I have a Huawei ascend h866c on straighttalk, i rooted this phone yesterday and i never got around to putting cwm on it. I was installing a custom theme using metamorph and it asked to reboot my system, so i did. when i tried to reboot i noticed that it sat at the huawei screen for about 5 mins and didnt do anything. I guess i bricked it, I was wondering if there is any way to either get a signed version of the stock rom, (I'm guessing froyo 2.2) or if there is any way to install cwm onto my sd card in recovery mode??
BUMP
no ideas??
I'm currently working on getting cwm working for this model.

Any luck?
Hey merrittbruce,
Have you had any luck with this phone yet? I do have a revovery.img for this phone if that helps any.
H866c
I bought this phone, with its battery dead, from someone on Craigslist and when I got home and charged it, its saying "Image signature verify fail! Your boot/recovery image may have an incorrect signature. Please update your image to a signature official one". I called the guy and he said that he tried clockwork recovery and bricked the phone.
So my question is, can I fix it? I found the original Recovery.img, boot.img, system.img, and build.prop but I don't know if they can help me fix it or not. Please help me, anyone?

Can you provide me a link for the recovery.img file for the huawei? I have the same model and have been looking all over for almost 11 months and have not found anything that can help me unbrick it.

Im an impatient idiot. Lol. I flashed a boot.img through Odin but I flashed a euro img accidentally. Now my phone turns on shows the Samsung screen and then turns off or screen goes black. I think I need to refashion the sprint stock firmware and it'll work. I can find it. Anyone have it and could send it to me please? I tried doing a factory reset already to no avail. Please help!
Thanks in advance.
hopefully over the next few days we'll see the tar ball for stock; course you could always head to your nearest sprint store and have them flash it for you.

same thing happened to me. Just spent over a hour at my local sprint store. My tech told me they dont have any software for the phone yet but they did order me a replacement s3. The tech just tried to hard reset it but it doesnt even boot recovery.
Does this help?

If you can get into odin, just flash the tar in PDA mode.
I guess Ill give it a shot. I can still access odin. Just not too sure if I should continue to tinker with it since sprint has already agreed to send a replacement

You see when you flash a wrong image, instead of the phone working better you will get quite the opposite.
lol ur absolutely right. This heatwave is making me stupid
Yea I have talked with Sprint, no one has the stock firmware. What does that link you sent out contain? I cannot access it yet because I am a newbie. I can access Odin and am able to reflash if I have the correct firmware.
Also, sorry for posting this in the wrong place.

Basically the link is for rooting your phone; there are 2 threads in the development area concerning it.
If someone did a factory reset; then went into recovery and did a backup.
Could that backup be used by someone else; say this poor soul. To use to restore them back to stock?
I'm thinking if channelzer0 could get their phone to CWM they could use that method to get back to a working state; would that work??
I can get into both recovery or Odin. Whether itll work or not....im willing to find out if I can.

You should be able to simply flash the recovery and the phone should work.
But yeah, someone will probably post the stock rom by the end of the day.

I can't do it now as I'm leaving and wont be back until mid-night; if there isn't something you can odin or flash by tomorrow morning. then I'll root and backup my phone, then reset it and backup again and post that backup for you to try.

*facePalm* to this whole thread....:cyclops:
adb cant find my device...
make sure usb debugging is checked in developer options....and also usb drivers are installed.
I seem to have downloaded a wrong version of a ROM, which apparently wrote mmcblk0p5 and mmcblk0p7 backwards from each other. So now I am unable to boot my device. Talking to some people in #koush on freenode stated that it wrote over my modem.bin with a boot image, which is why I cannot boot. I previously already had a working rom (CM10) and was simply trying another one.
So I am wondering, is thare * ANY * way to fix this bricked phone? I am unable to boot into either normal, recovery, or download mode.
check your PM.
Odin back to stock, it might rewrite your partitions correctly with your modem.

having the phone plugged in, it is not recognized as I figured. Also, I dont see how I would even use odin to install the zip to the device. before it was a tar file and this is a zip. So i dont know if it will work as it does not come up.

