tablet s only boots to sony logo - Sony Tablet S

Hello, and yes i am new here found this site to have the most info but still i dont have all the correct answers
I have a sony tablet s (SGPT111US/S)
The tablet will only boot to the sony logo as stated
I recieved it this way and am not sure what may have been done to it, or what version of o.s. it may have had.
After much reading i found several thing to look into and try.
the first thing i tried was the reset button, didnt work
Next i tried reset to factory settings, after pushing power button/vol up and going to system recovery
Either it would not complete and hang, or it would complete, reboot and still hang at sony logo.
Next i found this post with the zip files http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=26882207
So i downloaded the first one in the list for U.S. saved it to a SD card booted the tablet to system recovery
Chose update from SD card , arrowed down to the file and started the proccess.
I tried several of these files starting with the first one in the list and everytime i recieve the same error
---Install /sdcard...
Finding update package...
Desklunvr update package...
opening update package...
Verifying update package...
E:FAILED TO VERIFY WHOLE-FILE SIGNATURE
E:SIGNATURE VERIFICATION FAILED
INSTALLATION ABORTED.
I just want to make this thing work, does anyone have any suggestions for me at this point i am not particular what os or version of os as long as it works im thinkin.
Thank you in advance

the recovery log means your rom file is damaged, try download it again
ps,if your tablet stop at sony logo or boot animation, try this:
1,long press power button(about 10 s),force shut down,
2,short push power button again
at this time system will try to boot up use 2nd system partition(/mmcblk0p3)
with some lucky, you may go into system
my tablet always power up this way...

You could try re-naming the FW file to update.zip and copy it to your sd card. I don't know if it will work but it appears that it may.
Thanks for the reply, which FW you mean?

Sorry, it's not the VSAM, it's the VSEI. It will take your device back to stock, if it works. Download the file and then rename it to update.zip. Copy it to your sd card and boot into recovery. It's worth a try. Please let me know if it works.
Hello again,
I am trying to turn it on but it is not turning on. I tried to connect computer volume and power button, reset nothing seems to work. How I can enter recovery mode?
Thanks,

I assume it's fully charged or connected to an A/C adapter. Then hold power and volume until it boots. As soon as you see the bird logo, let go of the power button but continue to hold the volume button until it boots into recovery. Then, select "update from SD card." It will only recognize update.zip file because we don't have clockworkmod recovery for 7e.

I don't have any other ideas. We really need a custom ROM with CWM but I don't know any Devs working on it. If your tablet is less than 30 days old, you can return it for a full refund or replacement.
I understand thanks fro your help anyway will let you know about the situation.

[Q] not sure what to do

Hello,
I am not sure what happened, but here is the story.
First, I tried to root the phone using the 1-click method, only to later realize that it does not work as the phone I had was running the latest OTA update. I wanted to reset my phone to factory default and I proceeded to do that.
Now, when my phone starts I see the small recovery menu and a lot of red letters stating that the system could not mount, find or open recovery directories, files or logs. (On the screen is this info Enter ok key,Select vol up/down Rebot system now, apply update from scard, wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache partition But nothing will move courser, then blow that in red is E:failed to open/res/recovery.fstab(no such file or directory) E:unknown volume for path[/cache/recovery/command with a lot more then in yellow letters #manual mode# and the same messages)
When I enter the download mode, and tried to use Odin or ADB, neither one can detect my device. I tried installing different samsung drivers on my system to no solution to being able to detect the device. Is this due to Windows not being able to initiate the drivers correctly, because when I connect the phone in Download mode, Windows has a pop-up show up that says "Drivers not recognized, your device might not work properly".
Does this mean the phone is bricked or is there something I can do to restore the phone?

did you try a different usb port? also I'd try heimdall and see if that works and sees your phone. which stock odin package are yup trying to flash?
I did manage to recover to the stock EH03 rom, by doing the first couple of steps in section 4 of the Guide for installing Rom (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1238070).
At this point, I cannot get root on my phone. I tried using 1 click root methods and those fail to install SU. I tried using the manual method of pushing rage.bin file using ADB, but that also failed.
I tried flashing some of the ROMs from section 4 of the above guide, but they cant seem to install on my phone. When I try to install through recovery, I get the picture of the android on the side and a failed install and either get stuck with the Samsung logo or a recovery boot loop.
Am I missing a step or something in order to root the phone or load a custom ROM? Is it possible that my phone cannot be rooted due to a lock somewhere?
Thanks.

