Hello!
DicePlayer is OK for me (AVC videos, including 720p).
I am using the mx player with the codec for neon on the mediapad.
When playing a video file I can choose among h/w, h/w+ and s/w decoding.
You may want to give it another try.
Cheers!

Not sure if it'll work, but MoBo Player + codecs have been working good for me
as stated above moboplayer is great. make sure its moboplayer, no spaces. the other ones a knockoff. i used to love mobo until i came across mx player
Mxvideo player is also a good bet. Whilst I am not sure if mobo has more codec support than mx or has ones that are missing from mx, I do know mx has ones mobo is missing,
Mx video player
I'm using MX Video Player 1.5
thanks for answers, now i am using mx player

Give Mobo Player a shot.. you wont regret it
MoboPlayer is great ,and is one of the most downloaded apps ,so give it a shot
I have been using Mobo player and i like it
MoboPlayer is the best video player
+Mobo player, can play almost all video formats, though I have already got a giveaway edition of aneesoft video converter for my video conversions.
Mx player
MX player has 3 modes of rendering, HW, SW and SW fast..
I'm not sure about MOBO though..will give it a shot and post!!
Mobo player is the best
mx video player is great but make sure while you play 720P video, codecs for your device are installed
And proper codec should be installed according to your deevice like ARMv7 if you have Xperia Mini Pro
Sent from my SK17i using xda premium
MX video player is the best for me. I've also tried Rock player, but I like MX more. The only negative point is that MX has ads in the free version, but it's not really disturbing)
mx video works great for me...
I'll try mobo video player. I had a problem with Mx video player, i have class 10 8gb SDcard but when I watching m720p movie I think it's not fluent.
I'm using something called QQ player, I think, but I'll check out Mobo.
Mobo player for sure
Hi guys, i need a flv player for my Optimus One.

Hi guys,
I have some news to share, if you would call it news XD
Recently, .mkv video files started playing on my player through the stock video player.. And before, it said "Video cannot be played." Weird right? Has anyone experienced the same, video files that are not supported by the player start working all the sudden?
Try with VLC for Android. In PC is the perfect video player...

No, I'm saying .mkv files started to play on the stock video player, which isnt supported..
The "mvk" is just the container of the "real video" (audio + video) and doesn't tell anything about the codec used in audio and video streams.
You can get both audio and video, you can even get only video or only audio and sometimes you get nothing, this is because the stock player can't decode the streams due to codec missing.
Just try a different player. On my PC I use K-Lite Mega Codec Pack and on android I found MX Player truly complete, so i'd suggest this.

Hello,
Could any owners please test hardware playback for the following files and post their findings? I think MX Player and maybe VLC should support HW playback.
Thank you

Works after installing the ARMv7 codec for MX Player using HW+ decoder/VLC with HW decoder. The last 3 links didn't work, so I just chose other 10bit videos (jellyfish-10-mbps-hd-hevc-10bit.mkv,jellyfish-60-mbps-hd-hevc-10bit.mkv)
Nice, are you in stock firmware? android 6 or 7?
P.S : I fixed the links, thank you.
I can play it on stock 6.0.1 but the 10 bit video is colored like a rainbow in both VLC and MX player in comparison to the normal colors in the second video. I'm using the custom codec for DTS and AC3 support
First link play fine in MX player and MM only with SW decoding. With HW & HW+ colours are wrong.
Second link play always fine.
