I notice on Samsung's website you can buy either a
Galaxy Note™ II Standard Battery (3100mA)http://www.samsung.com/us/mobile/cell-phones-accessories/EB595675LABXAR
or
Galaxy Note™ II Standard Battery (3100mA) (Verizon & US Cellular)http://www.samsung.com/us/mobile/cell-phones-accessories/EB595675LZBXAR
I was just wondering if anybody had any insight of what the differences could be, thanks in advance.
I have the US Cellular one (which that non-standard battery is supposed to cover).
Same mAh, same voltage. Obviously they used the same stock photo for both on that site. Could be pin positioning or form factor. We'd have to get a Verizon/USCC battery beside another type's to see.
Part Number on each match... My guess is that it's the same battery.
My guess would be that it's similar to the Galaxy Nexus. The battery is positioned slightly different in the phone, so it needs a different size or pin position to work with the layout. Anyone have actual pictures of both batteries side by side for comparison?
I hope they are the same, because I was going to order the charging kit which I guess comes with the standard battery. Meh, I'm getting it on Verizon so I unfortunately have plenty of time to call and check just to be sure.
I'm not positive, but when I had my Droid I think the battery placement was different, like stated above. However, this was due to the lack of a sim card so the position was slightly different. Upon looking at the photos of the note 2 sim slot, it doesn't look like this would be an issue.
However, it is Verizon, so maybe they made a slightly different battery to put in some more proprietary logos.
The part numbers are the same so I would assume they were the same (but possibly with a different pin position).
Another possibility is that the Verizon version will have NFC in the battery like the S3 vs having it in the battery door like the rest of the Note2 versions.
Okay, this will leak soon anyways so I might as well just post it up here.
Verizon's battery is actually very different than the other carrier's versions. I'm a Senior Customer Experience Manager within Verizon's corporate structure. The company has made some major breakthroughs regarding power management and they will be showcased first on the Galaxy Note 2 from Samsung.
I know this is hard to believe but read through and you'll understand. Verizon's Galaxy Note 2 battery is actually charged with sound in a way. It sounds farfetched, but I'll tell you how it works. The battery has a copper charging coil similar to other wireless charging standards, the hardware is tuned to a very specific frequency which you can reach specifically when you scream the phrase "VERIZON WIRELESS" in an open, public area. Unfortunately, due to the light in the VZW branded home button(which can be seen from space), the battery discharges pretty much immediately during use, but the good news is this. As long as you keep screaming "VERIZON WIRELESS" at the top of your lungs in crowded public areas without stopping for more than 2 seconds at a time, the phone maintains a charge! Like MAGIC! Amazing! You can also buy an $80 conveinence adapter that verizon has designed in conjunction with samsung. Another first in the field of consumer electronics, it's a suppository! You place the adapter inside your a%&hole and power is generated off of the energy being depleted from your broken spirit as a verizon customer! All of this will be released with the note in 3-7 months, this is of course after the delays we will experience due to branding and wiring the home buttons.
We at Verizon really wish you as customers didn't demand home button branding so we could get these out to you faster, but we are happy to do anything and everything we can to fulfill our customers slightest whim.

I wonder since US Cellular and Verizon both use LTE if the Verizon/USC phone has a different layout. /speculation

The part numbers are not the same.
EB595675LZBXAR = Verizon/USCellular version
EB595675LABXAR = Standard version
With the price being the same, I couldn't imagine there being much difference feature-wise. My guess would be that they're keeping them separate simply for initial supply reasons.

So I got a response from Samsung's technical support. It sounds like there is no difference between the batteries. However, the little pr crap that they spewed right after the definitive answer confuses me so I still remain skeptical.

If it makes you feel better, all the webpages for the different phones link to the same charging dock.
Does the battery come with a new cover? There may be different antennas in the battery covers (cdma vs gsm).

Yes. But it looks like all the other batteries follow the same pattern. If it's a Verizon battery it has a Z in that spot vs the "regular" one has an A. Not sure what it means but it's different for a reason I'm sure. Even if the battery is identical, could just be a distribution thing.

Some past VZW phones have had device specific batteries, but some other versions did work with it, even though they had a different number on them.
I just ordered the charger and battery combo from Samsung and it says it's compatible with Sprint, t-mobile, Verizon, US Cellular and AT&T. So this sucker better work with the Verizon model. I wanted to take advantage of the 50% off.
http://www.samsung.com/us/mobile/cell-phones-accessories/EB-H1J9VMAGSTA?
I too am considering the extra battery/charger combo and maybe one other accessory from Samsung's site with the 50% off promo. Funny how the battery alone costs the same as the battery w/ charger unit.

