Chrome beta. Never liked the look of Dolphin browser.

For me Opera Mobile and it has been for a few years now. Chrome (and Chrome Beta) are catching up but I still have yet to see a smoother pinch to zoom/scrolling experience on the Note 2 or my older Desire HD.
Another reason or example: If I test my own site in Opera and hover over the menus with the S pen, they work properly and expand. In a few other browsers, they fail to do so.
A few browsers to try in my sig too.
I like Dolphin beta.

I agree 100%, super smooth and word wrap works better than any other browser.
Dolphin for me, works well with my last pass and xmarks plugins. I do sometimes use firefox when I need a desktop experience.
Have used Chrome since its release. I might install Chrome Beta.
I prefer the stock browser and set it to full screen with quick controls. Really use this monster screen!

I use Chrome. It is faster than stock and I like the sync options. I do not use Chrome on my computer, but I sync between my phone and tablet. I have tried other browsers and for whatever reason none have stuck.
stock browser all the way. If you enable the Quick Menu in the settings advanced settings it turns this browser into a 1 handed speed demon. Also it does the automatic margins thingy for making the texts you know the width of the screen, it does that really well no matter how far you zoom in or out. It all you have to do is double tap on the screen after you zoom to your selected level double tap on the screen and it automatically reformat text to the screen with. My apologies for how this must read, I am making this post using voice to text while driving home from work. Truck!

In the stock browser, I hit menu then more and select text. It lets me select text, then what? How do I copy? I go to the same spot in the menu as "select text" after selecting and there are no new options. Long pressing on selected text also gives me nothing.
sent straight from my brain....
You highlight the text and then hit the highlighted stuff and it gives you option.
Sent from my MB855 using XDA App
once it is selected long press on the highlighted text for the options menu
Or just switch to dolphin browser HD it has better copy/text functions and tabbed browsing.
I couldn't get down with the Dolphin Browser myself. I just use stock. Couldn't really find one I was happy with.
Agreed on the browser... I use stock, but I do have Skyfire installed for sites that the stock browser hoses up.

I don't like skyfire much myself but any browser is better than stock. I love the tabs and gestures in dolphin. It's pretty much Firefox but it actually pwns the android Firefox browser lol.
Android Firefox was absolutely horrible.

Yeah. Pretty much.
Is there any way to enable text reflow on the browser, it's annoying to keep on navigating side to side.
If there isn't is there a mod in the works?

Always have this problem since ics, never on gb
On the Android stock ICS browser, you get text reflow by pinching to zoom and then double tapping on the zoomed text. I don't have S3, but would expect that works with the S3 browser since it works with the stock android ICS browser on the S2.
Also, there is a browser in the market based on the stock browser, I think it is called ICS+ or something, that does text reflow automatically without double tapping. Also Opera Mobile does text reflow.
Yes, just use Opera, its fast and the text reflow works great! I have no idea why Chrome and Firefox doesn't do reflow, I would think its one of the more obvious feature to have considering that scrolling from side to side is mega irritating

This is an issue on all Samsung (non nexus) devices I have ever had. It doesn't matter if it's a phone or tablet. I was hoping different for the sg3 I guess not. I have had the Moment, tab 7, 7plus, 8.9, 10.1, and Epic 4g touch

yeah I'd recommend ICS Browser+, looks like stock ICS browser and text reflow included

Somewhat on topic, if you get a MMS picture on the stock Samsung Text Message app you cannot pinch to zoom in on the picture, you have to save it first. Is there any setting to zoom in on a pic message??

I don't understand why you can't download it first? On my HOX you click it in the message bubble and it opens a new screen with the picture at about 70% size and you can zoom in.

Me too. It's highly annoying since I want to use this browser as the quick controls are great.
Guys.... I've used all Galaxy phones and this feature IS NOT available on any. You get text reflow at the default zoom level only. The hardware supports it because it's available on CM9, but not on Samsung based ROMS.
Those who say it works don't understand the question, it only works on one of the Opera browsers on the S3.

He's saying that to actually enlarge a picture from MMS you have to SAVE it to your gallery first. Samsung really doesn't know how to make an SMS program. They had it fixed with ICS on the GS2 and then they ruined it again with the GS3.
Just use GoSMS Pro, it's a lot better anyway.
well, I'm on jb official relase and text reflow works for me on stock browser, in advanced settings tick auto-fit and in accesibility settings set force enable zoom and minimum font to 12 pt
I'm looking for a browser where I can swipe in from the left/right to go back/forward. That's the only gestures that I want. Like in webos with the gestures patch. Is there one in android like this? I tried the browsers with gestures like dolphin but I don't want to press a button to go to a gestures screen then make my gesture. I want to just swipe left/right.
default browser gestures work ok but i lose the url/tabs bar if i enable the gesture control. I'd use this if I could keep the bar and have the gestures but I havent found a way to have both :S
I'll try any suggestions to test them out if they work for you

You could try the Maxthon Browser. The tablet version works fine on the HP. Get it here:
http://www.maxthon.com/maxthon-mobile-tablets/
thx for the maxthon suggestion, it has the back/forward how i want it but i'll stick with xscope for time being, i've grown fond of it
plus maxthon seems to render pages a bit slower, plus i was having problems with it recognizing my swipes when i zoomed into the page. it would move the page more often than going back/forward. xscope seems to do this part a bit better, plus i've grown accustomed to the direction of the gestures now
Chrome

I have tried many browsers, but i cant seem to find one that will swipe to last page or jump forward with a swipe of the finger. any suggestions?
Maxthon Browser. You just have to enable it in the browser settings. It's a pretty decent all around browser as well with flash support and add-ons.

Might be a stupid question...I come from a long line of moto droids. On all of them, if I double tap in the browser, not only would it zoom, but it would also realign the now larger text to fit the screen. Is there a way to do that on the Samsungs? I hate coming in a news article then have to swipe side to side to read all the words

Are you running stock browser on 4.3 or a custom rom? There's dozens of browsers to try though, I'm sure one will meet your needs.
In running beans 22 rom. Stock browser. Over the years I've fiddled with nearly every browser it there and I've always found the stock the most comfortable. Maybe that's because the zoom always worked the way I wanted it to.

It's under settings>advanced in the stock browser. Check the box for auto fit pages
I last used the stock browser when I first bought the phone. Been using Dolphin browser ever since. When I double tap, it zooms in enough to fit the block of text that you double tapped on. It is useful in that it depends on where you tap it
