The other day I had an assignment where I had to type up about 2 pages of text. I had the bright idea to use the voice to text on my note2 so that I could I think and talk instead of taking the time to type on the keyboard. It worked out pretty darn well but of course I had to go back and correct many of the Grammer and spelling mistakes. 1 other thing that bugs me was that I had to go and press the microphone button multiple times because if I did not speak it would time out and turn off by itself. I was wondering if there is a way to keep it on until I turn it off? I am using the latest beta of swift key. Thanks for your help.

Isn't that a feature in the 4.2 release of Android.

No?
Can you just set your default keyboard to google voice typing?

I know a way as I recall. I installed Advanced Touchpad, I have the paid version.
I get the server installed on the computer, then I make sure the mouse is working. Then I load up Ms Word or whatever, and go to the keyboard in Advanced Touchpad. I activate the voice button, it should just stay on.
Plus, the text goes right to your computer.

How do you like that? I saw it online the other day and was considering ordering one.
You forgot to mention Swiftkey 3 Beta ;__;
I didn't know they had a beta version. Just installed it and love it.

swift key is the best!
Messagease.
It looks kinda distorted when slighly resized (default is too huge) but works just fine.
Swiftkey is my weapon of choice.
Fortunately got it on sale for 99c. Even at full price it is worth it though. Generally, I only have to type half a word as it predicts it.

Should we be able to do Video Calls to other phones with front camera? I recall some ROMS from SGS to Captivate occasionally having an issue with the Video call button still on the screen. However I don't see any such on these.
I believe att disabled it.

Jerks...disable FM; disable video voice; might as well have deleted the front camera.
I'm sure we'll get a way around it some time.
GSM Arena shows the button on their US review. I thought they were using the ATT Model.

That is ridiculously crappy if carriers are going to block it out. I see where some Canadian carriers are making customers pay extra to use it.
Edit: Me thinks they removed the feature from all US phones so far. Checked the manuals for AT&T, Sprint and T-Mo online just now and none of them mention it. I'm guessing GSM Arena used screen caps from the international model.
Does this have anything to do with it? Don't know what SIP is.

Wow, and I thought I liked Swiftkey. Even though all the settings don't work in this beta version--don't like haptic feedback--I can't wait until it hits the regular market place. It has improved my personal typing speed and accuracy threefold.
This keyboard is probably the most accurate one I've come across. I can purposely miss every letter and come up with the word I wanted most times. Seems there is no way to add to the dictionary though. For instance, it doesn't know the word flu. No matter how accurate you type those three letters, you won't get flu to stay put. It'll change it every time! Surely there will be a way to teach this new words in the official release, right? For now, it's back to HTC's keyboard.
Don't suppose we could get a little more info could we, and maybe a screenshot?

I think he means if you write with your finger, free hand. Not a keyboard.
Also you should ask questions in the q&a section.

Swype has the same option to freely write. It works pretty great!! This screenshot is from an older version but the functionality is still there.

hi zxzyzd... actually i need an app separate from the built-in samsung swype cuz i'm using a non-samsung keyboard.. and i like it so i dont want to replace it.
please let me kno if u or anyone else knows of an app.
I have wiped and even installed a new rom. The only thing I do with Bluetooth is phone calls. This is crazy.
The only interesting thing is I use the same headset with my pc but I only used the headset and phone for about two hours of talk time today.

That's what it shows for calls. I connect my phone to my deck in my car for handsfree calling when driving and it shows as bluetooth share. Mine racks up pretty quick. I don't know if it's because my deck displays signal Strength, battery level, text alerts, and artist/title etc. Don't know if that uses extra resources or not.

Yes, but it shouldn't be keeping the phone awake.
