S-Voice apk? - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note I717

Could anyone point me in direction of a fully functional s voice?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using xda app-developers app

if you are looking for a fully functional svoice for a jb rom, you wont find one, since it really works best on ICS roms...
it will sometimes sort of work on a jb rom, but not like it does on an ics rom..
Vlingo beta, in the market, generally works better on jb roms, but even that doesn't work 100% of the time..
If you flash Flapps ICS rom, in his tools app, he includes a properly functioning svoice app

Could you link me DL or the thread to flapps ROM? Thanks

Yep. Works good too. However I am getting some FC's every now and again.

edit: this is actually really nice... very cool app.

Running the newest ICS ULUC3 leak. Working great here no fc's yet. I had never heard of this app, so thanks to the op for posting this. Much nicer than News360.
Runs smooth..... on ucld3 leak

You need to install the app to system instead of sd.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using XDA
for working widget install app in internal sd not external

Go to applications, applications manager, select flipbook then change to install to phone/system.

Anyone seeing a difference with this running in tablet mode? (layout wise?)
Works... Dunno what the excitement is about, however. The flipping animation?
I'll just keep using Pulse. Stories pull up faster, and they're consistent.. In Flipboard random stories are paged, others just scroll...
Reminds me of News 360. Pretty, but that's about it.

Anyone know how to get ICS animations on GB?

So there's a Cm7 for the Galaxy player 5.0 and it has ICS animations. Would there be a way to get the animations on any ROM?

you can also google bootanimations for andriod there are a bunch of them out there.
Just in case you didn't know cm7 is v buggy. Wifi will take forever to connect.

MIUI Galnet down, alternatives?

Ok so MIUI galnet is now down. ..typical as I just found out of its existence.
So what alternatives are there? The best thing about galnet was it was miui but it had all the Samsung apps and options I.e. allshare and dlna.
Are there any other MIUI Roms that offer this?

I'll check it out. Miui is super stable and fast plus it has a music touchscreen with controls. But it's just lacking allshare cast and dlna which it seems miui android are reluctant to add on ....don't know why

Consan has included links that are dead as of June/July has this Rom been killed off?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
Speaking of MIUI. Is the latest MIUI on miui.us based on JB or ICS? (the non-aosp one)
Ics to my knowledge
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
Yeah ICS unfortunately.
tried royglobe today the animations and theme were disgusting and very laggy. ..do not recommend it!
most critically it doesn't have the allshare cast option....

Need a fm radio app

Hey guys,
I have a rooted galaxy s2 running jelly bam android 4.2.2 rom, fm radio app is missing in the rom. I need stock jelly bean rom of galaxy s2, or any other alternative app. I tried fm radio by Sutton shin of play store it didn't worked for me
(not Internet radio apps like tune in etc. A traditional fm app like stock app)
Thank you.

Yes, For now none will wrk on AOKP JB v4.2.2 or roms based on it
Bottom line is, if you really need it, run stock. If you want an alternative (to work on AOSP), code it yourself. Just about every dev who's ever been asked about this has gone 'Who cares ?' (Codeworkx did this quite memorably once & threw a bunch of expletives in for good measure).

Thanks for your suggestion. If I had coded it myself I would have posted the link for the apk file along with this post, since the question was about custom roms there is no question of stock rom

(Discussion) Blast To The Past

Does anyone else here go back to old ROMs for not only stability but memories as well? If so, tell me what ROM and why you want back. I'll start:
ROM: TeamObjection SGS3 ICS
Reason: I love the smoothness ICS OC kernels and the stability of ICS. Best of all its just like the ATT update!
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using xda app-developers app
I went back to ICS w/ custom kernel for BLN and apps. I figured I'd just save the JB experience for when I upgrade in a few months.
Have you been eating the special brownies again? Lol Do you reinstall Windows 98 for the hell of it too?
Just teasin ya!
I never looked back. Ice cream is melted over gingerbread to me. Once I tasted the jelly bean, it became the only one for me. That is until someone gives me a key to unlock some pie!
Novena
No the past is dead but if I did it would be one of dagr8 ROMs hybrid, king kang or saurom I used to love those ROMs.

I have considered going back to king kang a few times, but the unofficial aokp (thread in signature) gives me 3+ days between reboots so that is good enough for now.

The ICS version. It was super stable, zero problems out of it that I recall. I used the JB version but as I recall it rebooted like crazy.
