[Q] Soft Bricked my S3 after flashing XELL4 over XELLA Firmware - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi I have done something silly in the flashing process and now the phone wont get past the Samsung logo and is stuck in boot. I can get to Recovery and Download mode. Have tried flashing stock ROM twice but still the same result.
Here is what happened
1) Flashed Stock 4.1.2 XELLA ROM - Through ODIN - was successful, used it for 2 days
2) Due to battery drain issues did a Factory reset and Reflashed XELL4 Stock ROM through ODIN
3) Phone got stuck in boot screen on Samsung logo so reflashed the XELLA firmware again but its still Stuck
Each time the ODIN gave a successful flash but the phone does not get past the Samsung Logo
Dont know what to do it looks like something got screwed up perhaps due to the new bootloader in XELLA which has messed up the process???:crying:
Device I9300, UK version from Carphone warehouse
Will it help if I try the emergency firmware recovery on should i send the device to Samsung as its stll covered under warranty (Have only flashed Stock RoM and not rooted)

Not an expert, but would a full root be able to fix this?

[Q] Screwed my phone - only have "download custom rom" screen

I'm new here and im only here because i destroyd my S3 software.
i was using cmd 10.1 on my rooted phone but i thought i would try to downgrade it to cmd 9.1
without further thinking (stupid me) i downloaded the 9.1 update from the setting - about phone - etc.
when i then restarted my phone was stuck at bootlogo screen. when i then tried restart to clockworkmod i came right to "dowload custom rom" screen.
i have tried to install a stock rom with odin without any luck and also, by using odin, installed a pit. file. when i now have installed a stock rom i get the normal stock rom boot loader screen but are stuck at that point.
i have also tried to install clockworkmod with odin. just came to the "download custom rom" screen.
Can anyone help me or is my phone totaly broken? :'(

Loop S3 LTE

Hi, been reading lots about guides spent 3hr trying to flash my S3 LTE, prob was i tried cynagen 10.1, didnt like interface, so i tried to reflash a custom 4.1.2, that i used before. This is UK model. I had CWM on before ,Seems now i have get a loop on sumsung logo after every flash. I have tried diff roms the one i used before same thing. It doesnt have cwm on as i wipe and delte data and when i reboot with battery out it just show stock recovery. So I used odin to put cwm so i can wipe/ clear cache try install roms from sd but same loop.message says install aborted from sd install. I have even just tried kies a few times on recovery and still get loop. My counter is showing 12 now so dont know if taking it back to shop will get warrenty repair. any ideas where the problem is, as maybe i tried cyn 10.1 1st time and it got stuck on spinning logo as i didnt wipe/delete user data 1st. am at a loss of how to just flash any rom on to get it to work. Thanks also i have used odin to flash roms on but still same loop.
Flash stock Rom with Odin
Boot into 3e recovery and do factory reset
Are you sure you are flashing stuff meant for the i9305 and NOT the i9300?
I had originally flashed to I9305XXBLL3_I9305DBTBLL3_I9305XXBLL3_HOME.tar.md5 from stock and used for a while and even flashed bak a few times before using this rom, however reflashing this or using kies recover firmware after install process the green andriod man loads some stuff then goes to loop on samsung logo, i have tried many flashed, i dont understand y i wud get a loop on any flashes now it didnt before. surely there must b a way to stop the loop, I used kies 4 times to ugrade firmware recove using my s/n etc but it always seem to complete but loop, any suggestions, am tempted to bring to phone shop for warrenty and if they ask about the 14 installs i will have to say i used kies 14 times. thanks

Flash stock Rom with Odin
Root it
Run triangle away
Flash stock Rom again
Factory reset
That simple
i cant find a stock rom for S3 LTE, just used a few that worked before the loop. I am gonna try reflash with kies again then try your method. One note, I normally been flashing then run odin for cwm then can access delete wipe. on cwm the error is 4 lines of E; cant mount xxx,
how would i run triangle away, do i need to find download file then use odin to flash, thanks
Right I ran kies to reflash stock rom still loop won't boot up. Recovery says counter 32, firmware Samsung, custom. Took back to shop today they gonna send away to Samsung so hope they will repair.

just to let all know i returned s3 lte back to samsung, told them it got stuck on loop, from kies recovery, i had custom binary on 33 and they just repaired back to me today with 4.1.2, am on EE uk, thanks if you helped