No, there is nothing you can do but use a JTag service..I know, cause I did the same...I thought i was a billy bad-ass, and start flashing with out READING!! what a fool I was, anyways, And, NO a UsbJig will NOT work, again it will NOT work. Use this service...this company is GOOD.

here is a way to check, go into device manager, if there is a device sitting there QHSUSB DLOAD, then you will NOT get flashed from Odin, I tried every program out there, nothing will see the device. JTag service, stop wasting time.

So i tried tweaking up my build.prop but once i rebooted , it was stuck on the tmbobile screen. I went into the stock recovery and wiped thje whole thing but it nstill wont boot. cwm isnt available for this phone so thats an issue. My only hope was adb sideload. when i try pulling/pushing the build.prop i get error:closed or something about syntax error. I have the update.zip and the backup build.prop but i cant fix. And obviously it was rooted so i cant return it. Is there any software that can fix it ? anything ? thanks:laugh:
Similar problem
I'm experiencing a soft-brick as well, however mine is for trying to replace Roboto-Bold. I've tried sideloading an update.zip to replace the changed fonts but it keeps telling me installation aborted. Is there a Stock Factory Image for the OT Fierce anywhere online?
Bricked mine too trying to install a new recovery. I made a backup before hand but can't flash it because the phone constantly reboots. When I try to enter recovery using the hardware keys I get an option for normal or recovery boot and then the phone begins the reboot loop again. Any Ideas?
Hi Bookg, where You find the update.zip?I am looking for it,but have no luck...My Fierce is locked to unlock(too many bad codes)and I am trying to reset counter.Hard reset does not work so flashing clear firmware is my last hope. Please can You share with me?Thanks a lot forward

My phone LG G e970 from AT&T it says secure booting error Cause: boot certification verify. I cant get it into fast boot, only download mode. PLease any can help me?
I have no idea what to do.
You must have rooted your phone and uninstalled bloatware without unlocking bootloader. LGNPST is the only way to fix it.
If only download mode works , then LGNPST is the only possible way to fix it . Like adfurgerson said.
You have two options and they both need LGNPST.
1. Copy a custom ROM to your ext SD card and use the Teenybin method.http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2230994
2. Use this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2219953&highlight=jellybean for stock firmware.

Guys, I am just a beginner. Got this mobile 2 days back and in the second day it's soft bricked.. Download mode working in my phone. If you guys suggest which method now I should try I would be happy.
Can I have the custom rom installed directly using the second method mentioned above?

htc desire 610, rooted, bootloader unlocked
needed to bypass safetynet
used magisk 12.4 worked fine, new update came
magisk no longer worked, forced me to update
update bricked my phone, bypassed this by reflashing rom in recovery
researched why new magisk update was being stubborn, one suggested updating my TWRP to latest build
updated TWRP, flashed the img while in recovery, ended up putting recovery into my boot (following a guide and wasnt paying attention)
phone now stuck in bootloop, can only go in recovery
wiped and formatted everything, decided to use adb sideload as its worked wonders for me before to try and put my rom back in
adb sideload wont detect phone, after many troublesome hours i decided to follow yet another guide i found about installing a RUU file into my phone to recover

if i factory reset my phone in android recovery mode (not TWRP, the one with the 4 androids) on a phone that doesnt have an OS installed there isnt some miracle chance it would revert to stock rom would it? the only thing on my phone is TWRP and i was using CM12 before everything spiraled out of control
update - phone can access TWRP so im back to square one, i tried RUU i tried adb sideload and i also tried the folliwing programs
sdkmanager
SP flash tool (cant be used with htc)
windroid toolkit
USDDeview
ODIN
i just want to start over and try again but i cant seem to fix this
No, factory reset just reinstalls the OS that was on the device. If you brick the device it doesn't have an OS to reinstall.
Unfortunately, I can't help you very much as I wasn't able to fix my Galaxy S4 that was bricked trying to unroot as my carrier data was slow and I couldnt find the series of files including Bootloader and OS that I used on my Galaxy Discover that fixed it (obviously galaxy s4 series of files) as Odin will flash stock os and with some work around flash custom os.

I don't really know adb very much as I haven't really had much experience with it.
Will probably be picking up a nexus 6 and rooting it since those are 100% stock Android and are easy to root and unbrick etc I will definitely be getting more experience with adb and root
