[Q] x10mini doomed? hope? help plz :) - Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 Mini

Think ive managed to hard brick my x10 mini.
Well installed nAa 14, and minicm7, worked well except i had no service so i started trying to get it to work
and in the end i decided to start from scratch (install stock)
however i picked wrong (Selected X10_V1_BLRelock.ftf) and after that the phone went stone dead.
No Led indication, no vibration, no backlight, and of course nothing happens when pressing power and power + home/back
Computer doesnt find it so cant reflash
might my little darling have a guardian angel out there or should i start digging the grave? :fingers-crossed:

try rechargeing it for alot of time l

Shame... It could well be a hardware error, if not even your PC recognises it. It could be that you
have to give your Phone to Sony Ericsson for them to repair it. Is your warranty still active?

Yeah thought so, wanted to see with others tho.
No the warranty is up so im just gonna get a new phone instead. thanks for the help tho!

If you are buying a new phone and you like Sony Ericsson's style, I would recommended the Xperia Tipo: Not necessarily a high end phone, but a friend of mine has it and he thinks the price-performance ratio is great. An alternative: The Huawai Ascend G300: Similar price, but according to many reviews a god choice... Good Luck!

New phone after x10

Hi friends,
I just love my x10.
But it seems my perticular x10 has motherboard problem.it keeps restarting if there is sim card inserted. Service center refused service as my x10 is from outside india.
But i m interested in either arc or neo. But not sure what i should do..
Or should replace x10 with x10.
Any thoughts...
Specially from current arc and neo users...

I have heard but I dont own one, but the arc is a better pick over the neo.
But if you want even a better phone. Go for the Samsung galaxy S 2. That phone has gotten reviews as the one of or the best smartphone to date. When I get to a computer, I will give u a review link. Hope this helps.

The phone is unlocked by the way.

I believe sgs2 is the greatest mobile on planet as of now. But i like sony phones and their design more.
Arc is better looking than neo.
Arc has beutiful design.bigger screen hence better usability.
Neo has smaller screen but better battery life.
Front camera does not interest me tht much.
If only arc had 1650mAh battery like the mighty sgs2...

Mine also got a motherboard issue so I bought an Atrix =] All better except for camera (for pics because for video Atrix is better).

I'm hoping for something with 2 maybe even 4 CPU's..
Tegra 2 or Tegra 3.
sgs2 hands down, I've tried it at a store once, it's so smooth. Not for people with small hands though.

Nvidia has already come up with quadcore chip for mobile.
I know sgs2 is better than arc by all respect but one...looks.
How beautiful a mobile can be..

If only my x10 was without motherboard problem. I'm kinda miss my x10. :/
I have decided to go with arc. All thanks to the beautiful design.
But x10 fits in your hand so effortlessly.
Arc has great camera. I better not lose my focus. Else i would end up replacing x10 with x10

Touchscreen dead?

So a few days back, my mini pro started to act weird; when the keyboard was out the touchscreen wouldn't work. By the evening the whole screen stopped working. Warranty is out, so I tore down the whole phone, checked all the connections but in vain. I flashed the phone back to stock firmware, but still stuck with no touchscreen. I think this is a pure hardware problem. And I'm kinda scared to give my phone to these private dealers, they might swap out the original parts for fake ones, learned the hard way when I gave in my old Nokia for repair.
So I thought I'd share my problem with you guys, any help would be appreciated.

Bro, its an hardware issue.. The flex that connects from motherboard to the display is damanged.. Give it to the nearest Sony ericsson service center n get it replaced.. Do not give it to private vendors.they tend to spoil your phone.. Dont worry even if ur not on stock ROM or kernel.. Just tel them not to upgrade your software during the process..else it'l be fixed. Cheers..

Thanks for the real quick reply man, I thought so. With that in mind I took the phone apart and check the connections. Finding them intact I came to quite the same conclusion.
Any idea how much this would cost?

