Anyone know how to get rid of the " Tap the + above to customize the home screen" ? I know it goes away by adding a widget or something but I like to keep my home screen clean without anything on it. I tried adding a widget or shortcut and then removing it, (that worked on my note2) but it comes back
Use the search button.

I've seen this question at least 3 times.

hi, i accidentally use a build in screen capture in my vibrant with froyo.
i couldn't replicate it with any combination i tried.
i read about holding the back button and then pressing menu or home but that didn't do anything.
how do i use it?
(please dong offer third party applications as they all suck...)
I don't think anybody knows how to. It seems like everybody encounters it accidentally. Haven't seen anybody replicate that screen capture option either.

lol, this is just ridicules...
how can they put a feature that is so hidden that no one in this forum, knows how to activate it.
They put it in there for use, then removed it later because on a vibrant you annoy press both home and back buttons at the same time.
The way you did it is your system lagged then you pressed those 2 buttons and bam
is there a way to do it again then?
Last night I gave my gf my s2 to play a game with. When she was playing the voice command thing kept coming on, she probably at some point double pressed the home button and that happened. I did notice it though that it came up some times when she was just touching the screen.
Anyhow, when she gave it back to me whenever I was pressing the home button instead of going to the regular homescreen it would show me something completely different I never saw before. After rebooting the home button worked like before. Anyone recognize the "different" home screen?
Looks like the desk clock found in the clock app (to the right of the stopwatch, you need to scroll right to see it).
You are right, just checked and it's that. I don't know how it got activated though.
Wait, I think I do. The phone was being charged with one of those portable battery changer things (Veho Pebble) and the phone was probably tricked or something thinking it was docked or whatever.
I have the exact same issue. When I press the Home button, this app comes up instead of the launcher. I tried setting the launcher using "Home Switcher" app, but it does not stick, I mean, when I start "Home Switcher" again it says "Your default Home app is (not determined yet)".
Anyone has any idea how to solve this?
First of all, loving my new note. However I noticed that when I press the home key at the bottom, it'll take half a second to a second to actually start the transition to home.
I'm on the latest saurom, can anyone offer me a solution to make it more instantaneous?

Clear your cache in CWM maybe. Otherwise back up your apps with titanium backup and reflash.

Hmm OK I'll try that, just to make sure, my case isn't normal right? How instantaneous is the home button for others?

I noticed a slight lag in returning to home using the stock launcher as well, so if you're using that it may be the culprit. I use ADW EX and have no lag anywhere.
I don't own a Note, but many Samsung ROMs have a delayed home button response because it waits for a moment to see if you're going to double-tap the home button, which starts the voice command app. Over in the Galaxy S II forums, we use a tweak to disable this "wait for the double-tap" feature to get rid of the home button lag (on Gingerbread ROMs anyway). Just letting you know in case there's a similar tweak available for the Note.
Ohh that makes a lot of sense thanks, I'm guessing there's no fix like that for the note as of yet. If anyone knows of one please let me know.
Edit: Found it! Its in deluxe settings to turn off double click, now home button is super fast ))

I am wondering, on this phone when you have no icons on your desktop it displays a "Tap + to customize this screen" message that wont go away. Is there any way to remove this message or just overlay something that is transparent so that I just have a clean desktop? Would prefer not to root.
Its just an icon. Long press on it and drag it the x

I have tried that and it doesn't pick it up, it opens up the customize screen just as if you hit the plus in the right corner.
This is how the stock home app is. Only way to get rid of it is to put a widget (even a transparent widget) or to modify the apk. I recommend you just use a third party launcher. The stock home one is crap anyway.
Nova launcher works well

I need some advise, i have a few questions about the phone which i have been trying to sort out without success.
1) Is there anyway to move the google search bar at the bottom of the home screen ? I cant get rid of it or move it at the moment
2) I cant get rid of the date and time at the top of the home screen. Usually you press and hold and drag up to delete
3) I tried to work around the top 2 questions by selecting a different home screen but i cant seem to do it. Is it possible ? I press and hold an empty part of the screen to select Home screen setting but that's as far as i get. Also tried pitch and anything else that came to mind. I can not delete a home screen either.
4) Icons don't fit and leave a white boarder around the edges.
I also tried a launcher which seemed to help the first three points but the icons still didn't fit
Will it still have badge counters next to the icons or missed calls on screen? What are the pros and cons of using a launcher?
Thanks in advance