Samsung's own website says it's compatible with the Verizon model. We need to squash these battery rumors with an actually comparison.
After watching a bunch of Youtube video's, reading a bunch of articles and websites, etc about these adapters, I ordered one that is LTE compatible, and simply adds one more SIM to your phone. The app to change SIMS comes with the adapter as well.
Does anyone have any experience with these here? I'd like to hear peoples opinions and reactions to them, good or bad.
The reason I want one:
T-mobile has horrible service in my area, but has WIFI calling and works approximately 1/8 of the places I frequent.
AT&T is my Main carrier, as they have the best GSM service in my area, none of which are available where I live. Verizon is the only carrier that I can get at my house and I refuse to use them.
So, because I currently have a T-mobile Prepaid and AT&T Prepaid accounts active on two phones, I would like to use them both on my Note 3, primarily because my Note 3 has WIFI calling (HyperDrive T-Mobile ROM).
My plan is to use AT&T 95% of the time, but while home, switch to TMO and WIFI calling and forward my AT&T number to it. Sounds pretty in depth, but one phone is for work, the other is mine and I have to have them both anyhow. I mine as well make the best of it and not carry two phones as well. This way I can also USE my phone while home, because if you have ever used WIFI calling from TMO, you know it rocks
Thank you
Would like to know about this as well.
Also curious if it could be squeezed into a ZeroLemon battery case or not.

By looking at the picture on amazon, I'd say that it looks like it will. It's being shipped from china, so when it gets here, I'll post the dimensions and install it with my ZL case/battery and let you know.
OK so I received this today. I immediately installed it, which was easy enough. You simply slide this adapter under your simcard while pushing it into your phones SIM slot.
My biggest concern was if it would work with LTE service, since most I found on line would not guarantee. Well, it works with LTE on AT&T and TMO just fine for me. When you install this adapter and boot up, the adapter installs an apk called SimTools.
This is the app that allows you to switch SIMs and it works well also, but I have noticed that for it to work perfect, you need to reboot after each switch or it will not update operator info. I need to test this more to be sure though. It also has a feature called Auto S/W which seems to be a auto SIM switching feature. This came with no information to read into, so I'm not sure and need to run some tests to figure it out. So far, it serves the exact purpose I needed it to, and cost less than $10 shipped. I would say that its a win/win situation. I need to run some real world tests on this and when I do, I will update the thread. For now, if you need simple, basic Dual SIM support, this is what you're looking for.
I'll add that I'm running CyanogenMOD 11 on a Note3 and have not tested this on a Samsung Touchwiz device. I have seen some complaints that the apk bundled with these adapters may have issues on some phones/versions of Android. Some research is suggested before purchasing, but its cheap enough to try anyway.
Good luck
Edit: This fits fine under the backplate of a Note3 using a stock battery and Qi adapter for wireless charging OR when using an extended battery like ZeroLemon because it has a long ribbon cable that can be folded around corners. I tested it with the ZeroLemon battery/case and it works fine.

I think we already spoke via pm, but yes it's holding up very well. Very good purchase.
I know it has the radios, but has anyone been able to activate it on Verizon? They couldn't do it for me directly, so we tried activating a different tablet, cutting down the SIM, and sticking it into the 9. No dice...the cut SIM works fine in my Droid Maxx so I know it's not the the cut SIM, and the number shows up in my "about tablet" so the sim is being recognized, but there's no service.
Anyone have any luck yet and/or suggestions?

I sell Verizon, had my first customers come in with these tablets and tried the same thing (activated the SIM in an iPad). SIM in the Nexus will read the IMEI, but it shows NO network signal. On the phone with tier two tech support right now. Will report back when I have an answer!

Yes I love it so far, and the keyboard folio is great, especially since I grabbed it half off from HTC last week haha.
tried at verizon store .. he tried adding imei didnt work just gave me a sim card.
came home tried adding it on the website no dice..
switched the sim card from nexus 6 into nexus 9 no dice either.
if this all might not work i might just go and switch to tmobile ... have no service half the time but at least the stuff i want to use will work with no issue!!!!!! sick of VZW crap.

also my radio state is off and cant seem to be able to turn it on. did htc/google fuk something [email protected]?!?!?!
also any reason why factory image is missing modem from all of the files??!??
this thread is of great interest to me. Since this will really determine if I get a N9 LTE.
Also find the troubles interesting since a simple sim card swap worked with the N7 and is currently working with the N6.
I know Verizon won't do anything officially but doesn't stop us from getting our 6's running.

