Does anyone know of a bluetooth headset that integrates well with Google Now? I currently have a LG HBS700, but it will not work with Google Now.
Thanks!
Mike

Are you able to use all the GoogleNow functions, e.g. ask for directions, send a text message, etc? Did you have to tweak it at all to get it to work?
Thanks!
Mike
Jawbone.. they are pretty Much the best bt headset you can get. They have all the functionality you could need.

my blue ant T 1 seems to be working
My Motorola Sliver Elite only works while in-call or listening to media. No commands work at all.
Seems BlueAnt headsets work
None of my Motorola devices work. I use the MotoRKR T505 in my car. No voice commands, text messages don't read out. BlueAnt does have a mobile app to use with their devices.
I have actually used my Xbox 360 wireless headset. The one with Bluetooth and it works exceptionally well..

The official Microsoft one?

Yea, the black one that has the option to be used for Xbox chat and cell phone..
My original bluetooth broke and I gave it a shot, does voice, audio/video and everything else I've thrown at it...

This is a pretty handy thread so I will add mine to the list.
Jawbone Prime - only works for calls. no commands.
darn! I have the original Jawbone and it's paired with my DNA. Ihaven't tried with calls yet but, it won't give any other audio? Music etc? Also not having luck with my RocketFish RF-MAB2
I don't think it is the headset. It appears to be an issue with the way bluetooth is implemented.
http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=34348
I purchased a Jabra Extreme to replace my Jawbone Prime. Works just the same. The mic is not used for any voice input other than phonecalls.
I'm wondering if the people that say their headset works really did test with a voice-to-text app.
I have been using the BlueAnt Commute http://www.myblueant.com/products/speakerphones/commute/
It is working with reading the text messages but I cannot figure out how to voice call a contact. The instructions do not work on the DNA. Instead of searching the contacts, it searches the yellow pages and web for the name I provide.

My Dad wants to go the Android route and I want to tell him to get the Thunderbolt but Bluetooth is the single most important function he uses in his car. He has a 2010 Volkswagen Jetta Diesel. It pairs fine with blackberry phones.
I know that the Droid Incredible only worked with cyanogen. I'm just curious for some information on the Thunderbolt. Thanks for looking. XDA has been an amazing resource.

Well the TB is going to be capable of using Bluetooth 3.0 so I'm sure its pretty capable
I use it as a Bluetooth mp3 in my truck, it automatically pairs just fine

Let me ask you... I have a 2011 Sonata and I have notice a little cracking noise when I playing music pretty loud. Now the noise is somewhat low but you can hear it more when raising the volume. Wanted to see if anyone else had this issue.
So wait it's a 3.0 device? I thought it was a 2.1???
I had a lot of problems with this on the Droid Incredible. It's the same reason why wi motes would not work with the Incredible when we tried to pair them using bluetooth. Has this issue been resolved on the Thunderbolt?
I loaded Cyanogen on the Incredible which had a different bluetooth stack native to its build. This resolved the problem on the Incredible and I am looking for verification that by default the Thunderbolt does not have the issue.
If so I will ditch my Incredible too.
thanks,

When 3.0 becomes available they will update the Bluetooth stack to.support it... It has the hardware for it just not software
And as far as I know the thunderbolts Bluetooth stack is up to date instead of being behind like the Dinc

Hi,
I didn't see anyone complain about their bluetooth headset audio quality, so this might just be my issue with my jawbone II. The jawbone is about 2 years old, so not the top of the line, but I get a lot of hissing and noise when using it. Is that just my jawbone, or is that typical of bluetooth headsets?
I thought it was digital, so should be pretty good?
Thanks.
Blueant [email protected], and T1 are clear as day
I use my moto s9-hd. No problems here.

I have a Jawbone icon and era and they both sound great.
No problems here either.

Plantronics 975 works great
Second that a jawbone icon sounds good, iffy on the working great though....

Blueant Q1 and Moto S10-HD both sound fine.
Plantronics voyager pro+ here and its crystal clear. I talk on the phone a ton and it works great except for occasionally dropping the connection and reverting to the phone...spent all day on the phone friday and it happened a few times. Other than that no issues.

Had a rocketfish headset that sounded great and worked well for a couple months. But, you get what you pay for. After about 4 months it stopped holding a charge.

