After finally figuring out what changing the LCD density does I have a question. I will also post a picture at the end.
Is it possible to add more apps to the home screen now there is more room? I really like having more space but it's annoying how I can't move the clock widget up so it is touching the search bar and add more applications to the home screen. The first picture shows what I am talking about and the second one shows what I want to do. (The gallery app towards the bottom) SAMSUNG GALAXY S II

With third party launchers like Apex, Nova, ADW, and i think Trebuchet too, you can set the home screen grid size, so you can reduce the space between them and fit a lot more apps and widgets.

Try MIUI launcher for example, it has 4x4 adn 4x5 girdsizes... and looks quite reasonable.
I can not post links so check: Mi Launcher on google store
Thanks, I'll be sure to check them both out. I knew about Apex but never knew you could change the grid size!
That's one of the first features custom launchers have had since the beginning of Android.

So I am currently using a submicron wall paper and circle launcher as my main screen. I am also using Launcher pro and a 3x3 screen set up so that I have three columns and three rows in which apps can appear on as I need no more. (Screen shots included). Now if you see my circle in the middle is ever so slightly off and this, well it pisses me off to be frank. So does anyone know how to fix this?

Secondly if I try to go into landscape orientation everything, and I mean everything is all wonky! So that my center doesn't line up, my widgets are all off and its just bad! Is there a fix to make it look like its in portrait mode, as in the design and widgets overlay on the same parts or do I just have to suffer??

I took the image file straight from here and used the 800x480 I believe
If you need any more info please do not hesitate to ask!
I appreciate all the help
how many home screens are you using? The image may not be oriented correctly because it is stretching it to fit the entire span...
Just a guess. Not all screens are designed to work in landscape mode or you might need to change the number of rows/columns in your landscape setting to give the widget space.
I have rooted my S3 and am running on Foxhound 1.2 ROM. Am using Apex Launcher Pro and have downloaded one of the launcher's themes from the Play Store. Here's the link to the theme I downloaded: https://play.google.com/store/apps/...pbWFsdGV4dC5reWxlZGVzaWduZWRtZS5hZHd0aGVtZSJd
Anyway so now I have a problem. The theme doesn't skin all of my icons in the app drawer and I'm not sure why. Here's what it looks like now. The same problem apps were unskinned on my homescreen as well but I was able to change them manually. Any ideas how to do the same for the app drawer, or why the theme cannot be applied to those icons? Thanks!

Hi,
Have you rebooted?
Or it's just simply because the author of the theme has not (yet) skinned the icones of these apps (strange for the icone of Apex launcher since it's a theme for Apex )?
You can send a mail to the dev...
Yup I have rebooted and restarted the launcher as well. I don't think it's because the developer has not skinned those apps yet because I was able to manually find the icons for them on my home screen. Just really puzzled as to why they're not being auto detected in the drawer. Sigh.
Do you think wiping cache would help?

Is there a way to make the google weather widget 4x2? It is currently 4x3 but the last row is empty. It takes too much place but it is my favorite widget.
Here is a screenshot

is 4x2.. you got a 4x4 grid so that's the fact..
1. That is samsung's weather widget, not google's.
2. I haven't used it in over 2 months but I am sure that thing is already 4x2
3. Use a different launcher that lets you resize widgets.

Click to expand...
Click to collapse
It's 4x3 and my grid is 4x5
Is there a way to change it to 4x2?
Yes I guess it is samsung's weather widget
As I said before you can use a custom launcher and resize it. Other than that..........goodluck

Is there a way to edit the options and make it 4x2? It is 4x2 by default but when I restore it becomes 4x3 again
I've found a neat Touchwiz launcher that is meant for mdpi and my device is ldpi.
I would like to convert it for my device but I'm not sure where exactly to start. I doubt it's just resizing the images so before wasting my time on doing that, because I tried out the launcher without touching anything inside the apk and the dock icons appeared fine except the shortcuts on the homescreen were overlapping a bit with the dock icons and when I went to drawer, the apps weren't centered but were at the top and there was free space on the bottom. I would like to get some more information on this procedure from a few people with experience.
I've got APK-Multi-Tool and I just decompiled the apk.
I went to \res\layout-mdpi\ and I've opened up the launcher.xml and by looking at the code I have a feeling that's the file I should be editing.
There are stuff like this:
Code:
android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="45.0dip"
Is this "45.0dip" thing in any way related to the screen density?
EDIT: Here are some screenies of what it appears like:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
The problem on the second screenie doesn't really bother me much, the only problem there is the page indicator is at the bottom on the dock icons which sucks I would like it to be moved on top of them.
Anyone?
A friend of mine recently got this weird issue where the shortcuts on the bottom would overlap on top of each other.
See the screenshot below:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
As you can see, only the app drawer shortcut appears to be available as it's label is bright while the others' is dark and tapping on them does nothing.
Has anyone encountered such issue? I am aware that a hard reset might fix this but we do not want to do that. I was thinking of wiping data of the launcher but I am not sure if that has any risks of crashes. I've done data wiping of the launchers on my Samsung phones without any issues but I am not sure how LG's things work.
Just curious, isn't that a screenshot of phone before you changed the launcher?
I ment, you took screenshot and put that as a background.
That's because it IS a screenshot set as a wallpaper. Similar to the popular desktop pc prank with the "frozen" desktop. Just change the home screen wallpaper from Settings(Настройки).
Well that was weird. I never would've thought of that he would have such image applied. You guys turned out right.
Thanks for the help.
