Back up stock rom - AT&T LG Optimus G

Hi everyone,
I just reset my phone through LGPNST, cuz I accidentally deleted the Rom trying to flash new Rom . I learned it the hard way cuz I had my phone stuck in recovery mode for a week.
Long story short I just wanna backup my stock Rom before I try to flash other roms. Can anybody suggest best way how to do it ?
Every reply is appreciated and thanks in advance,.

Do you mean TWRP? Just back it up in recovery (TWRP). However, if you are using the recovery that freegee installed, I'd download and flash a newer one from the development section. They create much more reliable backups.

Yes it's twrp which I downloaded from freegee . I tried to backup from the system but it said failed for some reason which I dont remember. As I told I'm kinda new to all this stuff .this is my first android device . So could you please send the link that you're talking about . Thank you for your reply .

Here's the link for the TWRP that has been developed for the OG: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2019662. I was able to flash this to my phone via the instructions within this thread. I'm a noob as well to flashing, so can't give advice beyond pointing you here.
Here's a link for Clockwork Mod for the OG, another recovery program: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2010984
There seems to be a bit more development being done for the Clockwork Mod...

Rom Manager

Can I use it? I used 4EXT recovery and I wanna see Roms that are on Rom manager but it says I need to install clockwork, do I download? Will it mess up

Did you seriously make 4 different threads?
Been doing that for every question all day, you need to post all your questions in one thread and for every new question post it right in the old thread.
Yes, you can use Rom manager. I use it and I use clockwork recovery. I personally don't care for the other recoveries.

Hard to believe when you have 54 posts. Wouldnt it be common sense to leave all the questions in a single thread?

Here's a little tip about rom manager and flashing a recovery through it that many fail to realize until it's too late, lucky for me I got a heads up a while back when I was on the T989, once you flash a recovery via rom manager, you can only boot into that recovery using rom manager, therefore your phone has to boot to be able to use recovery, now, let's say you end up in a bootloop, how are YOU gonna get into recovery to fix your phone? Think about that, we don't have a CWM recovery.img at the moment for you to flash manually if you prefer CWM, but by all means, do as you please, we all have personal preferences and for someone that isn't s-off and isn't too comfortable with the ways of adb, etc as yet, I'd advise the simplest things for now.
Before 4ext was posted and I was on my g2 I used cwm(like everyone else). you were able to boot into recovery same as 4ext. Some had issues but I never did. Is something on this device preventing it from functioning like it did in g2?

Actually for me, once I flash cwm from rom manager, it stayed on my phone. Happened with my nexus 1,s, galaxy s2, and now this phone,..so I guess for some it sticks and others or may not. I say just try it and change if you want to

To each their own, as I always say, do what makes you comfortable, it's all down to personal preference.

Not sure what you are talking about. I can get into recovery without going through Rom manager. Through Rom manager was how I got clockwork. I my phone doesn't need to boot to get into recoveryive used it on 4 phones with no problems..

Problems/doubts related to rooting the phone

I was going through threads on rooting, ROMs, kernels and bricking. Before reading threads about bricking I wanted to root my phone but after reading I got scared of bricking my phone which I think is difficult to debrick (unbrick).
Is it really the case that we cannot debrick the phone at home? Is it ok to root with such a consequence?
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda app-developers app
All I can say is if you're that worried about it, don't root your phone or flash anything. Leave it on stock & enjoy it.
Is it possible to change ROM without rooting the phone?
And what are the chances of bricking the phone while rooting? And if bricked what is procedure to make it as earlier
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda app-developers app
use this to root your S2...It is 100% risk free. However use only if u are on ICS
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1501719
Also, read everything before u flash a rom/kernel..95% of them get bricked without reading or consulting properly

I read it, but I didn't not find anything written as it won't brick the phone. So just wanted to confirm even if I made any mistake, it won't brick my phone, right?

Look at method 1 in the link from my signature
It will not brick your phone as I now include cwm4

And it wont wipe anything..

You have already asked this question in the sudden death thread and got an in depth answer.
Here, I've copied and pasted it again for you

Reply:
CWM is a recovery. PhilZ is a recovery that's based on CWM. So it's capable of pretty much everything CWM is, and more. Hence your backups should be restored without any trouble, as long as the CWM version PhilZ is based on can do it. You have one /recovery partition. You either install CWM or PhilZ or TWRP or whatevertheeff else (this is in response to "Do I still need CWM?").
PS: Please clean up your posts, you're almost polluting the thread!
Why are you asking it again? And not only that but making a new thread for it!
Surely the best place to ask is actually in the PhilZ recovery thread.........once.

That didnt do it...

Dude, first: please turn of caps lock, no one wants to answer this way. You can't boot into CWM Recovery cause you didn't install it, I think. Installing ROM Manager does not mean installing CWM.