[Q] Dell Venue 8 3830 won't boot

My Dell venue 8 3830 stopped working yesterday. It started with the "com.google.process.gapps" process has stopped working", which is a common error that can be fixed. However, it kept coming up and it wouldn't go away. After a while, other apps started crashing as well. I restarted into safe mode, however it just booted into the normal OS. I wasn't able to wipe the tablet either. When i pushed the "erase everything" button, it wouldn't do anything. I was able to boot into recovery, and i hit the restore button. It then proceeded to try to reboot, then gave me an error screen with the text "No Command". I then plugged it into my PC, where it booted to a screen with a picture of a USB symbol with a white bar underneath. I unplugged it and now it wont boot. All it will do is flash that USB screen. I'm thinking the OS corrupted or the Hard Drive has started to fail. Any ideas what the problem could be?

Okay, this unbrick method will install 4.3 and change your splash screen to the "Intel Inside" one instead of the original Dell logo. I also believe you will have to root to update to 4.4.2 which will void your warranty. It's a last resort type solution.

before you do that, try to go into fastboot mode, by holding power and volume down
*make sure you device is unpluged
If that works you can select recovery, then hold volume up and power for a few seconds, and then you should be able to select wipe data

If I'm not wrong
The recovery of the android lying is a stock recovery and only will let you install the developer edition, but is 4.3 and in my tablet sometimes the instalation fails.
If you want to install zip roms you need a custom recovery
If you don't have custom recovery an option is installing stock rom images from fastboot.
Hope this help you, even with bad English

You need to flash the files for your device from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=51090040. First unzip the FLASHPKG, then flash the boot, recovery, system and fastboot. Then flash the two .bin files in the ifwi folder.

4 colourful dots? Can you maybe attach a photo or... In theory if it loads for a relatively long time, it is probably bricked (normally soft bricked if the phone can still power on but is stuck in a bootloop)
Did you also install gapps? If you didnt install gapps the rom should still work but gapps gives you all the important apps you need for your phone

Gapps is technically required if you want all the functioning google apps such as play store, youtube, chrome etc.
The 4 coloured dots should be the sign that marshmallow 6.0 has been installed and is loading, but if the loading takes too long (leave it overnight if it is still loading to see if it will boot up the following day), then it may not have been installed correctly. If that is the case you should boot into recovery and factory reset the device (this time taking consideration of installing gapps), and attempt to boot the device again. If all else fails the rom may just simply not work for the device and thus you may have to restore your stock rom.

To enter recovery mode in Sony Xperia S:
1. Turn off the phone
2. Press the power button again and the moment you see a pink light coming from the sensor next to the front facing camera, press the volume up button repeatedly (keep pressing until the phone boots into recovery)

It may be in the internal storage of the device then. For future reference, when flashing roms, its recommended to place the rom.zip file in the root (the first thing you see when you enter the sd card) of the sd card. You should also "clear cache" after flashing any rom.

AOC Tablet stuck in recovery mode.

Greetings!
Well, I have a tablet that is very old, and I would like to convert it to a Picture Frame, that is, using an application that will only show pictures with X seconds delay. I've already done that and it works fine.
The problem is that this tablet is stuck in Recovery Mode. I have performed a Factory reset, but it seems that the "Factory" software was not available anymore.
In the recovery screen, I can see 8 options and one of them is "Apply Update From ADB". I have tried to do that with an image file from AOC (8Y3282-H.img).
The ADB side (my PC), after issuing the command "ADB sideload 8Y3282-H.img" shows:
Opening '8Y3282-H.img'...
Connecting...
Falling back to older sideload method...
"Sending:" with a counter from 1 to 100% progress...
then it finishes, without any message.
But, on the tablet side, it shows:
Restarting adbd...
Finding update package...
Opening update package...
Verifying update package...
Installation aborted.
And that's all. If I try to reboot the tablet, it returns to this "Android system recovery <3e>" screen.
Maybe I am using a wrong file.
There's also an option "Apply rkimage from external storage". If I can get a "RKIMAGE" file, I can copy to an SDCard and try that.
The AOC Tablet is model 8Y3282-H. It is the "Breeze 8".
I would appreciate If anybody could send me an image file (any image), or an old system backup file, or even any ROM file that I can use, any version, even from similar models - I would like to try ANYTHING to make it boot, then I could configure it to the Picture Frame thing.
The next step would be to discard this tablet, so any test is valid.
Thanks in advance.
The way to exit Android Recovery Mode is really easy. The Revovery menu has the Reboot System Now function to reboot your phone. So just press your Volume keys to select this function and then confirm Reboot System Now by pressing your Home button. Then your Android phone will exit Recovery Mode and reboot by itself. Just wait for a few minutes, and you can use your phone normally.

Thank you for your answer, but as I said in my original message "And that's all. If I try to reboot the tablet, it returns to this 'Android system recovery <3e>' screen."
It doesn't matter what option I try, and what I do after the "Installation Aborted" message, like Reboot, Power Off-On, the works... It always return to that Recovrery screen...
Anyone?
I still want to recover this tablet. It would be a nice electronic photo-frame to my office...
Again, ANY "RKIMAGE" would be of great use....