Every time I flash stock rom with Odin the phone gets stuck at boot

So I've got this issue I never had before.
It started happening after I screwed something up with the EFS I think.
I was flashing some custom roms after the 4.3 official update and then tried to go back to 4.1 official.
Had the no network problem, but fixed it flashing the vodafone stock 4.3 official again.
Reading all the stuff about EFS confused me, and I deleted the EFS folder and copied an old backup (or so I think, because I'm not sure. I had a EFS backup on my sdcard and extsd I think).
I no longer have the no network issue, but everytime I flash a stock rom through Odin the phone gets stuck at the samsung logo, so I have to root the phone and install TWRP using Odin and then wipe. I know this way fixes this, but what I'm looking for is to fixed the problem completely so I don't have to install a custom recovery or root after using Odin to go back to official samsung rom.
Any ideas?
What should I do?
Maybe the phone gets stuck at the samsung logo because all of this EFS thing, but, like I said, I no longer have the no network issue.
All I want is for the phone to boot normally into the setup after flashing a samsung rom using Odin.
It just gets stuck every single time since I had this problem with the EFS, when before this never happened.
try to install the rom in recovery mode

I had this problem before (flash 4.1.2 in current 4.2.2 by odin), here's my solution.
Maybe you can install your ROM in recovery mode. (CWM based)
Remember to wipe completely before installing

I can flash custom roms through TWRP, but what I'm looking for is to be able to do so again through Odin without ending up stuck at boot always and having to wipe through TWRP to be able to boot properly.
Any ideas?
I'm sure there must be a fix so I don't get stuck at the boot screen after flashing a samsung rom with Odin.
I know the trick wipe factory reset but what I really want is to simply avoid getting stuck at the boot screen after flashing a samsung rom with Odin.

Factory reset is also available in default recovery as well, then what is the issue? Flash then boot to recovery do factory reset.

Thanks.
I'm just trying to find out why my SGS3 now gets stuck at boot when before it never happened.
I'm hoping there's a way to fix it and go back to before, when it never got stuck at boot. There should be a way I guess.

G925F won't return to 100% stock

So my G925F got bricked recently by updating the phone to 5.1.1 UK BTU firmware (G925FXXU2BOFJ) and the phone would not boot up. It was stuck on the boot logo. I did hours of research and finally managed to get it working by flashing Unibase Kernel.
Now the problem I am facing is that I want the phone back to 100% stock. Even unrooting the phone won't work because Unibase will reinstall SuperUser during restart. If I reinstall 5.1.1 using Odin it will hang on boot logo until I flash it with a custom Kernel, in my case Unibase did the trick.
Ive also flashed the phone using Samsung SmartSwitch with original firmware it still fails to boot until its flashed thereafter with a custom Kernel (UniBase)
Ive also tried the solution of removing hidden.img from firmware then repacking and flashing it, still seems to be the same problem (hanging on boot logo) Ive also tried to hard reset phone after flashing and yet its still faces the same problem. Is there a stock Kernel or any other solution anyone may know?
All help is appreciated and I will be happy to try any solution or method posted. Cheers
flash stock firmware with odin but uncheck auto-reboot. Once its done boot into recovery, clear cache, factory reset and it should boot
Please check and try this

Mine didn't boot and KNOX was touched and after i flashed a stock ROM via ODIN it was all ok. I used but a ROM from https://www.samdownloads.de/firmwares/alle-firmwares/#

Thanks guys, Ive tried both of your solutions, unfortunately the problem still exists. The phone will hang on
"Powered by Android" boot logo until I flash it with a custom Kernel. Weird problem
Ive checked, its definitely the boot.img causing the problem. Unibase flashes modified boot.img which turns the phone on

Out of interest, why do you need to return it to 100% stock?

Samsung logo stuck after stock flash from ODIN

Hi,
I have the 925f. I was in a custom rom but had some issues in my phone (7.0 A8 port), so I decided to flash back to stock through ODIN. After flashing G925FXXU5ERA4 it was stuck almost 30 min in samsung logo. Then I went back to DL mode and tried again with the same result. I also tried flashing G925FXXU5EQFC but again it was stuck. I did this several times.
Am I lacking something? Any help will be appreciated.

If it's stuck in Samsung logo just leave it longer, the first boot can take quite a while
Thanks callumbr1!
It was almost an hour and it didn't passed the logo (I tried two stock roms through ODIN). I solved it by flashing twrp wiping system and a rom through a zip file.

anytime when u flashing new firmware via odin u need to go to recovery and factory reset the device , thats the point that odin dont do while installing and that why u cant pass trought samsung logo.