Here it cost me about 1.5k.. Not much tho. ;-)

Yes, I have this problem and will surely return the phone... It's very annoying and I should put down the phone for 15min until it works again...
In fact, we bought two Mini's and both have the problem.
We are in Belgium

If you have root, you can run THIS script and everything'll be fine
Thanks for your answer!
Phones are not rooted and I don't intend to root them...
Will return them to the shop and get a new one. I hope this will solve the problem.
Screen lightly flashing is normal, light sensor is changing the brightness.
I don't understand what you mean with overcharged. Battery cannot be overcharged.

You are right... The phone cannot overcharge... but when it becomes warm the problems start...
The moment I use the phone for - let's say 10-15min - it becomes unresponsive. The screen pop-up menus start flashing (appear - disappear) and I just have to switch off the screen and wait 10-15min before I can use it again but not for long...
I haven't searched in any other forum but I read about a guy who had the same problem and he received a new Mini...
So as soon as we are back in Belgium I will change both our Mini's.

This isn't an overcharge problem, from what you've said anyway. If it was an overcharge/overheating problem it would show up as soon as you use the phone?
I had an old LG Chocolate. One of the first heat sensor touch button phones and that had the problem of when the phone got too hot (either sitting in the sun too long or on charge too long in a warm room) it would start jumping around the menus and all that, I couldn't work the phone without cooling the touch buttons down. It happened as soon as I unlocked the phone, sometimes i even think it was trying to do things even when it was locked.
So the fact that it happens 10-15min after stated using, leads me to believe it is something else. Does anyone else agree with me, or am I completely off base??
Cheers,
Evil.
Thank you all...
I think i better consider again to buy the phone....

Id bet money that you will have problems with your samsung at some point. No flagship is free of issues.

C`mon man...we`re not interested in selling or throwing your phone to garbage!
we all know about the xperia s problems.we do not need you to remind us of them.
unless u have to say something usefull( e.g how to get rid of those annoyng bugs from ics or how to repair the yellow tint...or how to improve the battery life) please leave us and buy a ugly Samsung...or HTC or whatever you like! you will find that all the phones have their problems
at least....xperia s with all his problems is a f#^#n` sexy phone...the rest are just...phones
fake HD Pentile display vs Sony's bravia engine HD display.
No thanks.
If not because of the yellow tint issue that was killing me, i would keep it until the 2013 line realeased.
Xperia S is hell a of a sexy phone.
100% agree but cause I need a phone that works and could not face another 5weeks with out it been repaired had no choice. Now I am no fan of Sammy far from it but when I will have an average of 40 calls a day on my mobile (busy upto 65) needed something that would work.
I still much prefer the xperia S but how it looks is not that important or how it feels if that was the case might have chosen the lumia.
Now I have no preconceptions that Sammy make a better phone this actually feels so plasticly you would not believe but when it comes to making and receiving a call its working. I do not have to worry now (at the moment) about people complaining they can't here me with all the beeps cause proximity is bust, and nore do I have to strain cause yellow tint was getting worse and worse, or the endless FC just using the contacts looking up a number (after re flashing bringing back to stock etc.)
Yes my robot who built my xperia was on the oil too much but when they could not issue a replacement why should I stay.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
I never had any problems on the S with force closes and such (system apps anyways). I would much rather have a yellow screen (that can be repaired) than a blue screened plastic fantastic device to be honest. You can't fix the cheap body and a blue screen.
Everyone has their opinions and such so it doesn't matter. I find this thread in general a bit unnecessary but whatev

Lost and I Hear noise in background.
How to fix this?
Do you know that this is really phone problem? Maybie your signal is not very good? Try insert sim in to other phone. If in other phone there is no problems try factory reset your phone this should help. If that wont help maybie its hardware problem :/

with GB I had only call delay but that was because of low RAM. Witch ICS I have both -bad quality and delay, but I did free up some ram so Delay is not a problem...
This is the biggest peace of trash I ever had makes me wanna smack it against the wall, it s useless phone and firmwares are horrible.
This might be the first and the last Sony phone I ever had bought... They brought us crappy phone and crappy updates as well... they can t do a thing to correct this peace of sh*it.
I really have to admit that this is worst phone I had. I wish I had chosen Galaxy Ace II
F*ck You Sony!