btw opened a case with google see if they know anything with verizon.
Looking into your account, I saw that you had contact support previously today (Case: 9-41030000*****) in regards to being unable to activate your Nexus 9 LTE tablet with Verizon. I wanted to let you know that your case has been escalated to the next tier of support and is currently being reviewed. You can expect a reply by email from either the previous agent or the Specialist who has reviewed your case, within the next 1 - 2 business days.
Thanks,

Actually didn't go to Walmart trying to use the Sim card which came from my nexus 6
And connected. 30$ is spent.. I guess I'll get to test them again.. But at home just like when I left them getting 2g
Glad I sparked interest in this...I'm confident now I'll get this figured out one way or the other now that xda members are on it lol.
FYI, someone just mentioned it seems like their radio state is off. I noticed this too...i installed the 4G switcher app just to see if I could get more info from it, and it defaults that the radio state is off.
I did get it to seem to turn on once or twice but it didn't actually do anything.
I'm just hoping this isn't something stupid where verizon has decided not to sell the nexus 9 so they are blocking it from their network.
I used this app to dial *#*#4636#*#* to access the radio when it was off. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.modoohut.dialer

Figured I'd try to chat with someone from Google...they don't know of any reason why the device shouldn't work on Verizon. Here's the transcript - http://pastebin.com/ZuhwvnAY

Yea the 4G switcher app gives the exact same info, and same thing showed when I tried what you did...seems like the radio is turned off, and it won't turn on.
My first thought is maybe google has the devices deactivating the radio when it detects Verizon but then they would have done the same with the 6 one would think.

Well the Google Play support guy says there's nothing on their end that he's aware of for why it wouldn't work on Verizon...I wouldn't see Google doing that, but I COULD see Verizon doing it haha.
One thing I am holding onto is that I ordered this the day it went on sale on the Play Store, so its just possible Verizon hasn't done something it needs to do to allow the connection. Its all conjecture for now though lol.
I have searched the internet high and low, but I guess not well enough because I can't find the Gear S anywhere on the T-mobile site or any site for that matter, Refurbished or New. Is there a reason? Im guessing I should just call T-Mobile and ask where I can buy.. Why is it so hard to find? Obviously its almost 2 years old and yes the new S2 watch came out, but there are absolutely NO options to purchase at all on the T-Mobile Website, with the exception of a t-mobile page that comes up in a google search saying "buy now" with a picture of the Gear S, but when you click on the Buy Now button, it redirects you to another page. Are they just hard to come by?

I bought an AT&T at a very good price off Ebay, and have been using it on T-Mobile without a problem. I have used with a SIM as a stand-alone phone, and without a SIM as a remote control for my Samsung phone. Most of the time I will use it without the SIM.
Yea, I went on swappa and there was nothing. I ended up finding a pretty nice one on Ebay. I went into tmobile and they said no stores will carry it anymore because it's discontinued.
I got an Gear S over the weekend from Rakuten. It is new, open box, for AT&T, but is unlocked. I am using it with a Tmobile prepaid sim for calls only and it works fine. I don't have data, but I do get the 4g signal indicator.

start with dialing *#1234#. this should tell you model and what CSC is on it
put the phone on download mode, it should tell you on that screen the model, I believe I heard that is difficult to fake that boot screen
Forgot to mention, connect the phone to to your pc through smart switch, If it is a fake it should pick it up

Yeah I'll try it, I just plugged it into my computer and it came up as a S9+ but when it got delivered to my house there was no shipping label or anything on it it was just a taped up box xD that's another reason why I thought it was sketchy but at any rate do you know if the 965F can be rooted? Ik it has to be an exynos but is there a setting I can check for that? I looked in about phone and didn't see it but I also checked for OEM unlock in the developer settings and it didn't exist so I might just be overlooking them lol

965F is exynos one.
You can check more details from phone info samsung android app too
Just an FYI, but the power adaptor is for British wall sockets.
To the uninitiated, it's bulky and over-engineered, but that's not the whole story!

so question, since it will not work on the sprint network and i bought it on ebay while they had that sale on it, what can i do with it? i called sprints customer service and they said to bring it into a store and theyll be able to just swap it out after they test it again and confirm it wont work but when i called a store at my local mall they told me sprint most likely wont swap it out because it has no use to them since its the international version and will not work on their network and if i brought it in theyd still charge me $30 for a new sim card to test it out, can you not just swap sim cards anymore? and the customer service person said they made a note on my account and the store representative told me that a corporate store (a real one) might be able to help me more but he doubts it, am i stuck with this useless phone? and if they do allow me to turn it in will the BL be locked on the new one? any and all advice is appreciated im really in a jam with this one lol
EDIT: Ignore this it double posted and i cant seem to be able to delete it
