Is there a way to reset the player when it freezes on you other than pulling the battery? I searched on this forum but could not find anything.
do you want to reset it or restart it?
if restart, keep your finger on the power button during 7sec and it will restart.
if you want to reset it, just flash a rom for him or in settings you can find it in setting > confidentiality > reset setting.
Wanted to restart, thank you. I found the long power button press works on my S2 as well. Brilliant.
glad to help

Hi guys,
My new I9300 is a UK O2 locked phone.
After I got it , I did flash several famous ROMs, like Android Revolution HD, Omega, WanamLite and etc.
THEN, weird thing happened! At the end of ALL ROM's first boots, 4 apps were re-installed automatically, they are Music(Official Top 40), Amazon MP3, eBay and O2 Space.
I tried tons of ways to erase this, like full wipe date/cache/system...., I even use ARHD's Super Wipe to do so. However, nothing changed, they still appeared there
I can't find where are they and why does this happen.
Can you guys help me?
Thanks a lot!!
(PS. I have already use GalaSim Unlock my phone, but nothing changed after that. )
Nobody knows?
Looking forward to help....
THx
You need to Hard Reset your phone before and after flashing any ROM.
So in your case just do a hard reset now and will get rid of the o2 apps.
Hard Reset:
-Turn off your phone
-Press and HOLD Volume UP and Home button and press Power button while holding the other two.
-Wait till you will see the Android logo and release all buttons.
-Wipe data and Factory reset using the volume buttons and the power button( as Select )
-After you wipe data and factory reset , just press power button and phone will reboot.
And with this you will get rid of the o2 apps.
It's just repeating the process of showing Galaxy S2 sign and a tiny vibration again and again...What should I do?
No problem with battery.
how can i find its kernel version for rooting it again?
you have a bootloop.
try taking the battery out, waiting a moment and then inserting it. This is called a soft reset.
if that does not work, you need to go into recovery by pressing volume up + home key + power Nand then doing a factory reset.
Thanks Cosmic Blue, it works.
pull out battery, put back, go in recovery, delete cash, factory reset and should work
Yup!
Thanks a million all of you kind guys.
It's recovered to factory setting and the problem resolved.:victory:
Hi,
yesterday i rooted my galaxy note 3 SM N9005. I uninstall some apps like evernote ...
Lately i tried to crypt the phone, unfortunately the process never completes !
Now the phone starts ask me the password, it is validated but the phone just restart.
I can t make a factory reset because i have encrypt the phone
Is there a way to HARD RESET my phone ?
I prefer asking than going on and doing worse.
Data are not important as they are completely saved.

@cratosgow Yes there is a way to hard reset your device.
1. Pull battery out from the phone. Wait 10 seconds. Pull it back.
2. While holding POWER UP + HOME SCREEN BUTTON press POWER BUTTON (so all 3 together). Wait until it turns on with the NOTE 3 screen. Stop pressing all buttons.
3. You are now in recovery mode.
4. Navigating with VOLUME DOWN BUTTON go to wipe data/factory reset and press OK (POWER BUTTON). Do the same and press YES. Wait until done.
5. Do the same but with clear cache partition.
5. Press ok for reboot system now.
6. You are done with HARD RESET.
THX

You are welcome mate I am glad you are fixed. Volume Down + Power + Home is for Download mode. Usually volume down combos get you in download mode/ emergency etc in all devices. Don't mess there if you don't know what you are doing ^.^. Have a great day.
Hi Folks, have had a search through the forum and cant find anything to my particular problem.
Am selling my p9000 and have tried factory resetting with various combinations of buttons (googled to death) even tried the reset from settings but when I click yes I want to erase all my data the phone starts up again and low and behold all the data is still there?
Tried the power button and up button
tried the power button and down button
tried the power button and both up/down buttone together and just a factory setting comes up with test buttons etc nothing to do with factory reset.
Hopefully one of you peoples can steer me in the right direction as this is doing my head in :crying:
RR
Just flash it on sp flash tools. Tick userdata

You are not alone! The latest OTA seems to have killed factory reset. Not even resetting the device via Google device manager works on that phone. And, as you may have guessed, also the recovery menu is gone. Simply incredible!
When I found out, I removed my personal information from the device hopefully completely .... put it into its original box and sent it back to Amazon. Meanwhile, I replaced the Elephone by a Moto G4, which works with zero issues.
Ok so in a nutshell I was trying to FRP unlock my friends phone. Problem is that it kept bringing up an error while loading the setup. I finally got it to where i input the account information (as the owner) and I was able to open settings through bugging out the voice search (I also could open file manager).
I noticed unknown sources was greyed out.
Before consideriing doing a factory reset I went ahead and took my friends advice and stopped setup.apk and google play services.apk
When zi went to clear the data it ended up taking me to the very first start screen, I was just a few steps from completion.
Now after I say setup new device the phone switches between activating network and clicking setup new device. Even clicking emergency call does nothing.'
Meanwhile when talkback is on she informs me how every single play services, gmail, and contact app stop working.
In summary, I want to factory data reset the phone.
Chimeratools. load stock firmware -> reloads firmware but doesn't wipe the current data (refurbish not available for this device, only load)
LGUP -> Load is available, but refurbish is not
Hard Keys -> Apparently the G5 doesnt have hard key capability
TWRP -> thing is not oem unlocked
ADB into stock recovery -> ADB will not work.......not usb debugging.
Please assist
With the phone shutoff hold volume down and power, as soon as you see the lg screen release the power button then quickly repress it. make sure to not let go of the volume down button. it might take a few tries but you should be able to get into factory reset menu

This doesn't work...no matter how many times you try the volume down/power release and reapply procedure ...it never get in to factory reset mode. Any other ideas?