So, not that it's SUPER important. But I just got done dialing my system in my truck in. Put all the speakers in, sub, amps, head unit, etc etc. And I got a model with bluetooth. And I must say, it's legit. I can stream music via it from my phone, take calls and it'll mute the music so I can take the call. I recommend to anyone that drives and talks a lot to do this. It's not too much and it's very helpful and sounds decent too.
been doing that in my car for a couple years now... Love it. But for some reason my MoFo will drop the BT connection after playing music for about 20 mins. Well maybe drop the connection is the wrong thing to say, it is still connected, still get message notifications through the Headunit, but it stops streaming the music....
Are you using the stock music player?

Happens with Stock, Mixing, nemo, and Player Pro... Normally when it happens i have to reboot either my phone or the car to get it to play again...
Hm that's weird. I haven't hit any issues either.

My issues seem to only be in wife's car with a newer jvc unit. I have an older eclipse unit and it works decent but no audio interupts

Just put a jvc unit in my work car. Damn its sweet. Love being able to stream music without the aux cable.
Also mine has a bt remote so i cab skip tracks through Pandora or any of the other music apps without using the phone.
This and the unlimited Pandora apk is the best combo ever.

Do you guys leave your bt enabled on your phones? Never really used anything Bluetooth except for my ps3 so i don't know how much it would affect battery life leaving it on.

I always have BT enabled. just to lazy to kill it I guess... I still get b=pretty decent battery life too.
Mine usually does okay. But I turn it off when not in use.

Is everyone having pretty good call quality on both ends? And what kinda set do you run? Stock? Just a head unit?

Mine is a jvc kdr520 I got off Crutchfield. Call quality is great. I had my wife call me from the car and its all clear as it gets.

Jvc av794 i think. Works awesome. Names of songs pop up via bt through music app. Calls also work great. Car has a factory 9 speaker h/k otherwise
I also have an eclipse cd5030 and call quality sucks. But its been that way with all phones. I think the car is too loud and there is no echo cancellation sw.
Factory speakers otherwise. And a 10 inch sub.
Sent from my MB855 using XDA App
Right on. I'm running four mids two tweets two amps and a sub. The amp is actually kinda handy for call volume.

I can't seem to make my razr use the Bluetooths microphone when talking to personal assistant apps like vlingo or skyvi. The audio works great however, but I can't get it to stop using the phones mic. Any ideas?

+1 for finding a way to change the mic. I would like to be able to use my Bluetooth mic for the voice typing in ICS. And having the assistant use it too would be nice. Plus I like the Google Voice search app MUCH better than the default Bluetooth voice actions app.

You'd think that with the multitude of talented devs we have here, and the benefits that would be had from all android devices, this issue could be resolved with a mod in no time. I'm willing to throw a donation a devs way for this.

With my phone connected to my car stereo via bluetooth, the volume seems considerably low compared to my rezound, which was even lower than my thunderbolt. Phone and deck are both maxed out.
Tried various EQ apps, not much difference..
On stock rom, not rooted.
Anyone else have this issue?

Are you on the OTA update?
My Bluetooth headset has very low volume which has been reported by others. I was hoping this was fixed in the OTA.
Yes im on update.
Sent from my HTC6435LVW using Tapatalk 2
You're not the only one. I've spent most of my time in the Android Central forums and same issue reported there as well. Update seems to have improved connecting but quality hasn't changed much. Personally speaking my Plantronics Voyager worked great on my Samsung Fascinate but on the DNA ... well let's just say a toaster would do a better job with audio.
What Bluetooth software is in your car? I believe the droid DNA uses 4.0 and updating your Bluetooth software in your car via usb might help ya

Can't say I've had the same problem with Korean car head units, Ford Sync units, LG HBS 700 headphones, and an older Jawbone Prime. All have worked fine, and in the case of the LG headphones, I have to operate them both at significantly lower than full volume on both.

Sent from my HTC6435LVW using Tapatalk 2
No.
I've tried replacing the HTC BT drivers with both stock drivers and CAF drivers and neither made any difference that I could tell.
Dsb9938 pulled an alternative user space stack from somewhere and that didn't change anything for me either.
