Why does my NFC setting revert to 'off'? - Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note II

I cannot figure out for the life out me what is causing my phone to automatically disable NFC.
Seen another thread with only a few posts with the same issue and no resolution.
I am running stock and have never been rooted. This happens without me turning off my phone. Driving me nuts.

I have the same issue. My wife has a gs3 and I have had to turn my nfc Back on. Bug.

Have you tried to force stop nfcservice and clearing cache and data?

I had the same issue but I found if I turned beam on through my toggles (not sure if its a toggle on stock) it stays on always. It used to turn off randonly.

I concur. Please search. However, that is the GPS icon/location reticle - you have checked one of the location services in Settings.

I did search actually... didn't know enough about the icon to even search properly for it. I've had android phones for 3 years now and I've NEVER seen that one. I've also turned off all of the location services in settings and the icon remains.
thanks
sorry i posted this in the wrong forum... would move it if i could

NFC not working

Hi all,
My friend bought an Galaxy S3 3 days ago... yesterday, he got an update through the kies (4.1.2 XXELLA). When he tries NFC, it doesn't work. We are taping our phones but they aren't reacting!!!
Is this an firmware issue or hardwere issue?! how can i test the NFC chip like we test other sensors by pressing *#0*# ?!
Regards,

Note 2 activating problems

I had to do a wipe back to factory/rooted. I used "Root66 stock VRALJB 4.1.1 12/2/12" after i got a Not authorized verizon software brick from trying to run clockworkmod. Long story short after several attempts like all the good attempts. I got to the "this is your first time setting up the phone.
Great, but after selection English i cant get my phone to Activate for the next step.
Any ideas....
Thanks!
Have you done a battery pull? I have to pull the battery if it freezes during the activation after using Odin. If that doesnt help maybe you could reflash in Odin and see if that helps. Msybr someone else will have a few better suggestions.

Issues with incoming calls

I am having fairly frequent issues when receiving calls where I can hear the person calling but they can't hear me, sometimes they all back and they still cannot hear me, but when I call them all is good. Not sure if I installed some app that is causing, but I never had an issue prior to the last update, I am not rooted. Anyone else?

Please accept my humble apologies, it's been a while since I read the forum rules and I thought I was in the right place since I certainly see others post problems there.

Is this the purpose of the new casual exploit in the dev section?
Thanks!
