So this has probably been posted already, but I got a warranty replacement and the rezound I have now is S-OFF with unlock bootloader. I know I have to relock the bootloader and it'll flash a stock HBOOT, but what about the S-OFF?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=25165453
I used this a few months ago and it worked like a charm.

Now am I doing this before or after I run the RUU?
After.

So when I'm trying to run the RUU the exe keeps giving me error issues. So I tried to relock the bootloader but it won't lock and keeps saying "INFODevice was already locked"
Figured it out, had to flash the RUU via .zip instead of exe. Mods please delete thread.

Hey guys, have to send in my phone in for a warranty replacement, but I've run into a few issues:
I'm s-on running ViperRez, and anon-ra. I went in and relocked the bootloader, but my phone would only boot into hboot. So I re-unlocked and got stuck after the viper rez splash boot animation.
So here's what I'm asking: right now my phone is s-on, unlocked, still on viper rez, and currently not booting. When I relock do I need to like get rid of amon-ra or something? Once I relock I plan on running the ruu tool for the ICS OTA. Am I in the clear so to speak? Any suggestions as to why my phone won't boot, and why when I relock it boots to hboot only?
Thanks, for the help, I have to send this thing in by Sunday so I'm slightly paranoid.

Just relock the boot loader and flash the latest RUU. You will be fine.

And friend of mine has an Evo 4G LTE and wanted me to root it. I kinda jumped into things too fast and didn't update before I rooted it. I used the htcdev.com unlock process and then rooted it but kept s-on because my laptop is windows 64 bit and apparently s-off program requires a 32 bit. Anyways the current baseband is 1.05 and the software is 1.22 and I'm needing to have it updated to 3.16 so he can run newer roms. Is the best way to update is by re-locking the bootloader then unrooting then run an updated ruu? And after we update would the bootloader still be re-locked and i able to use htcdev.com to unlock again? Thanks for any help.
Edit: Or if there is anyway to s-off with Windows 64 bit, that would work as well so I could just update the phone thru the bootloader.

The best way is to S-OFF you can use a LiveCD to do it
Or yes you need to relock and take the OTA

So If I just relock I can just take the ota update and not have to go thru the unrooting process?

Ok that's fine. Just wanted to make sure that if I take the ota while the phone still had root it would be okay. Thanks for the help

So I re locked the bootloader. Tried taking the ota. It downloaded then I hit install but it just reboots to the bootloader and nothing happens. And idea as to what that's all about. I rebooted back into the phone and confirmed it was not installed. Should I just try the ruu?

I think you need to fastboot flash the stock recovery
I had a unlocked bootloader, rooted rezound running AOKP JB rom. Now after trying to flash a differnet kernel (stupid me) I can't get past the bootloader screen. I was able to relock my bootloader but now on Hboot screen it says ***tampered*** *****relocked**** and ****security warning**** I am completely stuck. Am I SOL or is there a chance to fix this? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Get back into fastboot. Unlocked your phone. You can just go back and flash the boot.img that was on your original rom

You won't be able to flash a rom or kernel if your s-on and locked. The only thing you can do is try and unlock bootloader or run RUU and restart from scratch
I can't unlock boot loader. Went thru the process and it said the token was too long. So I guess I'll look for the RUU and give it a go.

At what point did it say that? When you are trying to get it from the HTC site? If that's it you are just copying too much. Make sure you don't copy any extra characters at all.
If it's when you are flashing the unlock token bin file then I agree that you should just run the RUU and get back to fresh stock then try again.
Use the RUU that is the .12 version rather than the global leak, unless you have already run the global leak one, if you want to be able to take the newest OTA.
I tries to flash ruu from my pc. The command prompt said “access denied"
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app
And your bootloader is locked? You talked about getting the unlock token, did you unlock it again before RUUing?
It needs to be locked to run the RUU.

How are you flashing it?
Fastboot flash and then the name of the ruu

It was locked when I tried to flash ruu
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app
Try this:
fastboot oem rebootRUU
fastboot flash zip {nameofruu}.zip
Or place it on your sd card and flash it in hboot
If it's an exe file you need to double click on that on your pc while the phone is connected.
Hi guys, i just want to ask. Is there a link or website to download DNA stock RUU?
Thanks in advance

I used the RUU for 1.15 so i could take my phone back to stock (it messed up during moonshine and now says im unlocked and s-off when in reality, my phone is neither) but it gave me error 158 which is an image error and it says to download the correct RUU for 2.06
It says unlocked and s-off, but it's not? And why do you assume it's not?
Sent from my HTC6435LVW using xda app-developers app
I assumed it wasn't because I was unable to install a recovery and upon installing a couple apps (titanium backup and SU) the apps would say u able to obtain root. The moonshine method failed but still said s-off and after rebooting SU was not installed from moonshine. That was using the Linux version... I've since used the windows version and it worked first try.

In the thread about reverting back to stock it says in the Moonshine section to install the stock HBoot if you get this error.

I also added a note in the RUU section on my download page that to use it they need to flash the 1.15 hboot
Ok, big mistake here. I used moonshine about a month ago. I had run into problems with my sim not working and had to relock then ruu back to stock. Reading that the update to sense 5 fixed sim issue, I updated from verizon. Didnt fix problem. I fixed sim problem by wiping from bootloader.
I still have S-off and relocked bootloader. Moonshine doesnt work of course because I am on the new update. It wont let me flash recovery and I never had a bootloader token from htcdev to redo unlock. Any ideas?
Thank you
Try beaups RumRunner, he just released it a couple days ago. Look in the original development forum.
With s-off you should still be able to fastboot flash a recovery.img I am s-off locked and can fastboot flash anything.
