There is an eMMC Check Brickbug app on Play store to check if your phone got a sane or insane chip, but if latest SGS2 chips are all sane or insane ... I don't know.
Are most s2s insane?

If you are not going to install custom roms you dont have to worry about the brick bug. s2 will be getting the official JB soon. So just buy a s2 and wait for the updates. Brick bug is not much of a big deal. You can easily get rid of it

Its not about the rom. Its a problem that comes with stock ICS 4.0.4 kernel. If you try to wipe data in stock recovery it will brick your phone. You can easily flash a custom kernel which will remove the brick bug and give you root access and CWM recovery. Then you can flash any rom you want without any fear about the brick bug. There are so many safe kernels.

Jellybean is brickbug free,no any brick heard.
Safe way to avoid brick, First install Jb via odin then root by Phillz kernel zip file via Stock recovry.
Recovery (.zip) packages instructions - Will also root your phone * recommanded method *
They come in the form of -signed.zip files that can be flashed in stock recovery 3e: No Yellow Triangle
Download xxx-signed.zip kernel matching your ROM
Put the previously downloaded xxx-signed.zip file on your external sd card
Boot into stock recovery (volume up+home+power)
Select "apply update from external storage".
Now select the xxx-signed.zip file you copied in previous step
You are rooted + new PhilZ-cwm6 kernel with CWM6

[Q] Kernel for CM9.1 with SDS fix?

I can't find a kernel that have the SDS fix and compatible with CM9.1. Can you help me?
Maybe siyah kernel works with CM9.1?
Sorry for my english!
Why not just update to cm 10/10.1
No. Siyah kernel with SDS fix works only with stock JB/CM JB and, as you know,CM 9 is ICS.
I doubt if there is any kernel out there for ICS with the fix. ICS development stopped a looooooooong time ago, long before the SDS and Exynos issue were even discovered.

Siyah kernel

Hello
I'm running cyanogenmod 9.0.0 and I want to dual boot with another from using siyah kernel but whenever I flah it it boots up shows the kernel logo and just stays black!
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
Well if you read and searched properly you'd know that dual booting doesn't work on ICS...
...and also, no ICS ROM or Kernel can be considered safe from Sudden Death Syndrome...

when you start flashing roms on your phone, you should be aware of what you are doing. how could you be so silly? under siyah kernel it is already said that dual boot is only for sammy JB 4.1.2 and CM10 and above.
note:the thanks i clicked for you was accidental!

So does it mean siyah still does not have support for any ROM above 4.2?
I'm currently using 4.2.2 NeatROM and I've just tried Siyah 1.8.6 - 1.9.1 and none of them works

[Q] Is Siyah Kernel 1.9.1 compatible with CyanogenMod 10.2?

I want to know if Siyah 1.9.1 kernel is compatible with CyanogenMod 10.2 (4.3 Android).
I've got Android 4.1.2
Thanks in advance

Usually it will overwrite the old kernel when you flash a new one.

So I have only to download one of those kernels and flash it, right?
Please read general > sticky roll-up thread > understanding the basics before rooting.
